Chapter 484 Ten Years Later

Deep in the mountains, amidst towering peaks and dense forests, several figures were swiftly galloping.

One figure fled ahead, while the others pursued.

Each figure exuded a powerful aura, terrifying the birds and beasts of the mountain, sending them trembling and fleeing in all directions.

“Li Bao, don’t expect to escape! You violated the Holy Mountain’s prohibitions and, for a single magical herb, slaughtered hundreds of people from the Miao Village. You deserve death!

Do you think hiding in this remote Qiaozhou will keep you out of sight?

Even if you escape back to our sect, the Cangshan Sect would never dare to harbor you. Surrender now and follow me back to the Holy Mountain to face justice!”

Seeing the figure ahead continuing to flee, seemingly getting further and further away,

the pursuers grew anxious, and the leader shouted.

“Hahaha… little brats from the Holy Mountain, wait until you catch up with me!

I just killed some lowly people, and you expect me to take the blame for my crime on the Holy Mountain?

Pah! You Holy Mountain lackeys, one day, when my divine power reaches full strength, I will flatten this damn Holy Mountain!

Even those three old fellows of the Holy Lord will be trampled beneath my feet and made to beg for mercy!”

The figure known as Li Bao laughed heartily upon hearing this, his tone extremely arrogant. The

ones chasing him were merely brats who had just reached the Xiantian stage.

With his cultivation at the minor level of the Xiantian stage, he wasn’t afraid at all.

If he hadn’t feared the reputation of the Holy Mountain, he would have turned around and slaughtered these brats!

“How dare you insult the Holy Mountain and the Holy Lord!”

The figures chasing him were furious upon hearing this.

As members of the Holy Mountain Law Enforcement Team, both the Holy Mountain and the three Holy Lords held an unparalleled position in their hearts.

How could they not be furious to hear that Li Bao had dared to insult the Holy Mountain and the Holy Lord?

Furious, the leading young man, no longer caring for his feelings, pulled a talisman from his bosom and activated it with his mind.

The next moment, a bolt of lightning shot out from the talisman, hurtling towards Li Bao in front of him.

“What?!”

Li Bao, horrified by the sudden, deadly aura, instinctively rolled to the side, not wanting to flee any further.

Then he felt a pain in his right arm, and a flash of lightning passed by him. A

violent explosion erupted from the front.

“Ah! My right arm!”

Li Bao looked to his right in horror, only to see it was gone.

Only a small, charred fragment remained.

It was his right arm, completely severed and incinerated by the lightning.

“Li Bao, where can you escape now?”

As Li Bao clutched his severed arm, several men behind him rushed over, surrounding him and pointing their weapons at him.

The leading young man held a white talisman and pointed it at him.

The aura emanating from it sent a wave of fear through Li Bao’s heart.

“Li Bao, you have nowhere to escape. Surrender now and follow us back to the Holy Mountain!”

the young man holding the talisman said calmly.

“The Lightning Talisman! I never imagined that a mere Enforcer at the Initial Stage of the Innate Realm could possess the Lightning Talisman!”

Li Bao’s face paled as he sensed the deadly aura emanating from the talisman.

He had long heard that some of the Holy Mountain’s law enforcement teams possessed truly remarkable talismans.

However, most of them were basic talismans like the [Lightning Talisman].

As for powerful talismans like the [Lightning Talisman], they

were usually only wielded by Enforcement Teams at the Great Perfection Stage of the Innate Realm or above, or even the Foundation Establishment Stage.

He had never expected that even this team, only at the Initial Stage of the Innate Realm, could possess the [Lightning Talisman].

No wonder a mere handful of beginners dared to hunt him, a wanted criminal who had reached the minor success stage of the Xiantian Realm and was even on the verge of reaching the great success stage.

“Thanks to you, you’re actually forcing me to use the Lightning Talisman that I exchanged for with such great difficulty.”

The young man felt a pang of heartache at the thought.

This Lightning Talisman was the result of his accumulated merits over a long period of time. He

had originally intended to use it as a trump card, but he hadn’t expected it to be used prematurely on this mission.

You must know that the [Thunderbolt Talisman] can only be used three times at most.

He had already used it once before, during a crisis.

After this one, the [Thunderbolt Talisman] only had one remaining chance to be used.

“Even the credit for capturing Li Bao can’t make up for this loss,” the young man

thought, his heart bleeding. He had made every possible preparation for this capture

, even hiring experts from the Tianji Tower to calculate Li Bao’s hiding place.

However, he hadn’t anticipated that Li Bao possessed a highly advanced martial art of lightness.

Even with the [Lightness Talisman], he was still able to repeatedly throw them off, leveraging his familiarity with the terrain. The [

Lightness Talisman] was about to wear off, and if Li Bao escaped any further, their mission would be a failure.

With no other choice, the young man swallowed his heartache and used his most powerful tactic.

His eyes sharpened at the thought.

Looking at Li Bao, he said, “Seal his power and tie him up!”

“Yes!”

the other members of the law enforcement team responded in unison.

They then took out spiritual needles and inserted them into major acupoints throughout Li Bao’s body, completely blocking his power. They then bound him with strong ropes woven from the tendons of exotic beasts.

Throughout the process, the young man used talismans to control Li Bao, deterring him from any rash action.

At such close range, enveloped by the aura, any movement he made would be vulnerable to the attack of the [Thunderbolt Talisman].

A mere glancing blow severed his arm.

A direct hit would have been fatal.

Li Bao understood this, so he didn’t resist, allowing the men to seal his power and bind him.

However, his expression was completely gloomy.

He knew the Holy Mountain’s style of conduct. The sin he had committed this time was truly severe.

Once he was taken back to the Holy Mountain, he would face, if not immediate execution, then countless years of imprisonment.

The young man and his companions didn’t care about Li Bao’s thoughts.

This man, for a single spiritual herb, had slaughtered an entire village.

To say he was utterly ruthless and insane was an understatement.

As a member of the Holy Mountain’s law enforcement, he hated such wanton slaughter of civilians.

If it weren’t for the chance to bring him back and claim the credit, he would have killed him outright.

The other team members shared the same sentiment.

So, after sealing Li Bao’s cultivation and tying him up, they didn’t hesitate to carry him off, ready to return to the Holy Mountain to report.

The journey back was uneventful.

The Holy Mountain’s law enforcement team was renowned.

Even major sects were obliged to treat them with courtesy and not to embarrass them.

After all, they represented the Holy Mountain.

And within the Holy Mountain, not only were the three Holy Lords present, but behind them stood that one figure.

Every sect that had traveled to Zhongzhou to participate in the Holy Conference ten years ago

knew just how terrifying that figure truly was.

After a long journey, the young man and his companions finally arrived back in Zhongzhou.

Looking at the majestic holy mountain in the distance, a hint of enthusiasm appeared in the eyes of several people.
