Keyboard Immortal - Chapter 2897
Chapter 1410: The Asura Girl
Zu’an hurriedly cupped his hands and said, “You’ve misunderstood, everyone. We have important business to discuss with the Asura King, and we hope you can help us convey our message.”
“The Asura King?” The dozens of Asura soldiers’ expressions changed drastically upon hearing this. “The Asura King has been murdered by a villain, and we are investigating the culprit. Your behavior is suspicious; you might be connected to the murderer!”
Zu’an was somewhat bewildered. Houtu Niangniang had previously warned him that the Asuras were jealous and belligerent, but he hadn’t taken it seriously. After all, he had some connection with the Asura royal family in his later years, and with that connection, befriending them wouldn’t be difficult.
Who knew the Asura King had actually been murdered?
At this moment, Xihe couldn’t help but retort, “We’ve just arrived here and don’t even know what happened in your Asura realm
. How could we possibly be connected to any murderer?” “Whether it is or not, come back to Iron City with us first. After the interrogation is complete, we can release you,” the leading Asura said coldly.
On the way to Zu’an, Xihe had mentioned that the Asura Realm had three great cities: Gold City, Silver City, and Iron City, each guarded by one of the three most powerful Asuras. The lord of Gold City was the Asura King, and the lords of Silver City and Iron City were also figures of comparable status to the Asura King.
Xihe sneered, “We came to visit friends in good faith, yet you want to imprison us without even asking what happened. Do you take us for three-year-olds?”
Once imprisoned, whether they were innocent or not would not be up to them.
The Asuras were furious upon hearing this: “Since that’s the case, then capture them all!”
They were about to wave their hands to order their subordinates to form an attack formation when a seven-colored divine light flashed before their eyes. The next second, they felt dizzy and disoriented. When they regained consciousness, they found that there were no enemies left. They looked at each other in disbelief, even wondering if what had just happened was a hallucination.
Zu’an and Xihe had already entered Mount Sumeru. Although it was called a mountain, it soared straight into the clouds, seemingly as high as the heavens.
At the foot, halfway up, and summit of the mountain, there were three floating cities.
The golden city atop the mountain, gleaming even from afar, was clearly the legendary Golden City, the royal city of the Asura King, made entirely of gold.
The city halfway up the mountain, exquisitely white, was naturally the Silver City.
And the largest city closest to them, entirely of black iron, was the Iron City, home to the Asura King’s most powerful military force.
Having learned from their previous experience, the two remained discreet this time, carefully blending into the Iron City.
Zu’an even conjured a hideous Asura appearance and made an ugly mask for Xihe, since all Asura men were ugly, and the women were stunningly beautiful.
If they had appeared as normal humans, they would have been discovered immediately.
Xihe secretly regretted her decision; she shouldn’t have disguised herself as a man. She never imagined the Asura Realm had changed so drastically.
Previously, while the Asura Realm was predominantly Asura, other races also frequented it, so her previous disguise hadn’t been problematic.
But now the entire Asura Realm is shrouded in an extremely grim atmosphere. The streets are filled with patrolling soldiers investigating suspicious individuals, and there isn’t a single other race in sight—or perhaps those outsiders have already been imprisoned and interrogated.
“Is the Asura King really dead?” Zu’an wondered, his mind heavy with worry. Did that mean the Asura’s authority had vanished without a trace?
Xi He rolled her eyes dramatically: “Aren’t you from the future? Don’t you know this history?”
Zu An chuckled awkwardly: “I don’t know much about the history of the Asura Realm. In later generations, I only had brief contact with the Asuras, so my understanding is far from sufficient.”
Xi He then pondered for a moment before saying, “The Asuras are naturally skilled in combat and deeply respect the strong. The Asura King must be the most powerful being in the entire Asura Realm. The Heavenly Realm has fought countless battles with the Asura Realm. The Asura King’s strength is no less than that of Di Jun and Donghuang Taiyi. I simply cannot imagine how such a being could be assassinated.”
Zu An sighed: “Even someone as powerful as Di Jun died silently.”
Xi He also fell silent. Could it be that the Asura King had experienced something similar to Di Jun? She felt a sense of calm before the storm.
Suddenly, Zu’an frowned: “Someone is approaching rapidly.”
Xihe also seemed to sense something and looked in the same direction: “It seems to be a woman.”
A woman with a graceful figure was rushing towards them from another street. Her face was veiled, so her features couldn’t be seen, but women in the Asura realm were all beautiful, and with such a hot figure and youthful vitality, she was clearly a beauty.
She couldn’t help but sneer: “You wouldn’t be feeling sorry for a woman again, would you?”
This guy was good in every way, except he was too much of a womanizer.
Zu’an said irritably: “Even if I were to save someone, it would be to right an injustice I encountered on the road, not simply because the other person was a woman.”
His divine sense also saw a group of Asuras seemingly chasing the veiled woman.
However, before knowing the cause and effect, he didn’t want to get involved casually, after all, he had important business to attend to this time.
Soon, the veiled woman had circled around the street corner. Although her face was veiled, it was clear that she was a young girl.
Her head was adorned with delicate braids, but what was even more eye-catching was her scantily clad body, revealing her slender, supple waist and youthful, vibrant legs—a sight that would draw anyone’s attention.
Zu An was momentarily lost in thought, not for any other reason than that her attire reminded him of an old friend.
Xi He turned and saw his expression, a cold smile creeping across her face.
The girl was also slightly startled upon seeing the two, but her eyes darted around, and she hurriedly exclaimed, “You’ve finally arrived!”
Her pleasant voice was filled with delight.
Xi He: “???”
Before she could react, the pursuers behind her shouted, “These two are accomplices! Don’t let either of them escape!”
She almost laughed in exasperation; this little girl was truly clever, trying to pull them into the trap to escape.
Unfortunately, there was no time to explain; the Asura pursuers had already unleashed a barrage of attacks.
Zu An frowned, and with a wave of his hand, a void appeared before him, into which various attack lights instantly vanished.
Seeing this, the Asura soldiers stared wide-eyed, as if they had seen a ghost.
The girl, who had only intended to use the two to delay the pursuers, was also startled, but she didn’t slow down and hurriedly tried to escape.
However, Xihe’s hand was already on her shoulder: “Little girl, you think you can just leave after tricking us? Not so easy, is it?”
At this moment, the Asura soldiers realized that the two before them were far too powerful for them to handle, and they all turned and ran.
“If they go back and inform the Iron City Lord Luo Qiantuo, we’ll all die!” the veiled girl cried anxiously.
Because of the struggle, her veil had fallen off at some point, revealing a beautiful but anxious face.
Upon seeing her face clearly, Zuan’s heart skipped a beat. With a casual wave of his hand, he gathered the Asura soldiers who had fled to the distance into his divine light.
