[Chapter 69 The Undercurrent Emerges]

In the well-proportioned small courtyard, there are several pots of plants that the old man takes care of, and on the other side is a small home-made shed where some garlic, onion and ginger are planted.

“Come to me early in the morning and want to drink my tea?”

Grandpa was smacking his smoking gun, sulking at the man in front of him.

“How can it be.”

A smile appeared on the man’s face, and the long scar made one shudder.

Although he holds a high position, he still has a lot of respect for this former senior.

“Can’t I come and visit you if I have nothing to do?”

“Don’t fart with me.” Grandpa hummed,

“Longjing is gone, if you want to drink it, bring another six-tailed egg!”

Immediately, grandfather smacked his lips and whispered, “No, there seems to be no shortage of elves in Chengcheng for the time being…”

The man smiled and said, “I heard that your grandson has entered the final of the U20 competition.”

Hearing the man’s words, grandpa suddenly became alert, put down his smoking gun, and stared at the man suspiciously.

“You didn’t come here thinking—”

“I want to get him into the system.”

“Don’t come with me like this!”

Grandpa slapped the table angrily, which startled the noisy birds, and hurriedly hid back to the cage.

“You and I both know where he is, how old is he, and you want him to go to the battlefield?”

As if anticipating Grandpa’s reaction, the man explained with a wry smile:

“I didn’t plan to let him come in so early, so he has to wait until he graduates from college.”

“No way after graduation!” Grandpa blew his beard and stared:

“Being a trainer is no better than suffering with you!”

“Comrade Lu Wanqian!” The man suddenly stood up and said very seriously:

“You and I both know how much an excellent trainer means to the association. We can’t sit by and watch a new star rise, but remain indifferent!”

Grandpa was stunned for a while, then sat down and said:

“At least, at least you have to seek the opinions of the parties involved…”

“Of course.”

The man nodded and said:

“You can rest assured that this is not a bad thing for Lu Cheng. At least, we can guarantee that he can get the best quality resources before graduating from college.”

Hearing the man’s words, Grandpa couldn’t help but sigh.

The Armed Forces has always been known for its high sacrifice rate. Whether it is fighting elf smuggling or border riots, the Armed Forces are all there.

Maybe others don’t know what this means, but Grandpa deeply understands that this is not a smooth road to promotion and fortune.

“The purpose of your competition is this?” Grandpa asked coldly.

“This is only part of it.” The man did not shy away, nodded and said:

“We will fully respect the wishes of the players. Even Wang Yingjie, I sent someone to contact him.”

“Is that the guy who plays very street?” Grandpa said in surprise.

“It’s so similar to when you were young!”

The man coughed awkwardly.

He admitted that he threw an olive branch to Wang Yingjie in the quarter-finals because he saw his own shadow in him.

“I just don’t know if this kid appreciates it or not.” The man twisted his neck and made a crackling bone sound.

“Right, one more thing.”

“On the eighth day of the eighth lunar month, please come to Qianjiang to watch the tide.”

Looking at Grandpa’s doubtful eyes, although the man smiled, his tone was full of icy coldness.

“There may be a good show to be staged.”

—

“Hey, kid.”

Wearing a pair of large sunglasses, Wu Ye leaned against the corridor of the hospital and stopped Wang Yingjie, who was in a hurry.

“Waiting for you for a long time!”

“Who are you?”

Wang Yingjie was a little confused, but when he saw the Pokeball on Wu Ye’s waist, he quickly walked away.

“Why are you in such a hurry!”

Wu Ye stretched out his hand, just about to grab Wang Yingjie, who had already turned sideways and released Kamui.

Looking at Wang Yingjie and Kamui who looked unkind, Wu Ye took off his sunglasses and said with a smile:

“Young man, don’t be so impulsive.”

“Just some things I want to talk to you about.”

“I have nothing to talk about.”

Wang Yingjie looked at Wu Ye coldly, this man gave him a great sense of oppression, and every cell in his body was constantly warning.

He didn’t want to have anything to do with the man in front of him.

Taking back the Kamui turtle, Wang Yingjie left in a hurry, but Wu Ye was not in a hurry, leaning against the wall and playing with his sunglasses:

“If you don’t want to talk, presumably your grandma will persuade you to stay.”

Wang Yingjie turned back suddenly, and saw Wu Ye’s harmless smile.

“I advise you, put the pokeball down, no one wants to cause trouble here.”

Wu Ye put on his sunglasses again, patted Wang Yingjie’s stiff shoulder when he passed by, and said with a smile:

“The cafe downstairs, I’ll wait for you there.”

Wang Yingjie’s hand clenched fiercely, looking back at the house number of the eye ward,

A strong unease flooded Wang Yingjie’s heart.

Inside the cafe.

“I’m not talking nonsense with you anymore.”

Wu Ye pushed a contract in front of Wang Yingjie and said with a smile:

“Here is a contract for a regular worker. If you sign it, you can get a salary of 50,000 yuan per month.”

Looking at the man’s generosity, Wang Yingjie’s breathing was a little short for a while, and he said inexplicably:

“What kind of work is this?”

“You can think of him as a, uh, elf-holding job for more people.”

Wu Ye shook his fingers. Although he was smiling, his eyes sharpened.

“The Milky Way, so you can understand?”

“Underground organization.”

Wang Yingjie snorted coldly: “I didn’t expect that you guys are still developing these years. I thought it was wiped out in the cleaning operation three years ago.”

“You actually know about cleaning operations?” Wu Ye said in surprise, but smiled again.

“It’s easy to handle in this way, and I don’t need to use that hypocritical method.”

“Let me tell you, our boss is very optimistic about you.”

Wu Ye sat carelessly, smiling at the waitress who brought the ice cream balls, causing the latter to blush.

“This contract is just a means to hide from the public. Even if you don’t want to sign it, it’s impossible.”

“What if I don’t sign?”

“Don’t sign?”

Wu Ye dug out a scoop of vanilla ice cream and scratched his head in confusion:

“I remember that the hospital next to it seems to be the industry of the Galaxy Group?”

Wang Yingjie was struck by lightning.

He suddenly realized that as early as he finished the quarter-finals and hurried home to take his grandmother to see a doctor, this so-called galaxy group was eyeing him.

He even made a special trip to an expensive private hospital in order for his grandmother to get better treatment.

All this has long been within the man’s calculations!

Wang Yingjie took a long sigh and silently picked up the pen on the table.

Wu Ye watched Wang Yingjie write down his name and smiled, his tone suddenly relaxed:

“Guess what, when the Milky Way cluster is destroyed in the future, what will those officials think when you pull the list and see your name?”

“I have no other choice.”

Wang Yingjie said coldly.

“Smart boy!”

Wu Ye snapped his fingers happily and said, “I admire you, a person who knows current affairs is a hero!”

“I’ll take you to meet a few acquaintances later, and then you can move around on your own.”

“Although this is a criminal group.” Wu Ye got up and put on his sunglasses, smiling, showing his snow-white teeth.

“But you have to believe me, so far, its benefits are quite good!”
