1248: The Devil’s Eye

Taking in everyone’s expressions, Zuan pondered, “It seems their motives for this voyage may not be so innocent.

” He said nothing, putting the key away. “Miss Yani, could you please hurry up a bit?”

Having been delayed for most of the day by the bone dragon, he grew increasingly concerned for Fireworks’ safety.

Yani had just been rescued, and he wanted to repay her. He immediately commanded his men to maneuver the warship into full speed.

Along the way, people approached Zuan, clearly drawn to his remembered identity and the special abilities he had just displayed.

But Zuan, worried about Fireworks, could only manage them absentmindedly.

Perhaps because of the noise of the previous battle, the monsters in the sea had fled, but the journey remained relatively peaceful. Soon, the thunderclouds were sighted in the distance. A wave

of exclamations echoed from the ship. Although everyone had heard Zuan mention them before, they had always felt he was exaggerating.

Now, seeing them with their own eyes, they realized the thunderstorm was even more terrifying than they had imagined.

Bolts of lightning, as thick as buckets, filled the air. An ordinary cultivator would likely be annihilated if touched.

Yani approached Zuan. “Are you sure your friend is in there?”

Zuan nodded. “She’s been taken there.”

He could communicate with the creatures of the ocean; many of them had told him so.

“Our ship’s defenses can only support searching within the outer reaches of the thunderstorm. If we find nothing, we’ll have to return,” Yani reminded him again.

Zuan addressed the others, “Thank you for your kind assistance, but the situation ahead is too dangerous. You don’t need to risk it with me. I noticed a lifeboat on board; you can wait outside.”

Everyone remarked that he was being too reserved and volunteered to go in and help.

First, he had already proven his worth, so it was always right to do a favor.

Second, those who could come here were all powerful beings from various worlds, possessing immense self-confidence. Furthermore, the area ahead looked extraordinary, and everyone was curious, wondering if there might be some opportunity there.

Isabella then said, “Brother Zu, since we’ve all come out to rescue people, there’s no reason to go back now. Don’t worry about us. If we feel we can’t hold on any longer, we’ll leave.”

Zuan bowed to everyone and said, “Thank you very much!”

Yani then commanded the warship to enter the thunderstorm cloud. Even as they reached the edge, they could feel the hurricane’s force. The waves surged with such force that any single wave was taller than the warship.

Fortunately, Zuan used the power of the Crown of Poseidon to control the surrounding waters, allowing the warship to sail smoothly.

Although it wasn’t the first time those on board had seen him use this power, they were still shocked by the scene.

Alfred couldn’t help but sigh, “This kind of water control ability has only been seen in a handful of water and sea gods, but none of those are as…young as you.”

Zuan smiled, “You’re trying to say I’m not as renowned as they are, aren’t you?”

Alfred smiled back, “Your Excellency possesses a broad mind. No wonder you received our Chamber of Commerce’s most precious Friendship Badge.”

Isabella softly said, “Brother Zu, after this is over, come to my house and play.”

The others around him were filled with envy. They knew what such a young lady’s invitation meant, and the key was to invite her home.

Was the Arcadia family about to gain a new son-in-law?

“Now that this is over, I need to go home. My wife is probably worried about my safety,” Zuan replied, glancing at Tingxue. She looked uncanny like Yan Xuehen.

Everyone looked at him with a strange expression. This guy already had a wife, yet he was desperately trying to save another woman, and most importantly, he was watching Tingxue, hanging on to Miss Isabella.

This behavior wasn’t just about having one’s cake and eating it too; it was practically taking everything with it.

Isabella was taken aback for a moment, then said, “Family is indeed the most important thing. I wonder if I could visit Big Brother Zu’s world? I imagine it must be a beautiful place.”

The guests exchanged glances of surprise. They had just been licking their lips for a while, and while Isabella had been politely responding, a sense of distance was palpable.

They had never expected her to be so proactive.

Even Alfred frowned slightly. The eldest daughter’s status was special, and her every word and action could easily spark speculation from various factions. Her initiative to visit a young man’s hometown wasn’t a good idea.

But he knew the eldest daughter’s heart was pure and innocent, and she certainly had no ulterior motives, so he ultimately didn’t stop her.

Zuan smiled faintly, “My hometown is indeed a beautiful place. We’re honored to have Isabella here.”

“Then it’s a deal!” Isabella’s face flickered with a sweet smile, warming everyone’s heart.

She was like a young sister full of energy, always bringing joy.

As they spoke, the warship had already entered the thunderstorm. Thick bolts of lightning, nearly purple in color, were already striking down, each one rivaling the power of a calamity.

Everyone on board tensed, many drawing their weapons to intercept the lightning.

However, as the lightning struck the warship, it was intercepted by a sudden, transparent shield, disintegrating into countless tiny bolts that slithered in all directions.

Everyone was astonished at the Dreamland’s formidable capabilities; a simple warship could possess such a formidable shield.

Zuan saw that the shields combined technological sophistication with formations, seemingly specifically optimized for lightning strikes.

It seemed the Dreamland had encountered this place before…

Although the shields could withstand the incoming lightning, everyone remained uneasy. Visibility was extremely low; even the experts could only see a few hundred meters.

The feeling of a dark cloud looming over the city, threatening to destroy it, filled everyone with a sense of oppression.

“It’s very similar to the end of a world I experienced before. Not long after, that world was completely torn apart.”

“Could it be that the believers of annihilation have been here before?”

…

After advancing for a while, even the powerful battleships of the Dream Land were blown to and fro, as if they would capsize at any moment.

At this time, Alfred said in a deep voice: “This storm reminds me of a planet we passed by before. There was a storm on that planet with a diameter of tens of millions of miles. The storm could be seen from the universe. Therefore, there was only death on that planet, no living things.”

“But we haven’t seen storms of this scale in the universe before,” Isabella asked doubtfully.

“Miss, have you forgotten that we were surrounded by clouds all the way down here? Even if there was a storm like this in the distance, we wouldn’t be able to see it,” Alfred explained.

Isabella couldn’t help but look at Yani: “Sister Yani, how big is this storm?”

Yani said in a deep voice: “This storm has existed in the Dream Sea for a long time. We call it the Devil’s Eye. At first, it wasn’t that big, only a thousand miles in radius, and it has always been very stable. But in the past few hundred years, for some reason, the Devil’s Eye has suddenly become manic, its range has been getting bigger and bigger, and the speed of its expansion has surprised us.”
