1267: The Eight Desolate Prison Suppression Formation

Those long, orange-red whips lashed out from all directions like divine punishment, their pressure freezing the entire space, making it impossible to avoid them.

“Brother Zu, be careful!” Yanhua quickly dodged behind Zuan, shielding him from the most arduous blow with her back.

Snap!

The whip struck her back, instantly ripping her clothes apart, sending blood and flesh flying. The once-fair skin around her now charred black, as if scorched by fire.

Several more lashes lashed out, and Zuan, startled, quickly scooped her up in his arms, dodging and dodging.

There were only eight whips, but they seemed to fill the entire world. Even with Zuan’s agility and special abilities, he struggled to keep pace.

More importantly, the chains beneath his feet, also part of the whips, rose and fell like waves, making Zuan unable to stand steady, and he could only jump on them.

In the blink of an eye, he was cornered by the whips, unable to retreat. He could only hold Yanhua in his arms, using his body to help her withstand the lashes that felt like divine punishment.

Crack!

With just one blow, Zaun felt a sharp pain, not just physical, but a ache that penetrated his soul, sending hairs all over his body standing on end.

He had no idea how many wounds and lashes he had endured in his life.

The most memorable was the Wailing Whip, but the pain this whip inflicted was a thousand, ten thousand times greater! Even

with his fortitude, he couldn’t help but groan.

And what about Yanhua, who was so delicate? As

several more whips lashed out, he quickly activated the Mark of History, gifted to him by the God of Memory. Suddenly, a river of history, dotted with starlight, appeared around him.

Yanhua, in his arms, blinked, as if drawn to this beautiful river of history.

The long, orange-red whips, like divine punishment, lashed out, disappearing into that river of history.

Zuan breathed a sigh of relief. He knew he’d been able to block even the terrifying demon spider’s attacks before, so blocking these attacks shouldn’t be a problem.

But the next moment, his eyes widened as whips lashed out from the very river of history, striking him directly and nearly slicing him apart.

What the hell were these whips? Why couldn’t they even stop the river of history, which often stretches back thousands of years, or even longer?

Could these whips transcend time?

He had no time to ponder this. He could only endure the lashes, using them to propel him upwards. He’d just tested it, and without the chains, he couldn’t fly above the chasm.

But no matter how he dodged, he couldn’t withstand the endless whip shadows that filled the sky.

Soon, all he could do was try not to fall into the chasm and withstand the lashes of the orange-red whips.

While activating the Taotie Heaven-Swallowing Art to absorb the destructive force, he simultaneously channeled the Hongmeng Yuanshi Sutra to repair his injuries.

Even so, he was at his limit. The pain that ripped through his soul was too unbearable.

Fireworks, in her arms, felt a drop of blood splash onto her face. She looked up at the man who had tightly protected her, his handsome features contorted in agony. She could even smell the scorching of his flesh, and for a moment, she was lost in thought.

“Why are you so kind to me?” she whispered softly.

Zuan couldn’t respond, didn’t even hear her words, for his will was on the verge of collapse.

Suddenly, golden tortoise-shell phantoms appeared around him. Isabella, on the cliffside, was frantically searching her bag for treasures, offering him one piece of protective armor after another.

With her help, Zuan felt the pressure ease, finally having time to think about how to break the current situation.

He watched as the ends of the eight chains extended from the endless void, whipping towards him relentlessly.

A sudden thought struck him, and as a chain whipped in front of him, he grabbed it. Using it to pull back, he was flung across, fireworks in hand.

He hoped to use the chains themselves to cross to the other side!

Unfortunately, the other chains whipped back at him, leaving him no chance.

If he didn’t let go, he would be torn into pieces by the chains.

Helplessly, he let go and retreated, but a strange look crossed his face, as he had just grasped the chain.

He suddenly realized there was a skill he could learn—the Eight Desolate Prison Suppression Formation!

A flash of understanding struck him: this must be a formation formed by eight chains. If he could master it, he should be able to control them, or he would be thrashed to death by it.

He naturally wanted to learn, but seeing the astronomical string of zeros required for the Rage Barrier, he felt a wave of despair.

But the next moment, he saw a keyboard notification: because he possessed the “Netherworld Codex of Life and Death,” and shared some mysterious connection with the formation, the required Rage Points had been significantly reduced, from an astronomically impossible figure to just one million.

But even that one million Rage Points was unattainable for Zaun, as he only had 97,460 Rage Points left, far less than that.

Was he destined to be lashed to death by this formation?

Watching the whips approaching like the shadow of death, Zaun suddenly had an idea. He shouted to Isabella at the cliff edge, “Do you have any magical artifacts that can provide soul power?”

Over the years, he had come to understand that Rage Points were essentially soul power. A person’s emotions were often at their peak during anger, and soul power was therefore most easily captured.

The universe was vast, and with the influence of the Universal Chamber of Commerce, they were likely aware of soul power.

Isabella, unsure of what to do, quickly responded, “Yes!”

Without further ado, she pulled a black card from her small bag. It was unclear how she performed the technique, but the next second, it was in Zuan’s hand.

Zuan was startled. The card looked exactly like a credit card from his past life, only made of a different material. Could it provide soul power?

But without further thought, he immediately activated the skill system and learned the “Eight Desolate Prison-Suppressing Mysterious Formation.”

His accumulated rage instantly emptied, and he felt as if his soul was being pulled away. Suddenly, a glimmer of light emanated from the black card in his hand, and as if swiping, it instantly paid for the remaining 902,540 rage points.

Zuan didn’t have time to marvel at the card’s magic. A formation diagram suddenly formed in his mind, and a flash of understanding came to him.

He quickly formed hand seals, muttering an obscure incantation, and the whips that were coming at him froze in mid-air.

The runes on the chains began to rearrange and flicker, their orange-red glow gradually fading, replaced by a softer light.

In the blink of an eye, the chains were stretched back to the sides of the chasm, a transparent curtain of light appearing between them, forming a bright bridge leading into the distance.
