[Demon Hunter’s Blade Chapter 3]

“At least more than you.” Etienne slowly put on her clothes, “…It must be more than me.”

Ciel hid the black and red blade in his suitcase, observed a moment of silence for Julius’ corpse, and then dragged the dead man’s body to the burning tree and burned it together.

The flames scorched the human body, the dry flesh sizzled, and the smell of the corpse was even more unpleasant in the flames.

Charles’ stomach twitched, and he retched for a while.

“I don’t like Julis,” Varen muttered, sitting beside the burning tree, “He’s so bad, his death is the best outcome.”

“So.” Etienne asked, “Should we continue to hunt down the Blade Demon, or leave in time?”

The Ciel knew that this was a central issue, related to their future destiny.

All the demon hunters in this area have been summoned, and they use the pursuit spell to find the location where the Blade Demon invades the real world in time, and drive it into the Dusk Forest before it can cause chaos.

And it used the vast forest to distract the hunters.

As if the hunter did not force it into the forest, but it deliberately trapped the hunter here.

Ciel naturally hopes from the bottom of his heart that he can leave here and return to a safe civilized world.

But the Blade Demon will be unrestricted from now on.

Without a demon hunter to pursue, it can attack at carefully selected locations, corrupting a large number of humans in a single attack.

Demons come from another world, and if they stay in hell, they can only use distant psychological cues and mental interference to capture their victims, with limited impact.

But if they come in their own form like the blade demons, their destructive power and influence will increase thousands of times.

Just seeing its image, mortals will quickly collapse, go mad, become demons, and become servants of demons.

This phenomenon is known to hunters as Corruption.

Keep chasing, or hurry up?

“Are you also a ‘weak’ like Julis? Well, the demon hunters are inherently mixed, you shouldn’t be counted on…” Warren said in a disdainful tone, “As of now, it is impossible for the blade demon to escape from our palms. .”

“I highly praise your team spirit, and I think you support the pursuit.” Etienne nodded, “Have you found anything?”

“The Blade Demon encountered other hunters today, leaving traces of battle, but there was no winner. It was not far from the surrounding area, and it was like a shadow. It probably wanted to weaken us… You see, you are just fighting the Blade Demon. The subordinate servants, fighting with a mere knife, are already so embarrassed.”

“Blade is of high rank in hell and is powerful. We must fight against it at all costs.” Etienne said, “Look at Julis.”

The flames burned Julius’ corpse. His face was already highly burned, his skin was scorched, and it was extremely terrifying. Ciel couldn’t help but take a few steps back.

“Of course, that’s why we can’t go. We’ve already had people sacrificed, and the plan is running smoothly. You still mention retreat now, I really don’t know how your brain grows.” Warren’s tone was not good.

The more Ciel listened, the more unhappy he became, but there is such a person in the world. Although he has a bad temper and speaks wildly, people have to give him some points.

“How should I evaluate you? We do not have the absolute certainty of defeating the Blade Demon in the decisive battle.” Etienne said.

“Nonsense, Federik alone is enough to exile the Blade Demon, not to mention you and me.” Warren disagreed, “Besides, I really want to meet the Blade Demon…”

Frederick is a name that makes the charr awe-inspiring. He is the leader of the demon hunters in the Upper Loman region. He has the title of master hunter and also manages the hunter’s sanctuary.

He is a living legend and no one will doubt his strength.

“I hope so.” Etienne did not want to talk more.

“We have to assemble as a team, because we are so weak when we fight alone, why? Because each hunter knows only a few spells. Look at you, Etienne, if you will tell everyone the secret of the ‘Flame of Yaffin’ , everyone’s strength will get a leap.” Warren stared at Etienne’s face.

“Come on, if anyone else asks me, please hand me over the spell of the flames of Affin, I’ll still think about it. But Valen? Shut up, you don’t deserve to use this spell.” Etienne retorted .

Valen stood up abruptly, casting a shadow over his broad body, almost covering Etienne who was sitting cross-legged.

Ciel quickly picked up the crossbow and aimed at Warren. As long as Warren prepared the teleportation spell, he would shoot without hesitation.

“You’re ready to kill me? An apprentice?” Warren turned to stare at Ciel, “I’ll kill you before you attack.”

Am I shooting fast, or is he casting spells fast?

Charles thought.

“You can try.” His heart beat faster, he felt nervous, but he didn’t flinch. He found that the longer he stayed in Dusk Forest, the more courage he became. In this harsh environment, his courage gradually gained temper.

“You can scare strangers and fool cowards. But it’s not the first day you know us. Sit down for me.” Etienne reprimanded.

“I’ll kill you two when I get a chance,” Warren said slowly, “but not now, after we’ve hunted down the demons, we’ll settle the account slowly.”

Although Warren has a bad reputation, he knows a lot of people. Many people in the Loman Kingdom have heard of Warren. He also has contacts with many nobles, assassins and mercenaries, and most of them are willing to sell him a face.

Among the local demon hunters, perhaps Master Federik is the strongest and Etienne is the oldest, but whoever is the most difficult to provoke is definitely Warren.

In the dusk forest to face the blade demon, and leaving the forest, there may be warren’s conspiracy, Ciel can’t help but feel more nervous when he thinks of all the hardships in the future.

Everyone is a hunter who will give everything to fight against the devil, why does the relationship become like water and fire?

Charles was puzzled.

Some things are so obvious, even an apprentice like him, that hunters are always fighting over spells.

The best and most powerful hunters master five or six spells, and can even discover new spells by themselves, while those hunters whose spells are lost in the inheritance are destined to be weaker than others in all aspects. They often compete with each other for reliable and effective spells to strengthen themselves against demons.

Etienne has mastered quite a few hunter spells, but he only taught Charyaffin flame, which according to the old hunter is the most powerful hunter spell in the world, sufficient for all challenges.

While the others are not in a hurry, it will take a long time to come to Japan, and he can teach Ciel slowly.

It’s just… is there really a chance in the future?

Ciel couldn’t help thinking to himself, can we really leave the forest alive?

Etienne, apparently less worried than Ciel, took out the food from his backpack and devoured it.

“Take a good rest, and go on your way when it’s dawn.” He instructed the apprentice, “Every vigor is crucial, and every night’s rest is the key. Don’t accumulate fatigue and worries, otherwise you will show flaws.”

“Yes.” Charles took out cheese, jerky, and wine.

The Loman Kingdom is a vast territory, bordering the ocean to the west and the inland world to the east, forming a territory of its own.

These cheeses are Loman’s famous specialties. The outer shell is hard and brittle, and the inside is a soft sweet milk heart. It is soft and tender, and the milk fragrance is thick, almost to the point of choking.

Jerky is salted pork. It is very salty. It should be drunk with wine. The glass bottle is two-thirds full of cider with cloudy color. After drinking it, it is spicy in the throat, and then it can be sweet and fruity from the middle. .

Charles took a sip.

After eating and drinking, he turned his head and looked at the burning remains of Julius, which radiated an unpleasant smell.

But it was a respectable senior who died in battle, and Ciel looked complicated.

As the fire faded away, Julius’ body was not completely burned, leaving most of the corpse, charred bones and piles of ashes.

And on Julius’ neck, among the broken bones and ashes, a necklace was left, and the rare gems shone under the firelight.

Such a big gem!

Is this Mr. Julius’ legacy?

Should I take it?

Charles thought to himself, or should it be buried with Julius’ ashes?

Ciel walked over, preparing to collect the ashes and necklace.

He heard the incantation, and soon a shadow flowed across the ground, and Warren appeared beside the corpse and reached out to pick up the necklace.

Ciel pursed his lips tightly, and quickly reached out his hand, also grabbing the necklace.

He looked up and saw Warren’s appearance, his heart skipped a beat, and Warren looked at him fiercely.

“give me.”

Xia Er pursed his lips tightly, entangled in his heart, but decided to express his attitude: “No.”

Warren looked weird, mocking Ciel’s overreaching: “You don’t really want to fight with me, do you.” Warren’s direction moved away.

Should I let go?

Chapter 4 The Beast

“I said—” Etienne stretched his voice, “Wallen, you don’t want to fight with the poor little apprentice.”

“That’s Julius’ spell necklace, not his.” Warren said gruffly.

“But it’s not yours either, why would you take it.” Etienne got up slowly.

“Because I’m more sane, younger, and stronger than you,” Warren scoffed. “I get what I want.”

“The devil hunter is not doing his job well, but he is an expert in fighting in the nest.” Etienne retorted, “There is a blade demon wandering not far away, go and fight it, please.”

“Give me that necklace.” Valen simply passed Etienne and ordered Ciel directly.

Charles stared at the necklace they were fighting for. It was the most delicate and expensive thing he had ever seen. The whole body was made of pure gold. Diamond-shaped, delicately cut, and when Ciel stared at it, he could hear the screeching of magic flowing, as if it were a magic item, but he didn’t know what effect it had.

Wizards often inject their own spells into items to obtain powerful effects, which can only be achieved by highly skilled wizards, and cost a lot, so each spell item is quite expensive.

“No need to break it, put it down,” said Etienne.

Valen let go first, and Ciel slowly put the necklace back into the corpse.

The bones are still warm, and people have been scrambling for relics.

“What does this chain do?” he asked Etienne.

“Julis’s shield necklace can resist the effects of other spells.” The old hunter looked at the necklace in Ciel’s hand, “This chain has saved him many times, but it’s a pity…”

Charles looked up at Warren.

Warren is taller than him, more mature, fierce, and battle-hardened, better at dealing with demons or humans than Ciel.

Etienne was just injured and was over fifty years old. If he really tried his best, the old hunter and the junior apprentice would have to explain it here.

Although I know the situation is bad, but… give the treasure to someone like Valen?

I can’t do it.

Charles thought to himself.

“Stay by the side,” Warren urged.

“No.” Charles said little, preferring to defend his decision with action, “…it should be buried with Mr. Julius.”

“Idiot, brainless fool, there’s no reason to bury treasures deep in the ground.” Valen was furious, “Bring it here, we have a high chance of winning against the devil. It can not only stop the spell, but also interfere with the devil’s sorcery. .”

Will you go and fight demons?

Charles was deeply suspicious.

“If you die, do you want us to bury your things properly with you, or do you want us to fight over your belongings?” Etienne disagreed with Warren’s attitude, “Of course, I completely agree, Legacy is best left to the living. Warren, you go and bury Jules.”

“Bury that fool? I need a shovel first!” Warren cursed.

“Charle, then you bury Julis’ corpse, and the necklace will be his funeral expenses.” Etienne ordered simply.

“Okay, come on, let me see what you use to dig the grave.” Warren sneered.

Ciel didn’t say a word, he picked up his sword. Before, the fallen blade had already bent it, bringing out some ugly arcs, but it could be used for digging.

He used this somewhat distorted sword to dig in the ground silently.

“Using that kind of thing, it’s really stupid to see when you dig.” Warren mocked at first, watching Ciel’s actions with the mentality of seeing people make a fool of himself, and soon fell silent again.

Because Ciel really dug a decent grave.

He dug for an hour and was very tired, but he managed to excavate a hole more than one meter long and three fingers deep.

With unprecedented courage and courage, Ciel picked up Julis’ scorched black and festering corpse. The whole corpse was hot, and the face was burnt to the point where it was unbearable to see. The body was cut into many holes by the blade of the devil, and there were many missing parts of the spine.

“Disgusting.” Warren frowned.

It was such a corpse that Ciel dared to touch it with both hands.

He put the main body of the corpse into the pit, and after the fire, Julius’ body also became much smaller, enough to be buried in this shallow and small pit.

Ciel patiently hoarded the remaining burned ashes with his palms, and slowly threw them into the pit until only a black human-shaped remnant remained where the fire had originally been.

When he had done all this, he pushed the dirt he had dug back into the pit, forming an insignificant bulge, thus burying a demon hunter who had fought and slain in the Dusk Forest.

This ending may be indecent, but it’s still peaceful.

You have already sacrificed everything to fight ghosts from other worlds, can’t you rest well after death?

The fallen blade, although it was made of Julius’ spine, except for the bones, other parts were fallen demons and could not be buried in the soil casually, otherwise it would lead to disaster.

He also wanted to bury Denver if he had the chance…poor Denver, my good friend, was left alone under the tree, and Shire was frustrated.

He stood up and paid homage to Julius’ body.

The big tree beside it was still burning, and its trunk was tough. I was afraid that it would burn overnight. The surrounding heat was so hot that Shire was sweating all over.

After seeing Ciel’s actions, Varun said nothing, but just ate to himself.

“Put that necklace on, Julius will be happy,” said Etienne.

“Hypocrisy.” Warren whispered, “Master and apprentice, the same raccoon dog. Stealing dead people’s things, so thick-skinned.”

Charles picked up the green jewelry necklace and put it on his neck solemnly.

Etienne patted him on the shoulder.

“I hope you can become a good demon hunter.”

I just want to survive.

Charles thought uneasily.

The surroundings are dark and quiet, and I don’t know where the blade demon is hiding.
