Keyboard Immortal - Chapter 2740

1253: Refining in an Instant
Zaun had similar experience. Back in the Sea Tribe’s Crystal Palace, a city was similarly protected by a transparent shield deep in the ocean.
But this place was far, far deeper than the Crystal Palace. Even though he lost consciousness afterward, the terrifying vortex he encountered had left a deep impression. This place was likely hundreds of thousands of miles below the surface.
Coming from Earth, the deepest trenches were only about 11 kilometers deep, making them impassable to human life.
This place was tens of thousands of times deeper than the Mariala Trench. If the waters poured in, the terrifying pressure would be enough to crush any formidable being.
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but glance at the transparent shield above him. It must have been a tremendous force to support such a vast space in such deep water.
Suddenly, a whimper escaped him, and Zaun realized Isabella was still in his arms.
She had instinctively grabbed him when the ship had been sucked downwards.
Sensing her trembling body, Zaun naturally wouldn’t abandon her in such a situation. He held her close, surprisingly, even after falling here, they hadn’t separated.
Isabella finally woke up and realized she was clinging to Zaun tightly, even her legs wrapped tightly around his waist. Her delicate face flushed bright red. “Zu… Zu, thank… thank you…”
she said as she dismounted from him.
Zaun naturally shrugged, “Rather than thanking me, thank your luck. We’re still safe after falling into such a deep ocean.”
He had vaguely felt a slight air current supporting him, perhaps that’s what saved him from being shattered.
Moans echoed nearby, and people began to emerge from the water, evidently waking up. They surveyed their surroundings in fear, marveling at the ocean dome.
Alfred was terrified, and when he saw Isabella, he ran over quickly: “Oh my God, Miss, I’m so glad you’re okay.”
Isabella looked at Zuan embarrassedly: “Thanks to Brother Zu for saving me.”
Alfred couldn’t help but excitedly shook Zuan’s hands: “Sir, you are truly the savior of our Universal Chamber of Commerce. You have won the Medal of Friendship before, and now you have saved our Miss several times. I will report this matter when I go back. You will be the most distinguished friend of the Universal Chamber of Commerce!”
Zuan smiled slightly; “We are safe after falling from such a high place. In the final analysis, it is all because of Isabella’s great blessing.”
Hearing that he was not arrogant and took credit for it, Alfred liked him more and more. He thought that the Miss had just come of age, and the master wanted to find a son-in-law, so he was simply the perfect fit.
The only pity is that he already has a wife back home, but that’s not a big deal; he could take her as a concubine…
After responding to Alfred, Zuan anxiously looked around until he saw a familiar figure on the shore not far away. He breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to ask, “When did you wake up?” She
wasn’t as wet as he’d imagined. At this level of cultivation, her clothes were mostly magical artifacts, offering some degree of protection from water and fire.
Even if they weren’t waterproof, a casual flow of energy was enough to steam them dry.
“A little earlier than you,” Tingxue said calmly.
“Did you find anything? Why didn’t you wake me sooner?” Zuan asked, surveying the surroundings.
Tingxue’s gaze drifted to Isabella in the distance. “I saw you and that young lady hugging each other so tightly, and I wasn’t worried about ruining your happiness, so I didn’t call you.”
Zuan: “…”
He was a little surprised. This seemed to be the first time Tingxue had shown interest in something completely unrelated.
“This looks like a dry seabed. There’s a building in the distance. I’ll wait for you to wake up and we’ll go see it together,” Tingxue’s voice echoed again.
Zuan looked over and saw some signs of construction in the distance, but they were too far away to be clearly seen.
At this time, people around him gradually came ashore, and Yani began to count the number of people. Most of the crew members on the ship had been killed. After all, their cultivation was average, and it was difficult for them to survive in that situation.
Except for a few unlucky people at the stern, most of the other guests survived.
Everyone also noticed the buildings in the distance and decided to go and explore them.
Yani asked the crew to stay here to collect supplies and set up a temporary camp so that they would have a way to retreat if they encountered danger ahead.
The others naturally didn’t make any sense and praised Yani for her thoughtfulness.
The group quickly embarked on their expedition. Along the way, Isabella couldn’t help but ask, “Uncle Alfred, why isn’t the water falling? Is there some kind of formation?”
“That’s far beyond the scope of formations and technology. The only things capable of this are water-related artifacts and sea-controlling abilities like Young Master Zu.”
Zuan shook his head slightly. “I might be able to temporarily manipulate the water to create this kind of space, but this place has clearly endured countless ages. I certainly can’t maintain it for that long.”
While the Seagod’s Crown could control the sea, it also consumed his own energy.
Maintaining this space permanently would be impossible, even if he died of exhaustion.
The other guests reacted with excitement, thinking there might be some kind of water-related artifact here. Obtaining it would be a lucrative opportunity… But
Yani poured cold water on the situation: “There’s another possibility: divine power.”
This struck a chord with the crowd. A true god could indeed accomplish this with ease.
Considering the divine messenger Arati, could this really be the legendary burial place of the God of Death?
But the surroundings didn’t even hint at the aura of death; it didn’t quite resemble that.
The surroundings looked much like land, except the forest wasn’t filled with trees, but rather fossilized marine plants.
Instead, they encountered bizarre reefs, creating an eerie and terrifying atmosphere.
Isabella instinctively grasped Zaun’s hand, leaning closer to him, as if only in his presence could she feel safe.
Alfred chuckled, following silently behind.
Suddenly, Tingxue, who was walking ahead, stopped and asked, “Did you hear any strange noises?”
Yani hummed, “Something rustling.”
Everyone was on high alert; no one dared to be careless in such an environment.
But with so many powerful individuals present, even if a monster appeared, it shouldn’t be a big deal.
Suddenly, a metallic black beetle appeared from the surrounding reefs, seemingly observing them curiously.
“It’s a little bug!” Many guests breathed a sigh of relief.
Only Alfred’s eyes flashed with suspicion, followed by a surge of utter fear. “Run! It’s a Soul Devourer!”
He dragged Isabella forward, causing Zaun to stumble.
A tall guest frowned, “It’s just a small bug! Refined in an instant!”
With a flick of his hand, the bug was grasped. A flame erupted from his palm, instantly incinerating such a bug.
However, his smile froze as the flame dwindled. Then, a sharp pain pierced his palm, and a swelling rapidly moved up his arm. Wherever it passed, the flesh withered, like a mummy.
