If the abstinent Fragrance Elephant Bodhisattva and the Hehuan Sect were irreconcilable, then the indulgent Joyful Bodhisattva was their equal.

Meng Youyou didn’t get along with either the Fragrance Elephant Bodhisattva or the Joyful Bodhisattva.

Joyful Bodhisattva was an outlier within Buddhism. She too sought liberation, but not in the afterlife, but in this life. She didn’t forbid worldly pleasures, but instead diligently explored all manner of entertainment.

With her charm, the entire Nine Provinces would be in turmoil.
