Chapter 885 World Invasion, Ancient Secrets

“This is a long story…”

Daoist Guixu paused, seemingly organizing his thoughts.

His illusory figure swayed slightly, as if recalling a long-buried past.

“Child, do you know that beyond this starry sky, there are other worlds?”

Lu Qing’s heart stirred, and he nodded: “This disciple knows, the Dark Abyss, it is said to be connected to another world.”

A hint of surprise flashed in Daoist Guixu’s eyes: “Oh, you actually know about the Dark Abyss, it seems you have been there?”

Lu Qing nodded: “Not long ago, this disciple entered the Dark Abyss with a divine sense avatar and saw the corpse of the Xuanhua Great Power.”

“Xuanhua…” Daoist Guixu was silent for a while after hearing this name before saying, “I didn’t expect that you not only entered the Dark Abyss, but also went deep into that place. When I went in there, I was also very careful, as if walking on thin ice.”

Lu Qing nodded and briefly recounted what he had seen and heard in the Dark Abyss.

He began by recounting his encounter with Qiu Ruofeng, then his journey into the Demon Abyss, his encounter with the demonic fire monsters, and finally, his entry

into the great black tomb where he saw Xuanhua’s corpse seated on the white jade throne. He didn’t go into too many details, only giving a general account of what happened, including the sheer number and strength of the demonic fire monsters, and the eerie sight of Xuanhua

‘s corpse being half light and half darkness. Guixu Daoist listened attentively without interrupting Lu Qing.

However, when Lu Qing mentioned that the dark power in the Dark Demon Abyss was weakening, his illusory body trembled slightly.

After Lu Qing finished speaking, he remained silent for a long time.

The hall fell into complete silence.

The old Azure Dragon and the others also listened quietly, without uttering a word.

After a while, Guixu Daoist sighed and slowly began to speak.

“As expected, the Dark Abyss has changed. No wonder even you Dao Integration Realm cultivators could return safely after entering.

When I went in, the dark power there was much denser than it is now.

My avatar, even though it only went in to explore, was almost corrupted and its divine sense was damaged.”

He looked at Lu Qing, his gaze profound.

“You guessed right. The depths of the Dark Abyss do indeed connect to another world, and the reason I left this starry sky back then was actually related to this.”

Lu Qing listened attentively without interrupting.

Gui Xu Dao Ren continued, “It all started with one person.”

He paused, his gaze becoming distant, as if traversing endless time and returning to that distant era.

“That was when I was young, having just entered the Dao Transformation Realm, full of vigor and ambition, wanting to travel the entire starry sky and explore all its mysteries. It was during that time that I met someone.”

“Someone?” Lu Qing asked.

Guixu Daoist nodded: “A Dao Transformation Immortal, he was knowledgeable and eloquent, knowing many secrets even I was unaware of.

I was young then, and admired him immensely, considering him a close friend, inviting him to travel the starry sky together and explore its mysteries.”

Lu Qing nodded slightly, his gaze inadvertently sweeping over the old Azure Dragon and the others.

He was slightly taken aback.

The old Azure Dragon, the black bull, and the Mingfeng all wore expressions of resentment.

Anger flashed in the old Azure Dragon’s eyes, the black bull’s eyes were wide open, and it was breathing heavily through its nostrils. Although the Mingfeng maintained a semblance of elegance, its phoenix eyes were also filled with indignation.

Lu Qing was puzzled but did not interrupt Guixu Daoist’s narration.

Guixu Daoist continued, “We traveled together for a while.

Those days were truly joyful.

We explored many ancient ruins together, studied many profound cultivation techniques together, and discussed the mysteries of the starry sky together.

I thought I had found a true confidant.”

His voice lowered.

“However, gradually, I discovered something was amiss.”

“What was amiss?” Lu Qing asked.

Guixu Daoist said, “Although that man appears refined and speaks eloquently, he actually possesses a rather insane heart.

Especially when he talks about those lowly cultivators and mortals, his tone is filled with contempt.

In his eyes, those people are nothing but ants, weeds, insects that can be crushed at will.”

He sighed and continued, “At first, I didn’t pay much attention.

I also know that this world is a dog-eat-dog world, where the strong are respected.

Every strong person has their own attitude towards the world.

I myself have compassion for the lowly beings, but I’m not so arrogant as to expect others to feel the same way.”

“Until something happened,” Guixu Daoist’s voice became heavy, “that thing made me realize that I and he are fundamentally different.”

Lu Qing listened quietly.

Guixu Daoist said, “That time, he and I used our divine sense to create clones, concealing our cultivation levels, and entered a small world to travel.

That small world was very ordinary, with thin spiritual energy and no powerful figures.

We were like two ordinary wandering Daoists, walking through those cities and villages, experiencing the lives of mortals.”

“One day, we came to a city.

The city wasn’t large, but it had hundreds of thousands of inhabitants.

The streets were bustling with people.

We were walking along the street, looking for a place to rest. Just then, an accident happened.”

“A mortal accidentally bumped into him.”

Guixu Daoist’s voice carried a hint of anger, which hadn’t subsided even after hundreds of thousands of years.

“Just an ordinary mortal, a peddler carrying a load on a shoulder pole. Because there were so many people on the street, his load accidentally touched the man’s sleeve. Just such a small thing, just such a small bump.”

His voice turned cold.

“Then, that man did something I can never forgive.”

“What did he do?” Lu Qing asked.

Guixu Daoist closed his eyes, as if unwilling to recall that scene.

“He used his supernatural powers to refine all the living beings in that entire city.”

Lu Qing’s pupils contracted slightly.

The living beings in that entire city numbered at least hundreds of thousands of lives.

Guixu Daoist continued, “I was caught off guard and had no time to stop him.

I could only watch helplessly as those mortals, their bodies and souls alike, were refined into nothingness in the blink of an eye.

Their wails, their curses, their despair—all vanished in that instant.”

He opened his eyes, a flicker of pain in them.

“And after refining the life of an entire city, that man still didn’t stop.

Because the curses uttered by those beings during the refining process angered him.

He actually said he would refine the entire small world, to let those ants know the consequences of offending him.”

Lu Qing remained silent.

He had witnessed many cruel things, but the casual slaughter of an entire world’s life still chilled him to the bone.

Guixu Daoist said, “At this point, I finally couldn’t stand it anymore, and I intervened to stop him.”

“And then?” Lu Qing asked.

Guixu Daoist said, “Then, we fought.

That battle went from that small world to the depths of the starry sky.

From divine sense avatars to our respective main bodies, the battle ultimately ended in my victory.”

“I suppressed him.” Guixu Daoist paused, “But after I suppressed him, he begged for mercy.

He immediately swore an oath, saying that from then on he would never again arbitrarily kill any low-level cultivator or mortal.”

He said he knew he was wrong, that he acted impulsively, and that he was willing to spend the rest of his life atoning for his sins.

Guixu Daoist’s voice carried a hint of bitterness.

“Thinking of our years of friendship, and seeing that he had indeed made a vow to the Great Dao, I softened and released him.”

Hearing this, Lu Qing had already vaguely guessed what was to come.

Guixu Daoist continued, “However, it was precisely this moment of weakness that ultimately led to a grave mistake.”

He sighed, saying, “After that person left, for thousands of years afterward, he indeed behaved himself, secluded himself to heal his injuries, and never came out to do evil again.

Seeing this, I thought he had truly reformed, so I went into seclusion to cultivate with peace of mind.”

“Until one day…” Guixu Daoist’s voice became low, “I was awakened by an incredibly strong resentment in the starry sky.”

“Resentment?” Lu Qing frowned.

Guixu Daoist nodded: “The strength, density, and intensity of that resentment were simply unprecedented.”

That was the resentment that could only be formed by billions of living beings wailing and cursing simultaneously.

After I was awakened, I had a vague premonition. So, I did some calculations.

He looked at Lu Qing, his eyes filled with deep regret.

“The result of the calculation filled me with shock and anger.

It turns out that the Dao Transformation Immortal whom I once regarded as a ‘confidant’ had actually refined the beings of dozens of small and medium-sized worlds during my seclusion.

The number of wronged souls he caused was far more than billions!

Even some of my disciples had perished at his hands!”

Lu Qing was shocked.

The beings of dozens of worlds—what an enormous number!

Daoist Guixu said, “After learning all this, I was extremely shocked and angry. I immediately left seclusion to intercept and kill that demon. I am good at divination, and through the entanglement of cause and effect, I quickly found his trail.” “

But…” He paused, his voice heavy with emotion, “After a brief exchange, I discovered that his cultivation had increased dramatically. I don’t know what kind of demonic art he had cultivated, but his strength had skyrocketed, and even I could no longer easily suppress him.” “

In the end, I had to use my trump card and pay a considerable price to completely suppress him, but at the last moment, a wisp of his remnant soul escaped.”

Guixu Daoist looked at Lu Qing, his gaze grave.

“And the direction he fled was none other than the Dark Abyss.”

Lu Qing’s heart skipped a beat.

The Dark Abyss again.

Guixu Daoist continued, “I was seriously injured at the time and dared not advance rashly, so I had to retreat temporarily and return to seclusion to recuperate. This recuperation lasted for thousands of years.”

“Thousands of years later, my injuries finally healed. I was concerned about the remnant soul of that demon, so I entered the Dark Abyss in an avatar to see if he was still alive and if he was still committing evil.”

He paused, then continued, “I used to be very wary of the Dark Abyss.”

“After all, legend has it that in ancient times, this Demon Abyss caused the deaths of many Dao Transformation Immortals.

But in order to eliminate that evil spirit, I decided to take this risk.”

“And it was this exploration that allowed me to discover a tremendous secret.”

Guixu Daoist looked at Lu Qing, his gaze profound.

“Deep within the Dark Demon Abyss, I saw Xuanhua’s corpse.”

Lu Qing nodded; he already knew this.

Guixu Daoist continued, “But you may not know what Xuanhua’s corpse is suppressing.”

“Suppressing what?” Lu Qing asked. Guixu

Daoist slowly said, “Suppressing a passage to another world.” Lu Qing

frowned.

Guixu Daoist explained, “Deep within the Dark Demon Abyss, there is a passage connecting to another world.

That world is extremely dangerous, containing beings we cannot even imagine.

And Xuanhua’s corpse sits upon that passage, using its own body to suppress it, preventing anything inside from escaping.”

He paused, then continued, “Moreover, within Xuanhua’s corpse, I also sensed a powerful will.” “

A thought?” Lu Qing asked.

Guixu Daoist nodded: “That thought was very weak; it must have been left behind by Xuanhua before his fall. It told me a secret about the ancient era.”

Lu Qing’s spirits lifted.

The ancient era!

Guixu Daoist slowly said: “That thought said that in ancient times, the human race and the witch race fought a great war, and the human race ultimately won. This should have been a time for recuperation, but not long after, a rift appeared in the starry sky.”

“A rift?” Lu Qing’s heart stirred, recalling the prophecy that Qiu Ruofeng had once made.

Guixu Daoist nodded: “That rift connects to another world.

From the rift, a kind of inexplicable evil creature emerged.

These evil creatures are incredibly powerful, and their cultivation is completely different from that of our world.

More importantly, they are extremely cruel and bloodthirsty, devouring almost any living being they see.”

His voice became solemn.

“And their greatest goal is to directly devour the origins of various life worlds.” Lu

Qing’s pupils contracted slightly.

Devouring the origin of the world?

Guixu Daoist continued, “The powerful humans at that time expended a great deal of effort to annihilate the first batch of evil creatures.

But even so, the starry sky was severely damaged.

Many life worlds were torn apart, their origins devoured, and they were completely destroyed.”

“And those powerful beings, through soul-searching of the evil creatures, discovered a terrifying fact.”

“What fact?” Lu Qing asked.

Guixu Daoist said, “Those evil creatures were just the vanguard.

They came from another world, and the powerful beings of that world are coveting our starry sky.

Before long, more evil life forms will come here and devour us all.”

Lu Qing remained silent.

Guixu Daoist continued, “After learning of this news, the powerful humans discussed it and finally made a decision.”

“What decision?” Lu Qing asked.

Guixu Daoist said, “They decided to take the initiative.

They absolutely could not allow the great war to take place in their own starry sky.”

Otherwise, even if they eventually manage to annihilate all the invaders, the entire starry sky will be riddled with holes and suffer devastating losses.

Those inhabited worlds, those mortal beings, will all be reduced to ashes in this great war.”

“So, they chose to take the initiative?” Lu Qing asked.

Guixu Daoist nodded: “Yes, at that time, the most powerful beings of the human race entered another world through coordinates obtained from the souls of evil creatures to ambush those evil beings. Among those powerful beings was Xuanhua.”

He paused, then continued: “Furthermore, for the safety of their own starry sky, after those powerful beings left, they sealed the passage and coordinates of this world to prevent the enemy from discovering it.

They were prepared to die, willing to use their lives to fight for a glimmer of hope for this starry sky.” Hearing this, Lu

Qing felt a surge of indescribable emotion.

Those ancient powerful beings had chosen to take the initiative to protect this starry sky

. They were willing to sacrifice their lives for its peace.

Lu Qing remained silent for a moment, then asked, “If that’s the case, how did the Dark Abyss appear?

And why did the Xuanhua corpse appear there?

Also, why are there so few records of those ancient powerful beings in the starry sky these days?”

Guixu Daoist looked at him and slowly said, “That involves another hidden secret.”
