Chapter 497: Arctic Icefield, Heaven-Covering Palm

Lu Qing’s golden flying boat continued its rapid flight northward.

Soon, they entered the polar region, and the surrounding temperature plummeted.

As he and his companions hurried on,

in a frost-shrouded cave, an old man in a black robe gazed with a look of shock and anger at a shattered jade tablet in his hand.

“Heng’er’s tablet is shattered. Is he dead? Who killed him?!”

Furious, the old man immediately used his secret technique to divine the truth.

However, the results were a chaotic mess, yielding no conclusion. He had no idea who had killed his beloved disciple.

Seeing this, the old man’s expression suddenly grew solemn.

There were only two possible explanations for this outcome.

One was that someone had used a rare treasure to obscure the situation when Mo Heng was killed. The other was that

the person who had killed Mo Heng was far more advanced than he,

preventing him from deducing any clues.

Either scenario was bad news for the old man.

The former signified a powerful background and exceptional knowledge, possessing the formidable ability to conceal the secrets of the heavens before striking.

The latter was even more formidable, even more powerful than even this evil cultivator, a mere novice at the Golden Core stage. Perhaps only the most elite of the righteous cultivators could

truly match him. “What on earth did Heng’er do out there to deserve such a fatal disaster?

I warned him long ago that the forces of righteousness are so powerful these days that we should remain as patient and concealed as possible, accumulating strength for a future confrontation.

But he, having tasted the pleasure of refining human essence and blood, has become irresistible.

Now, he’s truly met his end.”

If the black-robed elder had previously harbored a lingering desire to avenge his disciple,

that simmering anger had completely dissipated when he saw he could deduced no information.

Instead, a sense of alarm took over.

He wondered if his good disciple had revealed his whereabouts before his death.

“No, we can’t stay in this cave any longer!”

He knew his good disciple was unlikely to betray him.

But the black-robed elder didn’t want to take the risk.

He no longer had any desire to avenge his disciple; he simply wanted to leave quickly and find a new place to hide.

He knew that, because of the Holy Mountain,

the righteous forces were now keen to hunt down and annihilate these evil cultivators.

So, even though his cave was protected by layers of formations, the black-robed elder didn’t dare risk staying there any longer.

“Pack up your things and leave!”

The black-robed elder was a decisive man. Having made up his mind, he immediately began to pack up the cave’s contents

, primarily the materials for the formations.

He had been managing this retreat for a long time.

Five layers of formations surrounded it, inside and out.

Most of the resources he had amassed over the years were stored there.

He only needed to collect these formation materials, and when he found his next retreat, he could set up a new cave with whatever he wanted.

The black-robed elder felt decisive enough to leave immediately upon learning of his disciple’s death.

However, just as he gathered the materials for the first layer of the formation, his body suddenly stiffened.

He sensed several auras suddenly appearing in the sky.

The black-robed old man froze in place, completely daring not to move.

While the auras in the sky weren’t powerful, only at the Xiantian realm level, he could easily crush them.

But the fact that a mere Xiantian cultivator could actually appear in the sky was extremely unusual.

Furthermore, the fact that someone had appeared above his cave just after Mo Heng’s death made it even more bizarre.

You have to know that his cave, concealed by the formation, is incredibly secretive.

Discovery by cultivators below the Jindan realm is nearly impossible.

For a moment, the black-robed elder dared not act rashly.

He vigilantly monitored the movements above, hoping the enemy had simply stumbled upon it.

He dared not even begin to dismantle and gather the materials for the formation.

If the enemy truly was coming for him, then the formation within the cave would be a tremendous aid.

“Brother, you said they’re down there?”

In the sky, Xiaoyan gazed at the vast expanse of ice below, puzzled.

To her senses, the ice below seemed ordinary, nothing special.

“No doubt about it,”

Lu Qing observed, watching the red line of causality, activated by the Xuanji Bagua Plate, descend directly below.

He could also clearly sense the flow of the formation’s energy.

“They’ve set up a formation to conceal their cave.”

Unfortunately, none of the formations they knew could block causality.

Furthermore, the opponent’s attainments in formations were modest. The formation they had set up

might have been able to conceal it from cultivators below the Jindan realm like Xiaoyan. But the formation’s aura was too obvious to a master of formations like him.

Hearing Lu Qing’s words, Xiaoyan suddenly understood.

She knew her brother was extremely proficient in formations, and if he said so, it must be true.

As for Mu Tian and the others, listening to the siblings’ conversation, they immediately looked down and observed carefully.

But with their cultivation level, how could they possibly see through the formation set up by a Jindan realm cultivator?

However, they knew Lu Qing wouldn’t just make a random statement.

Since they couldn’t discern any clues, the opponent’s formation must be far more sophisticated, far beyond their ability to penetrate.

Therefore, after observing fruitlessly,

Mu Tian asked, “Then, Senior Brother Chen, the opponent is hiding in the cave. How can we force him out?”

“Simple,” Lu Qing said calmly.

He extended his hand, spread his fingers, and slowly reached out.

Mu Tian and the others were stunned by

this. Just as they were contemplating Lu Qing’s intention

, their eyes widened.

As Lu Qing extended his hand, the atmosphere within a radius of dozens of miles suddenly changed.

The spiritual energy of heaven and earth rapidly converged

, so rapidly that it even stirred a spiritual storm!

With this terrifying amount of spiritual energy, a massive magical palm condensed at a speed visible to the n*ked eye.

A few breaths later, a massive palm, radiating a multicolored, glass-like light and stretching several miles across, appeared in the sky.

The moment the giant palm fully formed, an indescribable pressure emerged from nowhere,

completely suppressing the entire surrounding space.

“This, this…”

Such a shocking scene nearly made Mu Tian and the others’ eyes pop out of their heads.

They stared at the scene in amazement, muttering incoherently, unable to form a single sentence.

As they stared in shock, Lu Qing pressed his palm downwards.

With this movement, the massive, multicolored, glazed palm that spanned the sky stirred up countless strong winds, clawing towards the ice field below with a force so powerful it could cause the earth to collapse and the sky to fall!
