Chapter 46 Is My Disciple a Genius?

“Why, you want to sell this ginseng?” the old doctor asked.

“It’s not that I absolutely have to, I just want to know its value so I can have a rough idea,” Lu Qing answered honestly.

The old doctor paused, then said, “Generally speaking, ginseng of this age is extremely sought after and in short supply.”

“Ginseng replenishes Qi and blood, strengthens the body, and in critical moments, can even be used to prolong life.”

“Those nobles and martial artists in the city have always been eager for such precious medicines.”

“Although the roots of your old wild ginseng are slightly damaged, it’s not a big deal and doesn’t affect its efficacy.”

“I just tested it, and perhaps because of its unique location, this ginseng is even more potent than ordinary century-old ginseng.”

Hearing this, Lu Qing remembered the red light of supernatural power that shone on the ginseng.

Perhaps this was why Master was talking about it being special.

“A typical century-old wild ginseng plant, in a major city, would fetch at least a thousand taels of silver.”

“One like yours is probably worth even more, but I’m not sure exactly how much.”

A thousand taels of silver! Ten times the price of Red Moon Carp!

Hearing this figure, even though Lu Qing was prepared, his heart still beat wildly.

“Are you tempted?”

The old doctor smiled at his disciple’s startled expression.

“A little,” Lu Qing nodded.

Who could remain unmoved by the mention of a thousand taels of silver?

Especially a country boy like him.

“However, although this ginseng is worth a fortune, I still suggest you don’t trade it for silver.” The old doctor’s tone suddenly changed.

“Master, why is that?” Lu Qing asked, startled.

“Don’t you want to practice martial arts? This ginseng happens to be one of the best supplementary herbs for Qi and Blood Realm warriors.”

“Didn’t I say before that I wanted to make you some Qi and Blood Reinforcing Essence Soup? But this hundred-year-old ginseng, if used properly, is even more effective than that.”

“With its help, it will be much easier for you to enter the Qi and Blood Realm.”

“I’ll refine it into a Blood and Qi Replenishing Pill for you. Once you’ve mastered the Yang Shen Fist, take one pill daily. In no time, you’ll officially enter the Qi and Blood Realm.”

Such good news?

This was truly a pleasant surprise.

Lu Qing was pleasantly surprised.

He had been worrying about how to quickly enter the Qi and Blood Realm, but he hadn’t expected a solution to come so soon.

“So, do you still want to sell this ginseng, or keep it for yourself?” the old doctor asked.

Lu Qing didn’t hesitate: “Master, please help me refine it into a pill!”

“Oh, have you thought it through?” the old doctor looked at him and said.

“Yes, no matter how good money is, it’s ultimately just a material possession, not as important as your own abilities,” Lu Qing said.

“It’s good that you’ve realized this,” the old doctor nodded, stroking his beard. “In this world, nothing is more important than your own abilities. Without abilities, even if you have a lot of money, you won’t be able to keep it.”

“Since you’ve made up your mind, I’m free these two days. I’ll refine this ginseng into a Qi-tonifying and Blood-replenishing Pill for you.”

“Thank you, Master!” Lu Qing said happily.

“Don’t be too happy,” the old doctor said, giving him a slap on the wrist. “Even if I refine the pill, you won’t be able to take it until you’ve mastered the Health-Nourishing Fist.”

“Otherwise, even if you take the pill, it’ll be a waste of its power.” “Mastering

the Fist?”

Lu Qing’s heart stirred, and he suddenly said, “Master, after I went back yesterday, I’ve been studying the boxing techniques you taught me. I seem to have grasped a key to it. I’m not sure if I’ve grasped it correctly, so I’d appreciate your guidance.”

“Oh, you’ve grasped it so quickly?”

The old doctor was intrigued, but he didn’t take Lu Qing seriously.

He simply assumed he’d mastered the techniques and wanted to show them off.

“Then demonstrate them. I’ll see what you’ve figured out.”

“Yes, Master.”

Lu Qing immediately set up his fists and began practicing Forms 1 through 9 of the Yangshen Quan.

As Lu Qing began practicing the first form, the old doctor watched with a smile.

But when he finished the first and moved on to the second, his smile faded, a look of surprise forming.

He noticed that Lu Qing’s first form was not only perfectly executed and smooth, but also possessed a unique charm.

As the founder of Yangshen Quan, the old doctor naturally understood the significance of this charm.

That meant that Lu Qing had not only mastered this form to perfection, but had even incorporated a hint of his own understanding into it.

In other words, he had truly mastered this form and had begun to develop his skills.

But how was this possible?

It had only been one night since he had taught Lu Qing the boxing technique!

How could he have mastered the Yang Shen Quan to this level?

The old doctor was shocked.

However, what shocked him even more was yet to come.

He saw Lu Qing practicing the Yang Shen Quan form after form, each form connecting smoothly and moving as he wished.

After practicing nine forms, he continued practicing from the first form.

Over and over again, Lu Qing practiced the first to ninth forms of the Yang Shen Quan with complete ecstasy.

After practicing nine times, he slowly stopped, exhaled a breath of foul air, and stood there with a rosy complexion and a radiant look.

As for the old doctor, his face was already filled with shock, and he stood there dumbfounded.

“Master, how is it? Did I do anything wrong?” Lu Qing asked energetically.

“Nine Transformations Return to Origin, Qi and blood are invigorated, and the spirit is refreshed. This means I’ve fully mastered the Yang Shen Fist.”

The old doctor seemed not to hear Lu Qing’s words, but only muttered to himself.

“Master, what’s wrong with you?”

Lu Qing asked, seeing the old doctor’s expression.

He was also a little worried. Wouldn’t his little demonstration scare the master?

“Ah Qing, tell me the truth!” The old doctor’s face suddenly became serious, startling Lu Qing. “What did you encounter when you went back to practice yesterday?”

“What did you encounter?” Lu Qing thought for a moment and replied. “Yesterday, after I went back, I was practicing in the courtyard. As I was practicing, I felt a sudden surge of insights. Involuntarily, my body followed the key points taught by the master.”

“When I came to my senses, I felt relaxed and refreshed. I suddenly understood a lot more about the key points of practicing the Yang Shen Fist from the first nine forms. It was no longer obscure as before.”

Lu Qing was actually describing the state he had experienced after using his supernatural power to practice, but he had concealed the existence of this power.

However, these words, to the old doctor’s ears, were like thunder.

“Epiphany…it’s actually epiphany,” the old doctor muttered.

He looked at Lu Qing as if he were looking at some rare treasure.

“The disciple I just took in is actually a martial arts genius who was able to achieve epiphany during his first practice?”
