Chapter 964: Alick’s Viewpoint

Although he noticed that the person flying over was Byron, there were other people around Byron. Thor hid his body at the last moment and hid behind a red worm that was more than three meters long.

Ordinary people could not see these red worms, nor could they see Thor who blended into the background. And those who could see the worms would ignore Thor hiding behind it because of the extremely eye-catching red worms.

Soon, Byron’s figure appeared, and with him came two wizards, both of whom were first-level wizards. Including Byron, all three of them had a red worm on their bodies.

However, the two first-level wizards had worms that were less than the size of an arm, while the worm on Byron was particularly huge, nearly two meters high, which was taller than him. The worm was lying on his back, and from a distance, it looked like he was carrying a huge bag.

Thor had just seen other second-level wizards, and none of them had worms as big as Byron’s.

Looking at their movement formation, Byron seemed to be the leader of this team.

“Has the senior become the leader after sneaking into the enemy camp? Why are the worms on his body so big?” Thor felt that Byron did not seem to need his rescue.

Thor pulled the thread of fate that belonged to Byron in his spiritual body.

Byron, who was originally in a hurry, suddenly stopped.

“What’s wrong, sir?”

Byron’s eyes moved slightly, “You go to perform the task first, I want to check the situation of other test subjects.”

The two first-level wizards who followed Byron did not notice anything unusual, nodded and left first.

Byron flew in the direction where Thor came from, stopped halfway, looked around, and no one else was approaching for the time being.

“Are you nearby?” Byron asked in a low voice, so low that it could hardly be heard two meters away.

But Thor, who had been paying attention to Byron, still heard it. One of his hands instantly turned into an octopus tentacle, and with a light flick, it wrapped around Byron, and then pulled him behind the red worm where he was hiding.

“Senior, Agu and I were still worried about you, but you have become a leader here?”

Thor looked at Byron with amusement, especially staring at the huge red worm on Byron’s back for several times.

Although there were few wizards who could see the red worm along the way, Byron did not doubt that Thor could see it.

“If you want to defeat the enemy, you must first understand the enemy.” Byron was also very happy to see Thor again after a year, but his expression was still indifferent, “I just got the right to leave, and I was thinking of going out to find Agu this time. I didn’t expect you to come in.”

So Byron still regarded the Stargate Council as an enemy?

“What are they going to do by capturing you? I saw a tied-up wizard in the balloon over there, and you free men all have worms on your bodies. You can see the worms, right?”

Byron nodded, “In fact, for the Stargate Council, we and those imprisoned experimental subjects are their experimental subjects. The data they want to test is actually…”

“Let me tell Wizard Thor.”

Suddenly a voice sounded, and both Thor and Byron were startled.

Although they heard other people’s voices, they still didn’t realize who the voice belonged to, but the voice was clearly right beside them.

As Thor looked around, the three-meter-long red worm in front of him suddenly split open in the middle of its belly.

A thin middle-aged man unexpectedly walked out of the belly of the red worm that no one else could touch.

The man had dark skin and brown hair with some silver hair. He looked like he was in his fifties or sixties, but his skin was as smooth as a peeled egg.

“Chairman Alick.” Byron pulled Thor and called out his identity in front of him.

The chairman of the Stargate Council, Alick, looked different from what was described in the rumors. He ranked first in strength among the fourth-level wizards in the open, but he rarely participated in battles and basically spent all his energy on research.

When Thor saw Alick suddenly appear in front of him, his first reaction was not that he had sneaked in and was caught, but he asked in surprise: “This red worm cannot be touched by mental power or magic. How did you hide in it and come out?”

Alick smiled, and his face that looked mean did not show any sign of anger.

“Before, Murrich invited you to join the Stargate experiment, but you disagreed. Now you ask me?” He said jokingly, “Then I won’t tell you casually.”

Is the chairman of the Stargate Council this kind of character?

I don’t know why, such an Alick always makes people want to trust him from the bottom of their hearts.

Thor suspected that he was affected by the other party’s magic, but after checking his spiritual body, there was no other force acting on it.

So is it his own personal charm?

“Just kidding.”

The other party was indeed joking.

“Stargate welcomes you to join our experimental research at any time.”

Alick first said to Byron: “You still have a mission. No matter what your purpose is in joining the experiment, complete the first mission seriously first.”

Byron pursed his lips and looked at Thor worriedly, but thinking that he could not help here, he winked at him and turned away to find the first-level wizard before.

Thor touched his chin awkwardly, “So you guessed that I would sneak in?”

“No need to guess.” Alick snapped his fingers, and the two suddenly moved from a pile of bugs to a room full of experimental instruments.

“This side of the world has never been fortified. Anyone who can find the entrance can come in. I don’t need to send people to patrol or guard. I believe that anyone who sees the Stargate experiment will eventually choose to join. Just like your friends and your future self.”

Speaker Alick was quite confident.

“Your current attitude is somewhat contradictory to the actions of Murrich and others to arrest people outside.” Thor spoke quite boldly.

“That was done by Murrich. Before the Stargate Council completely leaves the wizarding world and travels into the starry sky, we still need the stability of the grassroots society to provide enough supplies and personnel. If the matter of the red worms is made public, the productivity of the panicked city will be greatly reduced. So we finally chose to conduct the experiment in secret. But wizards like you who can find it by yourself will not choose to announce the secret of the red worms to the outside world even if they know it.”

Alick was right about this. Although Thor sneaked in to save people, he did not intend to announce the existence of the red worms to ordinary people.

First of all, the red worms will not attack people without magic power. In the eyes of those worms, people without magic talent are like pebbles on the roadside. You can step on them at will, but you won’t step on them deliberately.

And then for wizards who can’t see or touch the worms, how can you explain it to make them believe that the red worms really exist?

“What about after you travel into the starry sky?”

“By that time, the world will be destroyed by the black tide. Those who remain will either find a new way to survive with a very small probability, or perish with the world. It is meaningless to know the truth or not.”
