Chapter 20 Fish Stone Pendant (Please collect and read)

Lu Qing didn’t remove the green turtle’s fish stone in front of Wang Da’an.

Instead, he kept it inside the turtle.

It wasn’t that he was stingy and didn’t want to show it to others, but he felt it was difficult to explain.

Now, with no one to bother him, was a perfect time to retrieve the fish stone.

Arriving in the kitchen, the green turtle’s large head lay in a wooden basin.

Lu Qing cut open the head and found the fish stone near its throat.

However, the appearance of the fish stone astonished him. In a previous life,

Lu Qing had caught a large black carp weighing over 20 kilograms and also obtained a very fine fish stone.

However, when he had retrieved that fish stone, it was more gelatinous.

After removing it, it needed to be cleaned, air-dried, and other treatments to finally obtain a good-quality fish stone.

Now, he touched the fish stone in the green turtle’s throat and found that it was not soft at all, but had hardened.

Lu Qing found a small wooden spoon and carefully dug the fish stone out.

After washing it with water and drying it, he was even more astonished when he examined it again.

This fish stone was two centimeters in size, more than half a centimeter thick, and shaped like a scallop.

Its texture was like stone and jade, and it felt warm, smooth, and very pleasant to the touch.

Its appearance was far superior to the fish stone he had carefully cared for in his previous life.

Gently playing with the jade-like fish stone in his hand, Lu Qing seemed to feel a sense of peace of mind.

He knew it was not an illusion.

Because in his vision, the fish stone in his hand was now emitting a rich white light.

[Blue Turtle Stone: A complete fish stone bred by an adult blue turtle, now jadeified.]

[Legend has it that a jade-level blue turtle stone, worn close to the body, has a calming effect on the soul and mind.]

After carefully playing with it for a while, Lu Qing found that the appearance of this fish stone was already perfect.

No additional polishing was required; it could be worn directly.

He found some tools and carefully drilled a hole in the thin end of the fish stone.

Fortunately, although the green turtle fish stone had become jade, it wasn’t as hard as other hard jades.

It didn’t take much effort for him to grind out a perfect hole.

After drilling the hole, he took out the remaining hemp rope and twisted it into a tough rope, and strung the fish stone through it.

After finishing all this, he had a simple fish stone pendant.

After admiring his work for a while, Lu Qing called Xiaoyan, who was playing in the yard, in.

“Brother, why did you call Xiaoyan?”

The little girl ran into the house happily.

“Brother made a wonderful thing and wanted to give it to you.” Lu Qing held the pendant in his hand.

“What is it?” Xiaoyan’s eyes lit up.

“This is it.”

Lu Qing pinched the rope and loosened his grip, dangling the fish stone in the air, swaying back and forth.

“Wow! What is this? It’s so beautiful!”

The little girl’s eyes widened and she stared at the pendant.

“This is a pendant. I made it with the fish stone from a big fish. You will carry it with you from now on. With it, you won’t kick off the quilt when you sleep at night.”

Lu Qing untied the hemp rope, hung the pendant on Xiaoyan’s neck, and then tied the hemp rope tightly.

The loop was relatively small, so the little girl couldn’t take the pendant off her head, lest she lose it carelessly.

“Thank you, brother. Xiaoyan likes this gift very much!”

The little girl lowered her head and played with the pendant on her neck, feeling very happy.

It was the first time for her to have her own jewelry, and it was such a beautiful stone.

Children basically have no resistance to beautiful stones.

The more Xiaoyan looked at the pendant on her neck, the more she liked it.

“As long as you like it, remember not to lose it, otherwise brother won’t be able to catch another big fish to make it for you.”

Seeing Xiaoyan couldn’t let go of the pendant, Lu Qing reminded her.

“Xiaoyan, I know. Xiaoyan will protect it!” Xiaoyan said seriously.

Seeing that the little one listened to him, Lu Qing stopped paying attention to her and let her continue playing.

He went back to the kitchen to prepare the big fish head.

At dinner, the brother and sister had a feast of fish heads.

Lu Qing grilled half of the big fish head and made soup with the other half.

The brother and sister ate it with great satisfaction.

“Brother, big fish is so delicious.”

At night, Xiaoyan slept in her little bed, touched her still full belly, and said to Lu Qing.

“As long as Xiaoyan is good, brother will make more delicious food for you in the future.”

Lu Qing pulled the corner of the quilt for the little one. Xiaoyan

used to sleep in the same room with her parents. Later, when her parents were gone, Xiaoyan always cried when she went to bed at night. The original owner moved the little bed to her own room, and Xiaoyan slept more peacefully.

“Yes, Xiaoyan will be very good!”

The little girl touched the pendant around her neck and nodded very seriously.

“Then let’s go to bed early, we still have to go to Grandpa Chen’s tomorrow.”

“Yes, Xiaoyan misses Grandpa Chen too.”

As the little girl spoke, she felt her eyelids getting heavier and heavier, and soon, she fell into a deep sleep.

Lu Qing covered her with a thin blanket with pity.

The little girl was quite tired today.

She went fishing with him and helped carry the fishing rod.

After returning, she played in the yard for most of the day.

It was good that she was not sleepy until now.

After making sure that the little girl was asleep, Lu Qing lay down on his own bed next to her.

Listening to Xiaoyan’s soft breathing, Lu Qing could not fall asleep immediately.

He was thinking about tomorrow.

Tomorrow was the day he would go to Dr. Chen for acupuncture.

According to the old doctor’s previous promise, from tomorrow on, after each acupuncture treatment, he would have half an hour to follow the old doctor to learn how to identify medicinal herbs.

Identifying medicinal herbs was secondary. With his supernatural powers to help him, Lu Qing wasn’t worried about whether he could learn.

He needed to think about how to capitalize on this opportunity to gain the old doctor’s favor and approval.

He also needed to think carefully about what Da’ang mentioned today, regarding the market.

After the past few days, Xiaoyan and he had already devoured much of the food borrowed from home.

More importantly, the salt and oil were running low.

They would be gone in a few days.

So he had to find a way to make money quickly.

It wasn’t farming season, so the land was out of the question for the time being.

Besides, he didn’t even have the money to buy seeds. He had no choice

but to look elsewhere.

The market might be a good option.

He just didn’t know what the market was like. From Da’ang’s instructions at noon, it seemed there were some special rules to follow…

All sorts of thoughts raced through Lu Qing’s mind, and his eyelids grew heavier as he thought.

Finally, he couldn’t hold back any longer and slowly fell asleep.

The room was silent, and both brother and sister were fast asleep.

Outside, the night breeze was cool and the sky was filled with stars.

Suddenly, a dark figure nimbly leaped into the yard and looked toward the fish drying under the eaves.
