Chapter 557 Ant Acid Meat Nest

Thor followed the mountain mover along the main road and walked into the nearby ancient forest of survivors.

However, the mountain mover took a slight detour and avoided the place where the seven blindfolded ordinary people had appeared.

Thor followed him into the woods and climbed halfway up the hill.

Then the donkey cart stopped, and the driver who drove over the mountain stood on the frame and lifted up the black leather, throwing the boy on the top under the roots of a big tree.

The donkey cart started again, leaving the motionless boy on the spot and continued to go deeper into the ancient forest.

But Thor did not follow, and his footsteps stayed beside the boy.

He squatted down and turned over the boy’s mouth, nose, and eyelids, and finally found a half-finger-long wooden thorn at the back of the boy’s neck.

The wooden thorn pierced lightly under the skin and hung there.

He pulled out the wooden thorn, sniffed the smell on it, and showed a very faint smile.

“Do they use this to disguise people into a state of suspended animation?”

“Is this an underground transaction? If discovered, it can also easily turn people into real death.”

Thor looked at the boy’s hands and feet again.

Although the other party was only eleven or twelve years old, his hands were covered with calluses, and it was obvious that he worked often.

As he watched, Sol exclaimed, “Huh.”

He pinched the boy’s skull and spine, “This boy has been forced to grow.”

Although the boy looked to be in his teens, his actual age was probably only seven or eight years old.

He was like the wheat seedlings in the field, being helped to grow!

After Sol’s tossing and turning, the boy still did not wake up.

If this continues, he will go from pretending to be dead to really dead.

“It seems that people who do this business don’t care much about the survival rate of the goods.”

The bearded man used some kind of relationship to send the boy out of the settlement by pretending to be dead. The mountain climber and the old man with the flower pot guarding the gate should all know about this.

They turned a blind eye, most likely because they could benefit from this.

Judging from their indifference to the boy now, the vested interests have been obtained, so they naturally don’t need to care too much about the entrusted goods.

Life and death are determined by fate.

Or it is best to die.

There will be no hidden dangers.

Seeing the vitality in the boy’s body gradually disappear, Thor suddenly raised his hand and snapped his fingers. A healing spell fell, causing the boy who was about to step into the abyss of death to suddenly open his eyes.

“Cough cough cough cough… cough cough cough…”

The boy who just opened his eyes coughed violently. After crawling back from the checkpoint of death, his body was also damaged.

When the boy finally caught his breath, he saw a man in a wizard robe squatting beside him.

Facing Thor who had just saved his life, the boy’s eyes showed a look of fear.

He subconsciously crawled back, trying to get away from Thor, but slammed into the big tree behind him.

Several dead branches and leaves fell from his head.

“Don’t be afraid, it’s useless to be afraid. I ask, you answer?”

The boy’s back was pressed tightly against the big tree behind him. He slid his throat with difficulty and swallowed his saliva, but his mouth was dry and burning.

After a moment, he regained his composure and nodded.

The way he stared at Thor was like a little rabbit just out of the nest.

“Is that bearded man your father?”

The boy hesitated.

“I’ll kill you if you lie.” Thor’s voice was even.

Facing such a death threat, the boy did not show the fear and panic he had just felt when he found Thor standing beside him.

“Yes.”

“When I came here, I saw you running away, but the people behind me held you down and nailed two holes in your feet. What are you doing?”

“They said I’m grown up and can make a meat nest. I saw, I saw the boy in front of me had holes punched in the soles of his feet, and two ants were put in, and he screamed in pain. I, I was scared, so I ran out.”

“What’s the matter with this wooden thorn?”

Thor held the wooden thorn he had pulled out from the back of the boy’s neck in front of the boy.

The boy looked at the wooden thorn blankly and shook his head.

“Then why were you thrown out again?”

The boy recalled for a moment.

“After I was caught, they put an ant on the sole of my foot, but as soon as the ant crawled into my foot, I fainted from the pain and didn’t know what happened.”

“Oh, your father asked someone to secretly send you out, but didn’t he tell you how to live after leaving the gathering place?”

The boy still looked confused, but Thor could clearly hear his suddenly accelerated heartbeat.

“Sure enough, living in a place like this, the real naive people have died long ago.” Thor shook his head in his heart.

He didn’t continue to hold on to this question. I just said this to tell the boy that I have caught your little braid, and now it’s time to ask some in-depth questions.

“What is a meat nest?”

“Does this settlement not allow ordinary people to leave?”

“Do many wizards leave after entering here?”

The boy answered some questions, and some just shook his head to indicate that he didn’t know. After

almost digging out the information in the boy’s mind, Thor stood up again.

He looked at the boy leaning weakly against the big tree, and took out some food from the storage device and threw it on him.

The small package that the boy’s father gave to the climber should be the food he intended to leave for the boy.

However, the climber did not intend to let the boy survive, so he naturally took the food in the package.

“This is the reward for answering my questions. Of course, if you tell the truth, you can get more.”

After saying this, Thor turned around and prepared to continue into the mountain.

He planned to find a few bow-backed termites.

If the formic acid of these termites can really produce a magical drug that can make wizards enter a high-speed brain state without any side effects, it will surely become a rare witchcraft material in the future and be fought over by many wizards.

It would be better for him to start researching now.

However, since these bow-backed termites are so magical, there must be someone guarding them. Thor must be careful not to miss any traces, so as not to be targeted by the second-level wizards in the settlement.

Thor had just taken two steps when he heard the boy behind him calling him.

“Master Wizard, please wait a moment.”

Thor stopped and looked back.

“Master, can I…”

“No.” Thor knew what the boy wanted to ask, but he refused without hesitation.

When he examined the boy just now, he found that the boy’s spirit and body had been damaged.

Not to mention becoming an apprentice, it would be difficult for him to live to the age of 20 in good health.

Unless he had the opportunity of the useless protagonist in the novel, encountering some natural treasure, or cleansing his marrow with the

Book of Changes, or rather, rebuilding his spirit, awakening his magical talent, and amplifying his elemental perception, he would not have the opportunity to learn at all. The boy wanted to fight for it again, but when he looked up, he met Thor’s eyes as calm as the deep sea. He could not say the plea in his mouth.

“He is quite smart, but it’s a pity.” Thor saw that the boy did not continue to plead, so he turned and left.

He walked forward in the forest and released Xiaozao.

“Be careful not to alarm the people and creatures here.”

Xiaozao jumped to the ground, burrowed into the soil, and disappeared.

After about half an hour, it suddenly came out again, and its black tentacles circled Thor’s ankles.

Thor followed Xiaozao’s strength and walked forward silently.

Not long after, he saw several familiar figures in the forest ahead.

They were thin figures with black scarves covering their eyes and shackles on their feet.

The leader was also carrying a lantern and moving forward silently.

According to the boy, these people should be the meat nests used to collect formic acid.

Thor quickly went around to the front of these seven people, but found that these seven people were not the same seven he had seen before.

“It seems that most of the ordinary people in this small settlement are alternative materials for making meat nests.”
