Hunter’s Blade - Chapter 24
[Demon Hunter’s Blade Chapter 24]
“Bring them all back to the camp and burn them all together,” Rocher ordered.
Charles looked at the scene in front of him and was momentarily disappointed.
He took out the witch’s potion from his backpack. There was still a part of it, and he was about to run out. He tried hard to dig out the purple mud, trying to apply it to the wound on his back, but he couldn’t reach it.
“Is that an ointment?” Rocher looked back at Charles.
“Yes.” Ciel moved with difficulty.
“You have to take off your coat.” She came over.
Ciel wanted to do this, but when he moved a little, the wound on his back was a heart-wrenching pain.
“Be careful.” Rocher took off his gauntlet, helped Ciel unbutton his jacket, put it aside, and then took off his shirt.
She knelt down beside Ciel, observing his wound. “It stabbed you in the back.”
“It’s okay.” Ciel was panting, and the pain was unbearable. He had already experienced all kinds of pain, so his tolerance for pain had slightly improved, “It’s inevitable.”
Rocher asked her personal soldiers to bring a jug of wine. She took out a handkerchief from the inside of the armor, dipped it in the wine, and slowly scrubbed around the wound to clean up the blood. The silk cloth was very soft, like expensive silk. Charles felt itchy.
“Does your Excellency feel any pain? Unfortunately, there are hands holding swords on both sides.”
“No…no…” To be honest, Ciel was a little shy.
“Are you really seventeen? You are thirteen.” Gladiu murmured, “Tell her that you have a physical reaction, and ask her to help deal with it, and she will agree.”
Rocher evenly applied the ointment to the wound, then wrapped a bandage around Charles’ body to cover the wound.
Charles couldn’t help thinking of Etienne’s battered body, covered with scars, tattoos, and incantations, and perhaps Charles would one day be like that.
In fact, scars are still a small matter. As a demon hunter, he is active in the front line of fighting demons. It is impossible to keep his body as clean as new. Ciel is only afraid of leaving disabilities or any other injuries that affect his actions.
Ciel stood up slowly, feeling much better. He put on his clothes and regained eight or nine points of strength.
Rocher put the gauntlet back on his hand.
“Your Excellency Ciel, do you have any thoughts on how to deal with the body of the winged demon?”
“Take it back, I want to eat slowly.” Gladiu was excited.
“Eat?” Charles was confused. “You don’t only eat souls?”
“Look at it slowly, its body is made of demons. Although they are all inferior demons, they can also allow me to do a lot of interesting things. You don’t want a pair of invulnerable armor, right?”
Charles nodded and said to Rocher, “Excuse me, can you help me transport it back to the sanctuary? Cover its body with a cloth so that no one else can see it.”
“Understood.” Rocher greeted Charles.
It took them some time to get back to the camp, and they looked at the blood-stained Ciel, and the people were in awe, because neither Rocher nor her personal soldiers had any signs of battle.
Their reverence for the charr was heightened when they saw the corpse of the demon being dragged back by the horse.
“Devil Hunter.”
“A true hunter.”
“If it wasn’t for him, how would we fight that kind of thing?”
“Does anyone know his name?”
“Charle, his name is Charles. But I don’t know where it came from.”
They were so excited that they chatted in ear to ear.
The camp was originally a bit lifeless and gloomy, but after Shire and the others came back victorious, they lit the brazier, cheering, drinking and clinking glasses and playing cards sounded again. For them, life is no longer hopeless, and the day is finally here. There is some hope.
They gleefully loaded the demon’s corpse onto a large cart, gleefully pointing at its ugly wreckage, completely forgetting the horror it once brought.
Hope is better than fear. With a good start, the hardest part is over.
He was very happy that these soldiers had seen the power of demons and knew that it could be defeated. After word of mouth, people would eventually form an idea that demons are not invincible, and with the establishment of this idea, people are fighting demons. You will be more confident, and your odds of fighting against the devil will be greater.
Now, Charles just wants to rest… No, can’t rest. He walks around the camp, following the direction of the scent of roses to find where the camp prostitutes are. He sees a tall, mean-faced woman with tall hair. High ground on the head.
“Looking for Alicia?”
“Yes.” Ciel said firmly, he didn’t expect him to say it so happily, as if he became bold overnight, “I want her.”
The woman gave Ciel a strange smile.
“Are you serious?” she asked. “Don’t joke around.”
“What’s the problem?” Charles asked in confusion.
“You didn’t ride her yesterday, so why come today.”
“What’s the difference between riding and not riding, I think she will accompany me.” Charles said dissatisfiedly, “I can pay.”
“I don’t want your money.” Alicia got out of her small tent with a stubborn tone.
Ciel felt happy to see Alicia, and he lifted the curtains and walked into the candle-lit tent.
“You’re hurt.” She looked at Ciel.
“We’re always injured and injuries are inevitable,” Shire explained.
“Then won’t you die? Die in battle?” Alicia was a little scared, “When will you die?”
“How do I know when I’m going to die, I’m not going to die,” said Ciel.
Anyway, there is Gladiu in the back, so it doesn’t matter if he is seriously injured.
“When did your family die?” Gladiu asked.
Alicia looked at Ciel worriedly.
“Take off your coat and let me wash it for you.”
“OK.”
She put the blood-stained wool coat into the copper basin, and there was a large pool of dirty blood in the clear water, but Alicia didn’t care and rubbed it casually.
“Did you win?”
“If you lose, you will get it, and everything will be over.” Ciel was a little scared. “It is a very terrifying enemy. It is extremely powerful. It can fly and release mental interference.”
After a while, Ciel came back to his senses. They saw a huge demon shadow in the dark before, so the people from the Fanshan Crossbow Team shot the first arrow into the air, but the battle was too fierce, and they left in a hurry just now. Go and check what that shadow is!
This made Ciel fall into deep anxiety again.
“Why do you still look worried, you have already killed it anyway.” Alicia was puzzled.
“Devils are endless. They are addicted to souls. They must keep devouring souls to survive and become stronger. We are resources and food in their eyes, and they will keep entering this world.” Ciel muttered. .
“The devil is from another world?”
“Yes, demons are monsters from other worlds. In that world, the number of demons is numerous and endless. As a demon hunter, it is impossible to fight it alone all the time.”
“Oh, that’s amazing!” Alicia seemed to understand.
The more Charles thought about it, the more he felt that he had something to say.
“You know what? I think, the army is very strong. Although a group of mortals can’t fight against demons, they can’t resist under the attack of demon sorcery, and they can easily break their minds. But a group of well-trained demon hunters is formed. The army is different. Thousands of demon hunters gather together. At that time, it is not the demons that will be killed, but the hunters. No matter how strong the demons are, and how many hunters are defeated, there will always be experienced warriors who will follow suit at any time. Safeguard this world.”
“Ah…” Alicia thought thoughtfully, “Isn’t this the reason for stealing goats?”
“What’s the meaning?”
“It’s that fable. Once upon a time, there was a man who kept a lot of sheep in his house. When the sheepfold was broken, the wolves came to eat the sheep every day. He went to fight the wolves, but the wolves kept coming in.”
“Then what should he do?” Charles thought.
“He mends the sheepfold, and the wolves can’t get in. Instead of constantly fighting and fighting with the demons, why don’t you think of a way to prevent the demons from entering this world?” Alicia put the coat on. Wipe off the blood stains.
Chapter 31 Two Children
To mend the sheepfold.
How to do?
Charles was sleepy, lying on the blanket, tossing and turning.
Alicia hung his wool coat outside to dry, then walked back, looking down at the sleepy Ciel.
“You need to sleep?”
“If you want to accompany me, I won’t be sleepy.” Ciel opened his eyes wide.
“Fool.” Alicia knelt beside Ciel, “You are covered in blood, smelly and dirty, how can I accompany you?”
“Then what?”
“I don’t know either.” She lay down beside Ciel. “They say you can do it with your hands, your mouth, your butt, or your thighs, but I don’t know how.”
“I know, let me teach you.” Gladiu was eager to try.
“You save it.” Charles muttered in his heart, “It’s disgusting.”
“No, do you really think I’ll be interested in you?” Gladius screamed, “You see two dogs or two ants mating on the side of the road, do you have any special feelings?”
No matter what excuse the demon made, as soon as it started talking, Ciel felt that the warm and sweet atmosphere was gone.
“Okay, you bastard, since you hate me, I’ll leave you alone.” Gladiu fell silent.
Much better now, Ciel turned and looked closely at Alicia’s face. She was wearing immature makeup, her lips were red, her eyebrows were well-shaped, and her eyes were still simple and innocent.
“Little fool, little fool, why do you look stupider than others?” Alicia said in confusion.
“Am I stupid?” Charles didn’t quite understand.
“Other people are very shrewd. The owner of our brothel is particularly powerful. He looks unpredictable. Others are afraid of him and dare not approach him. They are respectful. You are different, you see. It’s very bullying.”
“Then how can I look great?”
“I just don’t speak, I don’t say a word, and I look quiet and cold, as if I have a heart for what I do.”
Ciel pursed his lips and his eyes were calm, recalling his state when he fought the demon.
The candles flickered in the tent, the lights and shadows intertwined, and Ciel’s eyes became colder.
Alicia shuddered: “Ah…don’t do this.”
His expression softened again.
“You are different from others.” Alicia curled her lips, “You are like a good person, you are good to me, and everyone else wants to hurt me.”
“A good person is a good person.” Ciel thought of the past, “but I’ll never hurt you, it’s true.”
“They say there are two types of men.” Alicia propped her head on her elbows. “One is a wolf-like man who is proactive, decisive, visionary, does not depend on others, and can’t wait to express himself. One is a dog-like man. Passive, dull, short-sighted, habitually obedient, hidden in the crowd.”
“What do you like?”
Alicia rarely showed a shy expression.
“Which category do you think you are?” She avoided the subject.
Charles leaned up and kissed her, looking for her lips, very soft and wonderful to the touch, the smell on her body made him go up, fascinated and hesitant
No, it shouldn’t be like this, I just lost so many friends in Dusk Forest, even my master… After such a tragedy, I still have thoughts…
“Fool, this is normal.” Gladiu said, “This is the reproductive effect of crisis. When intelligent creatures have recently encountered a fatal crisis, the switch is turned on. You instinctively tell you that your life is not long, so you must leave your inheritance as soon as possible. Information, that’s why you’re suddenly interested in women. Give me some respect for biological instincts! Come on! Send those milliliters of your sense of purpose to the next generation!”
