: Two Problems

“There’s something strange about this sword…” Yanhua suddenly said.

Zuan reached over and pulled out the black iron sword, only to feel it sink into his hand with an unbearable heaviness.

While eighty-one pounds might have been a minor weight to him before, in this special world, it practically exceeded the limits of normal human weaponry.

“It’s indeed a bit strange. The material seems a bit unusual, and it doesn’t look like the other weapons in this world,” Zuan said gravely.

The two had seen many weapons along the way, but this black iron sword’s material was completely different.

“It seems to be made from another world,” Yanhua stroked it with her hand, quickly judging it. “No wonder it’s considered a divine weapon in this world.”

“Do you think it could be a hidden trick by the other True Gods?” Zuan had previously analyzed it with her. After countless years, no one had completed this trial, and it was likely a conspiracy by the other True Gods.

“It doesn’t seem likely. This is the main quest of this trial, after all. If the God of Death couldn’t even notice this, he wouldn’t have become a True God back then.” Yanhua pondered for a moment, then shook her head slightly.

Zuan was secretly impressed. Given her strength and status, her judgment of the True Gods was indeed more reliable than his own.

“Let’s take him back first. After all, that’s our mission this time,” Yanhua said, snapping her fingers. “Hmph, that Mongolian prince got away quickly, otherwise I’d have settled that score with him.”

She hadn’t suffered such a serious injury in many, many years. If it weren’t for Zuan’s rescue, she would have died in this trial.

Actually, the reason she practiced dual cultivation with Zuan wasn’t simply to improve her strength, but because he had never abandoned her and escaped alone in such a critical situation.

Furthermore, the memory of him protecting her in the Eight Desolate Prison Suppression Formation came flooding back to her, and she suddenly felt an impulse.

She looked at the man tenderly, but when she saw him talking intimately with Tingxue, her face suddenly hardened.

Tingxue pulled two swords from a nearby wooden box and handed them to Zuan. “Take the Gentleman Sword and the Lady Sword back with you too. They’re made of the same extraordinary material. A single black iron sword might not be enough to craft the Dragon Slaying Sabre and Heavenly Sword you mentioned.”

These were the divine weapons Yang Guo and Xiaolongnu had acquired in the Valley of Unrequited Love, but with their current cultivation, they no longer needed them.

Hearing the parting tone in her words, Zuan was startled. “Tingxue, come back to Xiangyang with us. This trial is too dangerous. If we’re separated, we won’t be able to respond to any emergencies.”

Tingxue shook her head slightly. “No need. I’m used to being alone. This ancient tomb suits me well.”

Yanhua suddenly approached. “Are you feeling uneasy about what just happened?”

Tingxue turned away, not bothering to answer her.

Fearing they might start arguing, Zuan continued, “In this world today, we can’t use our divine senses, and there’s no way to communicate long distances. It’s easy to lose contact if something happens. Once you get to Xiangyang City, we can all work together to figure out how to pass this trial.”

Yanhua snorted, “It’s just that this kid’s so obsessed with hoping we’ll all be saved, that we’ll all survive this trial. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have wasted my time.”

Tingxue frowned slightly, seeming to hesitate.

Zuan added, “And what about Isabella? We don’t know her whereabouts yet. In a place like Xiangyang City, where we’re better informed, it’ll be easier to gather information about her. And since the Black Iron Sword belongs to your Ancient Tomb Sect, it makes sense for you to go there on their behalf.”

“Alright, let’s hope we can find Isabella soon,” Tingxue finally agreed.

Zuan was overjoyed. Working together meant more hope.

After the group left the ancient tomb, Yanhua found an opportunity to approach Tingxue. “What do you think of that kid’s statement? Do you really think all four of us can make it out of this trial alive?”

Tingxue remained calm, “I don’t like to think.”

“Then it doesn’t matter if you die in this trial?”

“Everything in the universe will eventually return to chaos. Dying here is no big deal.”

Tingxue’s calm demeanor struck Yanhua as a blow to cotton. She almost forgot that this woman was a Chaos believer, so of course she didn’t care about anything.

To avenge the humiliation she’d suffered at her hands, she’d deliberately tried to make out with Zuan on the way, even making a fuss with him at night at the inn.

At first, Zuan thought she was enjoying it, enjoying it.

But he soon realized her intentions and felt

a mixture of laughter and tears. Sometimes he felt like he’d been handed the wrong script. It seemed like the other party was trying to create a sense of revenge against Tingxue.

But Tingxue had nothing to do with him.

But Yanhua had a good reason. She had heard Zuan mention that Tingxue resembled one of his confidantes, and she keenly sensed that Zuan treated Tingxue differently. Even Tingxue treated Zuan differently than she treated others, and so she reveled in her behavior. This was a

difficult situation for Tingxue. She listened to her antics along the way, and regretted not coming with them to Xiangyang.

Zuan, too, was torn between pain and joy. Tingxue didn’t treat him well during the day, but the more he tried to comfort her, the more excited Yanhua became at night.

Upon returning to Xiangyang, these “painful” days finally came to an end.

Guo Jing and Huang Rong were overjoyed to learn that they had successfully brought back the Black Iron Heavy Sword, along with the Gentleman and Lady Swords.

Seeing Tingxue, they were also amazed. Huang Rong held her hand, exclaiming, “So similar, Brother Jing, don’t you think she looks exactly like the way we first met Miss Long?”

“Yes,” Guo Jing exclaimed, as if he were transported back to the Great Victory Pass.

Even Guo Fu, curious about the news, came to see Yang Guo and Xiaolongnu’s daughter. Upon seeing Tingxue’s appearance, she opened her mouth as if she had a lot to say, but in the end, it turned into endless melancholy.

Tingxue, somewhat unaccustomed to such enthusiasm, subconsciously leaned closer to Zuan.

Huang Rong was startled at her small gesture, then a smile of relief crossed her face.

Guo Jing suddenly said, “Tingxue, after all, Polu and Xiang’er are both your uncle and aunt.”

Zuan: “…”

Yanhua: “…”

Tingxue: “…”

Huang Rong couldn’t help but roll her eyes at her husband. “Back then, Guo’er called Miss Long ‘Auntie’. They’re not much different in age anyway, so why would we need to be so particular?”

Guo Jing smiled, realizing he had said something wrong.

Yanhua had no interest in playing up a loving motherly act and quickly changed the subject to business.

Huang Rong sent Guo Fu to fetch her grandfather, thus sending her off.

Then he said, “We’ve found your grandfather these days. He’s a scholar and has been studying how to forge a magic weapon. He’s done a lot of experiments with other weapons and has discovered two difficulties.”

“First, the flames required to smelt the heavy black iron sword are by no means ordinary. He’s heard that there’s a strange man near Mount Emei in Sichuan who’s good at making thunder and fire bombs. He might have a way to create high-temperature flames.”

“There’s another problem. If flames can melt the heavy black iron sword, then the iron pliers usually used to hold weapons in place would have melted into water. So special tools are needed to help forge a magic weapon. I’m afraid only the Holy Fire Order of the Ming Cult can do that.”

“So we need two people to go to Mount Emei and the Ming Cult. Xiang’er should be able to go to Mount Emei, but the Ming Cult is extremely dangerous. The current Sect Leader Shi is a highly skilled martial artist and has many talented people under his command. If it were any other item, they might give us a favor, but the Holy Fire Order is a sacred object of the Ming Cult. They’re definitely not going to give it to us. We can only find a way to steal it.”

“It’s a pity that your father and I can’t leave Xiangyang. Your grandfather is also very old. It would be great if Guo’er was here, but now I don’t know who to turn to…”
