Chapter 883 Returning to the Void Divine Thoughts, a Wait of Three Hundred Thousand Years

Lu Qing followed the old Azure Dragon through the many palaces of the Immortal Palace, delving deeper into its depths.

The Immortal Palace was far more vast than he had imagined.

When he first came to the Guixu Secret Realm, although he had entered the Immortal Palace, his cultivation was still shallow, and his movements were limited, so he hadn’t ventured deep inside.

Most of the time, he had only spent his time in seclusion on the second floor.

Now, following the old Azure Dragon, he realized that the space within the Immortal Palace was far larger than it appeared from the outside.

There were corridors, palaces, and layers of restrictions.

Each door led to a new space.

Some spaces were incredibly spacious, with towering domes, seemingly capable of containing a small world.

Others were exquisitely small, elegantly furnished, exuding a sense of warmth.

The old Azure Dragon moved through them with practiced ease, clearly very familiar with the place.

Lu Qing noticed that this time, the old Azure Dragon wasn’t teleporting as before, but choosing to walk.

Although the old Azure Dragon walked quickly, he would subconsciously glance at the palaces after each stop, a deep sense of nostalgia in his eyes.

The black bull and the phoenix followed behind, silent the entire way, their eyes filled with reminiscence.

Clearly, these palaces and furnishings held countless memories for them—

the long years spent with the Daoist Guixu.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, the old Azure Dragon finally stopped before a grand hall.

This hall was located at the deepest part of the Immortal Palace, surrounded by layers of restrictions.

These restrictions were incredibly intricate, interlocking to form an extremely tight protective system.

Ordinary Dao Integration Realm cultivators, let alone entering the hall, would be instantly killed even if they approached the restrictions.

But for the old Azure Dragon, these restrictions were all too familiar.

It cast a spell, and the restrictions parted like ripples, revealing a passage.

“Ah Qing, come with me,” the old Azure Dragon said, stepping into the passage first.

Lu Qing followed.

Passing through the restrictions, they entered the hall.

The hall was spacious, with few furnishings.

Countless ancient runes were engraved on the surrounding walls, emitting a faint glow.

Nine fist-sized pearls were inlaid on the dome, each emitting a soft light that illuminated the entire hall as if it were daytime.

In the very center of the hall stood a statue.

The statue was only one person tall, much smaller than the one Lu Qing had seen in another dimension when he became a disciple.

However, it was exquisitely carved, every detail lifelike.

It depicted a middle-aged scholar, with a lean face, clear features, and three long strands of beard. He wore a Taoist robe and stood with his hands behind his back.

His gaze was deep and far-reaching, as if gazing into the endless distance, or perhaps looking down upon all living beings. His

demeanor and bearing clearly indicated that he was no ordinary person.

It was none other than Guixu Daoren.

Lu Qing quietly gazed at the statue, a sense of感慨 (gǎnkǎi, a feeling of deep emotion or reflection) welling up within him.

He had also seen a statue of Guixu Daoren when he performed the disciple-acceptance ceremony.

That statue was a hundred feet tall, majestic and solemn, its imposing presence inspiring an urge to bow in reverence.

The statue before them, though much smaller, felt more real and i*imate, as if the Daoist Guixu were standing right in front of them, ready to speak at any moment.

More importantly, when he became an apprentice, he couldn’t even make out the face of the other statue.

Now, having achieved Dao Integration, he could finally see the face of his master, whom he had never met.

The old Azure Dragon, the black bull, and the Mingfeng stood before the statue, looking up at that familiar face, their eyes filled with longing.

The old Azure Dragon’s dragon eyes shone with a crystalline light, those eyes that had witnessed countless years of vicissitudes now filled with tenderness.

It opened its mouth, as if wanting to say something, but nothing came out.

The Mingfeng’s feathers trembled slightly, its phoenix eyes unable to conceal its excitement.

It stared intently at that face, as if trying to etch that image into its heart forever.

It hadn’t seen its master for over 300,000 years, and in those long years, it had dreamed of this scene countless times, fantasizing countless times about seeing its master again.

The black bull was even more direct, tears streaming down its face.

It didn’t care about appearances; it just stood there, letting the tears flow.

It was a rough and untamed creature, never hiding its emotions; at this moment, its sorrow and longing were written all over its face.

They hadn’t seen their master for over three hundred thousand years.

Over three hundred thousand years!

For mortals, that’s countless reincarnations; for cultivators, it’s an endless expanse of time.

In this Void Realm, day after day, year after year, they guarded the secret realm left behind by their master, waiting for the day he would return.

But their master never came back.

They didn’t know where he had gone, whether he was alive or dead, or even if they would ever see him again in their lifetime.

They could only wait, only hope, only in this empty immortal palace, repeatedly recalling the days they spent with their master.

Now, standing before this statue, looking at that familiar face, those memories surged like a tide, overwhelming them with emotion.

The old Azure Dragon took a deep breath, suppressing its excitement, and said to Lu Qing.

“Ah Qing, this statue was left behind by our master.

Before he left, he instructed us that if any outstanding junior could pass his test, become his disciple, and cultivate to the Dao Integration Realm,

and if we were interested in his whereabouts, we should bring him here.”

It paused, looking at Lu Qing with a hint of apology in its eyes.

“Ah Qing, although you are exceptionally talented, you had not yet achieved Dao Integration when you left, so I didn’t bring you here. I hope you don’t mind.”

Lu Qing shook his head: “Senior is too kind. Senior Guixu Daoist had his reasons for making such an arrangement; I was indeed not qualified at the time.”

The old Azure Dragon nodded and said nothing more.

It turned around, facing the statue, and slowly raised one of its front paws.

A spell flew from its paw, transforming into a stream of light that entered the statue.

In an instant, the statue began to glow.

The light, initially faint, grew brighter and brighter, illuminating the entire hall in the blink of an eye.

Countless runes emerged from the statue’s surface, slowly rotating around it to form a mysterious pattern.

The old Azure Dragon, the black bull, and the phoenix stared intently at the statue, their eyes filled with anticipation.

They didn’t know what their master had left within it.

For over 300,000 years, they had never activated the statue, lacking a suitable candidate.

Now, finally, this day had arrived, and they wanted to know more than anyone else what their master had left behind.

The light grew stronger and brighter.

Then, a semi-illusory figure slowly emerged from the statue.

The figure was identical to the statue, the same middle-aged scholar, the same lean face, the same deep gaze.

However, at this moment, he was not a physical being, but a phantom shadow, hovering before the statue.

It was none other than the Daoist Guixu.

To be precise, it was a wisp of divine thought left behind by the Daoist Guixu years ago.

Upon seeing that figure, the old Azure Dragon trembled violently, tears welling in its eyes.

“Master!”

the black bull and the phoenix cried out simultaneously,

their excitement overflowing, causing layers of frost to condense around them.

Guixu Daoist opened his divine sense, his gaze slowly sweeping across the hall.

When he saw the old Azure Dragon and the others, a gentle smile appeared on his face.

That smile was exactly the same as it had been years ago.

“Old Azure Dragon, Black Bull, Little Phoenix,” he called softly, his voice ethereal and distant, as if from another time and space, “Long time no see.”

The old Azure Dragon said tearfully, “Master, you…you’ve finally appeared. You’ve been gone for over three hundred thousand years. We…we missed you so much.”

Guixu Daoist paused slightly.

“Over three hundred thousand years have passed…”

He looked down at his hands, then at the surrounding hall, a flicker of disbelief in his eyes.

After a moment, he sighed.

“Over three hundred thousand years…I didn’t realize it had been so long.”

He looked at the old Azure Dragon and the others, his eyes filled with deep regret.

“Over the years, you must have suffered a lot in this secret realm.”

Upon hearing this, the old Azure Dragon and the others’ eyes immediately reddened.

The old Azure Dragon forced back its tears and shook its head: “Master, you flatter us. Guarding the secret realm and your legacy is our duty.

It’s just… we’ve always worried about you, Master. We don’t know where you are now, or if you’re alright…”

Guixu Daoist was silent for a moment, then slowly spoke.

“Old Azure Dragon, I know you have many questions.

But this wisp of my divine sense is merely a thought sealed within the statue, unresponsive to external stimuli.

I don’t even know what the original body has experienced over the years, nor do I know where it is now.”

He paused, then continued: “Moreover, this wisp of my divine sense has no power; it’s just a remnant thought. I cannot contact the original body, nor can I know its current condition.”

Hearing this, the light in the old Azure Dragon’s eyes dimmed slightly.

But it still clung to a sliver of hope and asked: “Then… does Master know if the original body is still alive?”

Guixu Daoist smiled slightly, a warm and benevolent smile.

“Rest assured, since this wisp of my divine sense is still intact, it means that my true body is at least still alive.

I share the same origin as him; if he were to perish, this wisp of my divine sense would also dissipate.

My continued existence proves that he is still alive.”

Hearing this, the old Azure Dragon and the others finally breathed a sigh of relief, the weight on their hearts lifted.

Being alive is good.

As long as they are alive, there is still hope.

After a while, once they had calmed down somewhat, Guixu Daoist finally spoke, “Old Azure Dragon, what is the matter that you have awakened me for?”

The old Azure Dragon quickly stepped forward and respectfully said, “Master, before you left, you left a message

saying that if any outstanding junior could pass your test, become your disciple, and cultivate to the Dao Integration Realm ,

and if they were interested in your whereabouts, they should bring them here.

Now, that person has finally appeared.”

It turned and pointed at Lu Qing.

“It is him, Lu Qing.”

Guixu Daoist’s gaze then fell on Lu Qing.

In fact, he had already seen Lu Qing.

From the moment he appeared, he noticed this young man standing behind the old Azure Dragon.

He had been talking to the old Azure Dragon and the others and hadn’t had a chance to observe closely.

But now, when his gaze fell upon Lu Qing, he was slightly taken aback, then a strange light flashed in his eyes.

With his eyesight as a Dao Transformation Immortal, even a wisp of divine sense was enough to see through many things.

He immediately recognized that the young man before him was not his true form, but a divine sense avatar.

Divine sense avatars themselves were not rare; one could condense one after reaching the Dao Integration Realm.

What surprised him was the aura faintly revealed within Lu Qing’s avatar.

It was the aura of the Great Dao.

And not just one.

He could sense that this divine sense avatar contained the essence of multiple Great Daos.

Those essences intertwined, forming an extremely profound aura that made it clear at a glance that it was extraordinary.

The Five Elements Great Dao, the Sword Great Dao, the Power Great Dao… even the Space Great Dao!

Each essence was pure and profound.

They intertwined and complemented each other, yet there was no conflict; instead, they formed an indescribable harmony.

Guixu Daoist’s eyes widened slightly.

He looked at the old Azure Dragon, his voice filled with disbelief.

“Old Azure Dragon, this child… how long has he been at the Dao Integration stage? How can he possess so many Dao essences?”

More importantly, he could even sense the aura of the Space Dao essence on Lu Qing!

The old Azure Dragon had anticipated its master’s question. It took a deep breath, trying to calm itself, and then said, word by word,

“Master, Lu Qing… he didn’t comprehend multiple Daos after achieving the Dao Integration stage. He broke through by simultaneously fusing and entrusting nine Daos with his divine sense when he was attempting to break through to the Dao Integration stage.”

Upon hearing this, Guixu Daoist could no longer maintain his composure.

His illusory eyes suddenly widened.

“What?!”

He stared intently at Lu Qing, as if trying to see through him. Breaking through to

the Dao Integration stage by simultaneously fusing and entrusting nine Daos with his divine sense?

How could this be possible?

He had lived for countless years, seen countless brilliant geniuses, and heard countless unbelievable legends.

But he had never seen, nor heard of, anyone who could do this.

The difficulty of achieving Dao integration lies in the fusion of divine sense and the Great Dao.

The power of a single Great Dao is already enough to put immense pressure on a cultivator’s primordial spirit.

When two Great Daos are fused simultaneously, that pressure multiplies exponentially, becoming almost unbearable for anyone.

Even he himself was unable to break through by fusing two Great Daos with his divine sense.

As for more than two, that’s absolutely impossible.

Any cultivator who dares to attempt to simultaneously fuse more than two Great Daos will only suffer the fate of exploding body and soul.

This is an ironclad rule in the cultivation world, unbroken for countless years.

But now, the old Azure Dragon tells him that this young man before him has broken this ironclad rule.

He has simultaneously merged nine Great Daos!

How could Guixu Daoist not be utterly shocked and shaken to his core?

If he hadn’t been able to sense the aura of various Great Daos emanating from Lu Qing, he would have doubted whether the old Azure Dragon was talking nonsense. (End of Chapter)
