Keyboard Immortal - Chapter 2745

1258: The Truth
While Zuan’s expression was solemn, Yanhua’s face was all smiles. “Ah, it’s been a long time since we last met. Shouldn’t I be happy?”
Zuan said gravely, “I don’t know how many people died along the way saving you. How can I be happy?”
“Those people have ulterior motives. They’re inferior in skill, so they should accept defeat.” Yanhua was unfazed.
Zuan frowned. While it was true that the guests each had their own agenda, the words still irritated her.
As expected, Isabella couldn’t help but bristle. “At least Uncle Alfred had no ulterior motives. He died saving you, and you’re still here making sarcastic remarks.”
She rarely got angry, but this time, she was truly furious.
Seeing the joke had gone a bit too far, Yanhua hurriedly said, “Don’t worry, Isabella. Your old butler may not be dead.”
“What?” Isabella wiped the tears from her eyes and looked at her in confusion.
“Those people are just bound by the demon spider. They won’t kill them for now,” Yanhua replied.
“Why?” Isabella’s face paled slightly as she recalled the moment the divine fortune teller was easily slaughtered by the demon spider.
“Because you escaped, the demon spiders wouldn’t have been as effective in killing them as holding them hostage,” Fireworks explained.
“How could that ruthless monster even consider such things?” Although Isabella emotionally wished it were so, her mind instinctively doubted it.
“My dear lady, do you think a being that powerful could be mindless and only care about killing?” Fireworks sighed.
Isabella was stunned, remembering that the demon spider was the most powerful monster she had ever personally encountered. Such a being was a formidable figure even in the universe, and it was impossible for it to be without intelligence.
Fireworks then looked at Zuan: “Brother Zu, I’m so touched that you’re willing to take such a great risk to save me.”
Hearing her coquettish tone, Zuan retracted his hand: “Is that sea monster in league with you?”
He hadn’t doubted it at first, but after calming down, he realized that the whole matter was indeed full of doubts.
It was strange that a sea monster of that size could appear so silently offshore, and that the powerful beings of the Dream Land had no warning at all.
Furthermore, the sea monster actually took people hostage, and Fireworks wasn’t the kind of weak woman to be taken so easily…
There were so many unusual things about this whole thing, and he had actually figured out a lot along the way.
However, thinking back to how they had interacted in the past, he felt the monster wouldn’t be willing to harm him, so he decided to wait and see what happened. He hadn’t
expected the danger down there to be so great.
“That sea monster is indeed my friend. I did all this to lure you out. Otherwise, if you’d stayed at the Dream Conference, you’d probably be a walking corpse by now,” Fireworks snorted.
“What?” Isabella was startled.
“Are you saying the Dream Conference was a conspiracy?” she demanded.
“Of course, it was just to collect the souls of the attendees. It’s ridiculous that so many powerful beings in the universe couldn’t restrain their greed even though they knew there was a potential danger.” Fireworks sneered.
Isabella looked at Zaun in shock, but found him calm, as if he had expected it.
“That’s not right. The Fantasy Convention is held every thousand years and is one of the most prestigious events in the universe. If there were any problems, wouldn’t all the various factions know about it?” Isabella asked, puzzled.
“The Fantasy Convention was real before, but things have changed in the last thousand years. Do you know what my true identity is?” Fireworks sighed, as if remembering something.
Isabella instinctively glanced at Zaun, his friend.
Zaun had only met Fireworks on the spaceship and knew only that she was a devotee of the Goddess of Beauty.
In fact, he wasn’t even sure if that, or even her name, was true.
“Didn’t the people in the Fantasy Land tell you that the eldest lady’s coming-of-age ceremony was coming soon, and that the Fantasy Convention would be held soon after?” Fireworks’ face flickered with self-mockery.
Zuan and Isabella were struck by a thought: “Could you be the eldest lady of the Fantasy Land?”
“Yes, it is me,” Fireworks said with a bitter smile. “But there’s no such thing as an eldest lady in the Fantasy Land these days…”
“If you are the eldest lady of the Fantasy Land, then who is that person in the hotel?” Isabella found all this so bizarre.
“Of course she’s an imposter!” Fireworks said coldly. “It’s not just me. Everyone else in Dreamland is an imposter.”
“Does Sister Yani know about this? She’s been so brave and fearless along the way and has helped us numerous times. As the captain of the guard, she certainly wouldn’t stand idly by,” Isabella asked.
“Yani…” Fireworks smiled coldly, glancing at Zuan. “He probably already knows what’s going on. Otherwise, with his personality, why would he abandon such a beautiful woman and escape alone just now?”
Isabella looked at Zuan in confusion. Zuan said in a deep voice, “There’s something wrong with Yani.”
Back then, the God of Memory had granted him the Eye of Perception. Upon returning to the ship, he was shocked to discover that Yani and the other crew members were all fakes.
He hadn’t known their motives at the time, so he remained silent.
However, he wasn’t entirely convinced by Fireworks, and some of the information he kept secret from her was unrelated. “Wait, you said you were the eldest daughter of the Dreamland, but the problems there happened a thousand years ago, and these past few days are your coming-of-age ceremony. The ages don’t match.”
Fireworks half-smiled, “How old do you think I am?”
Zuan looked her over. She was charming and pretty, looking no more than sixteen or seventeen.
Fireworks then spoke, “We, the Dreamland clan, are very ancient. We existed even before the True Gods appeared, and there are many similar races across the universe.”
Isabella nodded. Coming from the Universal Chamber of Commerce, she knew that many races were truly remarkable.
Fireworks then looked at Zuan jokingly, “Compared to you short-lived humans, our lifespans are incredibly long. A thousand years is barely considered adulthood.”
Zuan: “…”
So you’re older than my grandmother’s grandmother.
“What happened in the dreamland?”
“My mother died early, and my father loved me very much, so he never remarried until he suddenly met that woman a thousand years ago. She was very beautiful and knew how to charm people. Since meeting her, my father seemed to have become a different person. His energy was no longer spent on me, but revolved around that woman,” Fireworks recalled everything that happened in the past, “I thought about how my father had been alone for many years, and I felt happy for him in my heart.”
“But if I had known that woman was a vicious woman, I would have stopped them back then.” She gritted her teeth when she said this.
“Ever since that woman became the mistress of Dreamland, strange things have begun to happen there. Old loyal servants have disappeared, only to reappear soon after. No one cared at first, but now, looking back, they’ve become her puppets.”
Isabella asked curiously, “Who is that woman?”
“You all know her, and you’ve been quite familiar with her these days,” Fireworks sneered.
A figure surfaced in their minds, and Zaun and Isabella felt their hair stand on end.
