Chapter 1477: Gathering of the Gods

At the residence of Wang Yun, the Governor of Henan, lanterns and decorations were everywhere. Servants bustled about, carrying a constant stream of delicacies and fine wines.

The gates were teeming with carriages and horses; every prominent figure in Luoyang had received an invitation from Wang Yun.

Zu An followed Lu Zhi into the residence. The hall was spacious and brightly lit, with tables and chairs already laid out on both sides.

From afar, the hall was already teeming with people, a lively and bustling scene.

A quick glance revealed many familiar faces: the powerful figures he had met on his previous trip back to Luoyang, some unfamiliar scholars, and the victorious troops returning from the front lines—Yuan Shu, Liu Biao, and Cao Cao were among them.

Zu An felt a chill; the combination of Cao Cao and the “True God” still put considerable pressure on him.

“Lord Lu and Xuande have arrived!” Wang Yun personally stepped forward, beaming. “Please, take your seats.”

Lu Zhi and Zu An returned the greeting with clasped hands, but then a cold laugh rang out from the center of the hall, sharp and filled with undisguised contempt.

“A mere illegitimate son born of a slave dares to contend with me for a seat?”

Zu An looked in the direction of the voice and saw two young men in fine clothes standing before the tables beside the two main seats in the center of the hall.

The one who spoke was fair-skinned and beardless, with an air of arrogant superiority between his brows—it

was Yuan Shu. The man opposite him was tall and imposing, with a resolute face and a pair of sinister eyes beneath his thick eyebrows—it was Yuan Shao.

In an instant, dozens of eyes in the hall focused on these two scions of the Yuan clan of Runan.

Yuan Shao’s face instantly darkened, like a beast whose tail had been stepped on. A cold glint flashed in his eyes, and his voice was low and stern: “Gonglu, I am your uncle’s adopted son, and by all accounts, your eldest brother. It’s clearly written in the Yuan family genealogy. You keep calling me a son of a concubine; are you questioning the arrangements of our elders?”

“The arrangements of our elders?” Yuan Shu scoffed, his eyes filled with disdain. “How many schemes did your mother use to get that? Do you really think no one knows? Yuan Benchu, don’t forget, the blood of a slave flows in your veins!”

These words were like adding fuel to the fire. Yuan Shao’s face turned ashen, his hands clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white. However, considering those around him, he suppressed his anger:

“Gonglu, if you continue to speak so disrespectfully, don’t blame me for disregarding our kinship!”

“Fellow clansmen?” Yuan Shu laughed loudly, his smile utterly contemptuous. “You dare to discuss clansmen with me?”

The atmosphere in the hall suddenly became tense. The guests exchanged glances, knowing that the Yuan brothers had always been at odds, but they never expected things to escalate to this point at Wang Yun’s banquet.

Zu An thought to himself that this Yuan Shu was truly courting death, just as annoying as he had been outside Guangzong City.

Yuan Shao’s expression turned cold, and two figures stepped forward from behind him.

The general on the left was burly and imposing, wielding a long sword, his eyes wide open, exuding murderous intent; the man on the right had a cold face, his halberd gleaming coldly, a sharp aura emanating from him.

Sensing the extraordinary power of the two men, Zu An’s heart skipped a beat. These were Yuan Shao’s fierce generals, Yan Liang and Wen Chou. He hadn’t expected them to have submitted to him so early.

“Who dares to disrespect our lord!” Yan Liang roared, his long sword already drawn three inches from its sheath.

Almost simultaneously, two figures also stepped forward from behind Yuan Shu.

The leader was a burly man with a resolute face and a pair of piercing eyes that flashed with a chilling light.

Beside him stood a boy, no more than fifteen or sixteen years old, yet already broad-shouldered and imposing, with a commanding presence.

Although the two had not drawn their swords, their fierce aura already clashed with that of Yan Liang and Wen Chou, showing no signs of being at a disadvantage.

“Want to fight?” Sun Jian sneered, his right hand resting on the hilt of his sword. “Let’s see if my sword will agree!”

Hearing the surrounding discussions, Zu An knew that he was Sun Jian, the most valiant general under Yuan Shu, and the boy was his son, the future Little Conqueror, Sun Ce.

Father and son were indeed exceptionally brave and skilled; no wonder Yuan Shu dared to be so arrogant.

At this moment, the atmosphere instantly became extremely tense. The hall was filled with the flashing of swords and the pervasive killing intent, as if blood would be spilled at any moment. Some timid guests were already ashen-faced with fear and quietly retreated.

“Gentlemen! Gentlemen!” Wang Yun hurriedly rushed out from the crowd, his face anxious, repeatedly bowing. “Today is a banquet hosted by me. Please give me face and don’t resort to v*olence!”

Cai Yong also stepped forward, stroking his beard and advising, “Benchu, Gonglu, you are both members of the Yuan family. Why ruin your harmony over such a trivial matter? If word gets out, won’t you become a laughingstock?”

Cao Cao, Qiao Xuan, Zheng Tai, and others also stepped forward to persuade them, and after much persuasion, they finally managed to calm both sides down.

Yuan Shao snorted coldly, turned away, and took Yan Liang and Wen Chou to sit on the left side. Yuan Shu spat and reluctantly took Sun Jian and his son to sit on the right side. The two men, separated by the entire hall, locked eyes, still gritting their teeth.

The storm had temporarily subsided, but the atmosphere in the hall remained somewhat tense. The guests took their seats, whispering among themselves.

Zu An and Lu Zhi sat down near the front. Zu An was somewhat puzzled. Just a moment ago, he seemed to sense a familiar aura emanating from Yuan Shao and Yuan Shu—a chaotic and mysterious aura.

Only a divine messenger could achieve this level.

He hadn’t noticed it on them last time, but now they were divine messengers of chaos and mystery.

Could it be that Mi Li had also come to this world? He wondered where she was now.

Wasn’t one divine messenger enough? Why bring out two more?

For a moment, he felt a surge of annoyance.

“What are you thinking about, Xuande?” someone suddenly approached and spoke.

Zu An noticed a slender, fair-skinned man standing before him, his eyes particularly deep, occasionally shifting as if holding a pearl of wisdom, a hidden glint in them.

Lu Zhi introduced him: “Xuande, this is Xun You, Xun Gongda, currently serving as a Yellow Gate Attendant. You young people should have a good chat.” Zu An

quickly returned the greeting. Xun You was an incredibly talented individual, one of Cao Cao’s top strategists in history.

However, there was a familiar feeling about the other person, and a thought struck him: “You are Wisdom…”

Xun You gently gestured for silence with his finger: “It’s not what you think. I am merely one of its avatars.”

“Could it be that the God of Wisdom has manifested in countless avatars in this world?” Zu An asked in a low voice.

Xun You smiled slightly, neither confirming nor denying: “I simply wanted to witness firsthand how this world will develop. Whether I will aid either side or not, it depends on fate.”

Zu An bowed: “I wonder if I can receive Gongda’s assistance.”

He knew that the top strategists in this world were probably all avatars of Wisdom; the more avatars he could obtain, the stronger his competitiveness would be.

“Originally, I was going to help someone else, but you’ve developed much better than I expected, which has made me hesitate,” Xun You said with a smile. “Don’t be impatient; I’ll consider it for a while longer before making a decision.”

Zu An was overjoyed. Someone like Xun You was originally a staunch supporter of Cao Cao, and the fact that he was now willing to consider him was already very good news.

Just then, a loud shout came from outside the door: “The Great General has arrived—”

All the guests in the hall stood up, and the previously noisy hall instantly fell silent.

Zu An’s gaze turned towards the door, and he saw a burly middle-aged man stride in. He had a rugged face, a short beard, wore a magnificent brocade robe, and had a sword at his waist, but he was not the crude butcher he had imagined. Instead, he possessed an inexplicable air of otherworldly elegance.

This man was none other than the Great General He Jin, who held the reins of the military.

Zu An was somewhat shocked. The man exuded the aura of a true god, an aura that was both familiar and strange, one that he seemed to have encountered before, yet also seemed not to.

Xun You’s voice echoed in his mind: “Consider this a small gift. He is the True God of Immortality, and he’s not the only True God here.”

His gaze then fell on He Jin’s back, where two men stood. One was a general, eight feet tall, with a resolute face, broad shoulders, and piercing eyes—Ding Yuan, the current Commander of the Imperial Guards of Luoyang.

He held a higher rank, but everyone’s attention was drawn to the man half a body length behind him, no one glancing at Ding Yuan.

This man was nine feet tall, with a straight and upright posture, his hair tied up in a golden crown, wearing a hundred-flowered battle robe, and wielding a halberd.

His sharply defined face carried a hint of indifferent arrogance. His strides were like a tiger descending a mountain, his imposing presence overwhelming. He was like a natural vortex, drawing everyone’s attention involuntarily, even more than He Jin.

Without needing an introduction, Zu An immediately recognized him: this was Lü Bu, the most powerful general of the Three Kingdoms!

However, the aura emanating from him… The moment he entered, the previously festive and boisterous atmosphere of the hall instantly became utterly silent, and everyone even felt a sense of loss for all things in the world.

What joy is there in life, what fear is there in death…

At this moment, He Jin opened his arms and laughed heartily: “Everyone, no need for formalities!”

A vibrant energy spread out, and only then did everyone awaken from their inexplicable emotions, and the hall became lively again.

Zu An was all too familiar with the aura emanating from Lü Bu, because Ting Xue also possessed it, and it was countless times stronger than Ting Xue’s…

“You guessed right, he is the Chaos True God.” Xun You’s voice rang out again.

Zu An: “!!!”
