CHAPTER 1625: TERRIFYING ANCIENT FORBIDDEN LAND

Accompanied by the earth-shattering sound of footsteps, a vague figure gradually became clear in the depths of the terrifying aura. It was a man holding a black banner. With a single stride, the sun and moon lost their color, the starry sky trembled, and numerous large black cracks spread out beneath his feet.

This desolate place seemed to tremble because of this man. Those terrified spirits hiding in the terrifying mist, though lacking their original consciousness, now felt a deep sense of dread, their faces filled with fear as they constantly dodged and fled into the distance.

“Are you a human, or a terrifying spirit of this place?”

Gu Xian’er stared at the man carrying the banner. This man’s face was dark blue, covered with vertical lines from head to shoulder. His black robe was tattered, half of the sleeve completely torn, leaving only a thin, branch-like hand underneath.

“That’s not important. What’s important is that you’ve crossed the border.”

The man holding the flag spoke in a cold, commanding tone, implying expulsion.

Gu Xian’er frowned, sensing a powerful aura emanating from him. This was actually a Lu Jin. In this desolate place, besides the terrifying Spirit King, was there another Lu Jin?

Or perhaps the terrifying Spirit King’s power was far beyond her imagination?

She was certain that this man holding the flag was not a real living being. Without sufficient vital energy, his presence exuded an overwhelming sense of restraint and coldness, as if he had emerged from an unknown dimension.

“I want to see the terrifying Spirit King. Get out of my way.”

Gu Xian’er said, refusing to back down. Since she had come here, she must be here to see the Spirit King.

“If you want to see the King, you must first pass through my gate.”

The man holding the banner said little, merely gently waving the black banner in his hand. Amidst the roaring sound, a majestic black dragon soared out, obscuring the sky and sun, baring its fangs and claws, instantly engulfing this desolate place. The

surging energy was incredibly intense, its boundaries unseen. All rules and order vanished within this energy, dissolving completely.

Even with each clash of these raging energies, chaotic energy could be seen emerging; unleashed outside, it could sink an entire world, reducing it to dust. Gu Xian’er also said nothing. Her eyes were cold as she swung her sword, countless strands of sword light, like a tidal wave, surging forward like a vast continent of swords, clashing with the majestic black dragon formed from that raging energy.

This force, as if capable of opening a new heaven in chaos, could destroy all things in the world. Each strand of sword light shattered and then intertwined again, like the illusory annihilation of life and death, the creation of heaven and earth.

“That’s right.”

The man holding the banner remained motionless, suddenly transforming into a black mist, sweeping the black banner in his hand and rushing forward. In that instant, the entire terrifying ancient forbidden land seemed to be about to be completely shattered into pieces, the earth shaking violently, countless terrifying spirits dissipating.

Gu Xian’er unleashed another sword light, the heavens and earth seemingly inverted. Millions of sword lights transformed into powerful beams, becoming millions of terrifying, mountain-like sword rains, blazing fiercely, sweeping across.

This sword seemed capable of splitting the universe, finally striking the black banner, wave after wave, as if it could shatter the very fabric of the sky. The crimson-clawed bird gripped Gu Xian’er’s shoulder tightly. In this impact, it felt like a withered leaf, about to shatter.

The ancient, desolate land resounded with incessant explosions; this was a commotion like the creation of heaven and earth. It was fortunate that this place was a desolate land, almost devoid of living beings, otherwise, such a commotion would undoubtedly attract the attention of the surrounding True Realms and super-multiverses.

In the end, Gu Xian’er had no choice but to unleash the Nine Forbidden Seals of the Day. A dazzling light surged, and countless chains appeared densely in the void, binding in all directions, seemingly capable of imprisoning even the Heavenly Dao itself.

The man

holding the Black Banner, whose face had initially been cold and expressionless, finally changed his demeanor upon seeing the Nine Forbidden Seals of Imprisonment. Instead of resisting, he allowed the chains of rules and order to fall upon him, binding and imprisoning him. Gu Xian’er,

seeing him suddenly withdraw, couldn’t help but feel suspicious.

In her perception, this man holding the banner was incredibly powerful, even more terrifying than many existences at the End of the Path. The Black Banner in his hand seemed to have refined countless universes and worlds within it. With each swing, the overwhelming power of this world made her feel considerable pressure.

“In this world, there are indeed hidden dragons and crouching tigers. Anyone who emerges from this forbidden land possesses the strength to resist me, ultimately forcing me to resort to the Imprisonment Seal.”

Gu Xian’er sighed softly in her heart.

But at this moment, the man holding the Black Banner was even more terrified than she was.

He considered himself to have survived a chaotic era, still retaining some of his True Spirit memories. Only he knew how powerful he truly was in his lifetime; he had once reached the supreme shattering stage.

In his hand was the Black Banner, called the “No-Existence Banner.” The so-called “No-Existence” was a substance from that chaotic era, and it could also be said that the current ancient forbidden land was created for that “No-Existence.”

He wielded the “No-Existence Banner,” traversing countless trillions of eras in that chaotic era. Although his current strength was less than one ten-thousandth, he never imagined he would be defeated by such a young girl.

Moreover, most importantly, he clearly saw the techniques Gu Xian’er employed.

“Imprisoning the Day One Dao, the Day Six Meridians—in this era, does such a lineage still exist?”

The man muttered to himself. Gu Xian’er said nothing more, but coldly stared at him.

After a moment, the man’s gaze changed to one of complexity, no longer cold as before, and he said, “Of course it’s the day of the Six Meridians’ successor, so you may go in. The master will surely meet you.”

Within the Ancient Forbidden Land, the most powerful being is not the Fearful Spirit King; it could be said that the Fearful Spirit King is merely a figurehead. The true supreme ruler of the entire Forbidden Land is the Search Master, the one who created this place.

Many ancient Life Forbidden Zones exist in the vast universe, some opened by powerful beings, independent of the mortal world, unaffected by any karmic interference, but under great calamities and catastrophes, they will still be affected and ultimately destroyed.

Calculating the remaining forbidden areas, which can be called absolute zones, makes them even more special.

Normally, absolute zones possess immortality through countless eons; even after experiencing the true realm’s power and the subsequent cleansing, they still stand strong and survive. This is vastly different from ordinary forbidden zones. In

the same calculation of the Great Qing Dynasty, many True Realms and super-multiverses were destroyed. Even the realms that held the authority of the Heavenly Dao before that time could not escape the cleansing. For example, the terrifying ancient absolute zone, even after the final calculation of the Great Qing Dynasty, was left behind from a previous chaotic era.

Therefore, in the mouths of some ancient chaotic beings, the terrifying ancient absolute zone is also called the Fourth Absolute. Above this, there are three more special absolute zones.

However, at certain times…Even those creatures that had once stopped in that realm would be very difficult to find.

Gu Xian’er didn’t expect that after she appeared and unleashed her Day-Imprisoning technique, the man holding the Black Banner would let her in. She hesitated for a moment, then bowed slightly to him, and subsequently withdrew her Day-Imprisoning technique. The

ancient forbidden land was vast; even though the battle between the two had affected a wide area and caused earth-shattering commotion, as Gu Xian’er moved further inside, she could still see the two fighting, and nothing had been destroyed.

Along the way, the buildings she saw still possessed an indescribable style, unlike the forms she had seen in the various civilizations of the Vast Expanse of the Worlds. Instead, they were magnificent and towering, rising from the ground on all sides, each floor having transparent glass windows, as if capable of containing countless living beings.

The deeper she went, the more she saw strangely styled tools, some floating in the void within silver warships, like birds with outstretched wings, their entire bodies exuding a cold metallic aura.

Even in some ruins, she saw incredibly tall, mountain-like steel giants, their bodies flowing with a strange light, their heart area somewhat transparent, vaguely revealing a seated corpse within.

“These are all relics left behind by a civilization from a previous chaotic era…”

Gu Xian’er didn’t understand any of this. Of course, if Gu Changge were here, he would have told her these were steel forests, interstellar warships and mechs. In fact, in the current era of the Vast Expanse of the World, among the civilizations that had been created, there were many that abandoned cultivation and focused solely on developing technology.

Unfortunately, this form of civilization, in the end, can only reach the state of mechanical ascension. No matter how powerful the mechs are, even if they exhaust all the universe’s resources in their creation, they can only utilize a portion of this universe’s power. They are fundamentally incapable of doing what cultivators do, using their will to manipulate heaven and earth for their own use.
