Keyboard Immortal - Chapter 2739

1252: Under the Ocean
Those who had just flown out were no weaklings, but the piercing screams they heard as they fell sent chills down their spines.
With their previous experience as a warning, the others dared not move rashly. They had realized that once they left the ship’s perimeter, the suction created by the massive vortex’s hollow center would be unstoppable.
Those on board were barely holding on, likely thanks to the ship’s built-in defenses.
Even so, everyone was already staggering. Yani shouted, “Everyone, hold onto the nearby railings to stabilize yourselves. Don’t get thrown out!”
Even without her words, everyone was already doing just that, clinging to whatever they could.
Unfortunately, the force of the whirlpool was too great, and the terrifying suction began to ineffectively infect the ship’s defenses.
Many crew members gave up and were thrown out.
The passengers on board were all strong enough to cling to the railings, but the vortex’s pulling force was too great, and the sturdy hull gradually gave way, creaking and groaning.
Before everyone could react, some railings suddenly broke, and several guests were thrown out because they were unable to react in time.
Fortunately, they all had special skills. In critical moments, they either stretched their arms or extended hooks. After all, they managed to grab the stern of the warship and barely stayed on board.
Alfred protected Isabella behind him, shielding her from the huge waves rushing around: “Miss, you must hold on tight!”
Isabella hummed, and although her face was pale, she still held on tightly to the railing beside her.
Alfred blocked most of the danger for her, and she was under much less pressure than others.
At this time, Zuan and Tingxue were together at the bow. Compared to the others, Tingxue’s feet seemed to be nailed to the deck, and the tearing force around her seemed to have no effect on her at all.
“Can’t you control the water?” Seeing the embarrassment of the others, she suddenly spoke.
Zaun shook his head slightly. “There seems to be a strange force mingling with this water, one I can’t control.”
Just then, a tooth-grinding scraping sound erupted, and the cables on the deck snapped, transforming into whistling whips.
The surviving crew members barely had time to react before they were snapped in two by the lazy swing.
The weight of the cables on such a massive warship, combined with the suction of the vast vortex, instantly transformed into a whip of destruction.
The massive cables whipped directly towards Isabella. Alfred, startled, quickly threw himself in front of them, arms crossed, a phantom resembling a tortoise shell.
Boom!
Alfred successfully blocked the lash, but he couldn’t help but spit out a mouthful of blood.
He was utterly astonished. How could such a powerful force have been so powerful?
At this moment, the situation intensified. It turned out that the cable snap was a sign that the entire ship had reached its limit. The hull could no longer support itself, and with a crack, it broke through.
The back half of the ship was sucked away in the blink of an eye.
“My lady!” Alfred had just blocked a fatal blow, and his old strength had worn out and his new strength had not yet emerged, so he had no time to react.
Isabella was panicked, and subconsciously stretched out her hand to grab something, but unfortunately there was nothing she could grab.
She opened her mouth to call for help, but the sound was lost in the roar of the surrounding waves in the blink of an eye.
Seeing this, Zaun dodged and used Teleport to switch places with Isabella.
During the whole process, the back half of the ship was torn into pieces by the terrifying vortex, and he didn’t even have time to teleport. He could only use Teleport to move Isabella to the bow, and he appeared at the place where she had just stood.
Isabella suddenly appeared at the bow and almost lost her balance. Tingxue next to her was quick-witted and supported her directly.
Finally reacting, she anxiously gazed at the rear half of the ship plummeting into the abyss. Tears welled up in her eyes as she saw it ripped to shreds. “Brother Zu!”
Tingxue reacted even faster, ripping through a nearby railing. A second later, it vanished, and Zuan was back on board.
Tingxue grabbed him back, too. Feeling her cold skin, he looked at her with lingering fear. “Thank you!”
The suddenness of the situation had left him with no time to react. He instinctively rushed to save Isabella, forgetting that there was nothing on the bow to teleport back.
All the loose objects had already been flung out of the ship, leaving only the entire ship and the others. If Tingxue hadn’t quickly created a railing for him, he wouldn’t have been able to teleport back.
It was truly admirable that, despite their recent acquaintance, she hadn’t even seen him teleport before, and her quick, accurate judgment was truly impressive.
Tingxue nodded slightly. By then, Isabella, tears welling in her eyes, had embraced Zuan. “Brother Zu, thank you! I was so scared when I saw you almost disappear!”
The girl’s body was limp, and Zuan glanced at Tingxue awkwardly.
For some reason, she looked just like Yan Xuehen, and he felt as if he’d been caught in the act.
Tingxue, however, turned her head away, as if she hadn’t noticed.
Alfred hurried over, “Thank you, sir!”
The thought that if it weren’t for Zuan, the young lady would have perished filled him with dread, and he didn’t even realize that her clinging to a young man was unbecoming of a noble lady.
“It’s a shame we couldn’t save those others,” Zuan said, his face heavy with worry, as he gazed down at the wreckage of the ship in the swirling abyss. He had almost been unable to return.
The others offered words of comfort, knowing he wasn’t to blame. Suddenly, someone asked curiously, “Hey, why was that half of the ship ripped apart instantly, but our half is fine?”
Everyone was stunned by this.
If that half hadn’t been ripped to pieces, the situation wouldn’t have been so dangerous. But why was that half still intact?
“I’m afraid it’s the key in his hand. It should protect a certain area, but the entire warship is so huge, so those in the rear who weren’t within that area couldn’t hold out,” Yani said in a deep voice.
Upon hearing her words, everyone’s faces changed, and they all moved closer to Zuan, fearing they would stray too far and leave the protective circle.
Zuan was about to say something, but the ship was already being sucked deeper into the vortex. Even with the key protecting them, the vortex’s power was still there, and half the ship was rapidly tumbling. Everyone felt like they were in a washing machine. Although the remaining ones were strong and could hold on at first, they were soon shaken and dizzy by the terrifying power of the vortex.
Isabella was so frightened that her mind went blank. Instinctively, she clung to Zuan tightly, only then did she feel a little bit of security.
After an unknown amount of time, Zaun finally awoke, finding himself submerged in water, scattered with ship debris.
He looked up, only to discover that overhead, instead of sea, lay a vast
expanse of blue sky. However, upon seeing the vast figures swimming across the sky, he realized that the blue wasn’t sky, but water, and that he was beneath the ocean.
