Chapter 553: Demonic Pool

In a short period of time, Thor thought of several ways to increase his magic power.

However, none of them could be considered large-scale.

The last time Thor got a large amount of magic power was when he got the last gift from the half-elf in the Elf Valley.

The pure magic power saved him several years of accumulating magic power and he was successfully promoted to a formal wizard.

If he was not a formal wizard, it would be difficult for him to survive the rebellion in the Wizard Tower.

But now, without the gift from heaven, Thor can only rely on himself to find ways to increase his magic power.

Meditation alone is definitely not enough.

“At present, the main way I can think of to increase magic power is to collect various pure magic materials, purify them and absorb them. However, the disadvantage of this method is that it cannot be completely purified, and impurities will accumulate in the body. After a long time, you have to find a way to clean it up, otherwise there will be great hidden dangers.”

“You can build a magic pool.” Camus suddenly said.

“Magic pool? What is it?”

Thor had never heard of this name. Although the name is easy to understand, he felt that the method Camus specifically proposed would not be that simple.

“The magic reservoir is to collect witchcraft materials with higher magic power, and then extract purer magic power through four steps: catalysis, refining, filtering, and collection.”

At first glance, this method is similar to what Thor had thought of before.

However, Thor did not speak, but just watched Camus quietly.

“Every step in building the magic reservoir is critical, but the third step, filtering, determines the core of the magic reservoir. The selection of filtering materials determines the pollution value in the magic you extract, and some people also call it the distortion value.”

Camus’ voice was as flat as her emotions. It was like an instruction manual.

“…The best filtering material is a living wizard.”

“I’m afraid this kind of knowledge will not be allowed to spread?”

Camus did not answer, but just looked at Thor like a sculpture.

Thor leaned on the experimental table and slowly turned the beaker in his hand, “Tell me about it.”

Thor built a magic reservoir on the top of the wizard tower.

The entire pool was built with the materials of the wizard tower itself. The pool body was cylindrical, two meters high and one meter in diameter.

Outside the magic reservoir, a sunshade and a concentrator were also built. Different environmental simulations can be performed according to different experimental materials.

Because of witchcraft, the overall structure of the magic reservoir was completed in less than half a month.

The next step is to prepare various materials, catalysts and… suitable filter materials.

After the main facilities of the magic reservoir were completed, Thor left Herman in the wizard tower and took others out.

At present, the Pure Spirit Wizard Tower has entered a state of stable growth, and with the forbidden magic Rhine Lake outside, he can leave for a while without worry.

This time, Thor is going to a place provided by the old witch. It is said that she has seen quicksand termites there.

The queen of quicksand termites secretes a substance, which is called obsidian amber in the wizard world. Obsidian amber is a very efficient catalyst, and the catalytic range is also very wide.

In the past, when Thor was the manager of the second warehouse, he sold some. After

leaving the wizard tower, he did not take the queen of the quicksand termites with him, because the queen was very fragile and had to live in a complex environmental simulation instrument.

The instrument was very delicate and afraid of bumps, so Thor could not take it with him on the road.

However, he still had some remaining obsidian amber, but for a large-scale experimental project like the magic pool, that little bit of residue was not enough.

He needed more dark amber and a sustainable collection channel.

So he planned to follow the clues provided by the old witch, find the quicksand termite colony, and then move the queen ant and its descendants to the outside of the Rhine Lake.

The old witch would build an ant nest outside the wizard tower in advance, and when Thor came back, she could move the entire colony of quicksand termites directly into it.

This was her own idea. The condition was that the obsidian amber produced by the queen ant should also be given to her.

Thor would naturally not refuse. He also planned to send someone to move to the vicinity of the ant nest to be responsible for guarding. It would be best if the candidate was the old witch.

The place where the old witch once discovered the quicksand termites was not in the desert, but strangely appeared in a mountain forest adjacent to a settlement.

The area of the mountain forest is not large, and it does not even cover half of the mountain, but the plants growing in it are extremely lush and tall.

People walking in it are as small as ants.

Therefore, it is called the survivor Gulin by people nearby.

Most of the Borderlands are uninhabited. In some areas, only a small number of powerful wizards or other strong people live alone.

Settlements are rarely established in places.

Before entering the Survivor Forest, Thor went to the settlement nearby to get some information.

The settlement was not large, but it was surrounded by a towering wall.

The wall looked quite old. The bricks and stones were mottled, and even some of the witchcraft arrays engraved on it had become ineffective. They were simply hung there to serve as a deterrent.

There was a mountain to the north, and the Survivor Forest to the south. There was no shelter on the east and west sides. There was only a road that was equally weathered and extended to the bottom of the wall, which then forked and bypassed it.

The sun shone unscrupulously. It was already autumn, but it still had the power of midsummer.

Thor walked to the fork in the road.

The path leading to the settlement was overgrown with weeds, and it didn’t seem that many people came and went.

When Thor was considering whether to go through the door or fly in directly, a series of messy metal collisions from far to near attracted his attention.

Seven ordinary people in ragged clothes lined up to walk out of the Survivor Forest.

They all had shackles on their ankles.

Everyone’s left foot was tied to a set of iron shackles, and everyone’s right foot was tied to another set. All

seven people were blindfolded.

The first person held a lantern in his hand.

The light of the lantern was weak, and it was almost impossible to see clearly under the scorching sun.

“A group of people tied together, all blindfolded, and still holding lanterns?”

Thor stood there, watching them slowly walk out of the forest, their bare feet stepping from the grass to the ground, and then passing by him.

These people’s pants were rolled up to their knees, and their calves and toes were covered with mud.

When the last person passed by Thor, he followed behind.

The fork in the road was more than a hundred meters away from the door hole dug in the wall.

When the first blindfolded person approached the closed beech wood gate, the lantern he was holding went out with a “chi”.

The first person stopped immediately.

Then the whole team stopped skillfully.

At this time, the gate opened silently a crack.

It was very dark inside the gate, as if sunlight was forbidden inside the settlement.

A huge hand was holding the door, widening the gap a little more, enough for one person to enter.

The lantern lit up again.

The seven people in front continued to move forward, very tacitly taking the right foot first and the left foot later.

Thor was still walking at the back, and even the frequency of his steps was consistent with the ordinary people in front.

He successfully entered the gap in the door and looked up to see a large head that was almost triangular and half of its head was sticking out from behind the door.

His eyes were orange-yellow and as big as a round table. One of his hands was holding the side of the door, and the other was resting on the top of the door.

He didn’t look at Thor, and his cloudy pupils moved little by little with the seven ordinary people walking slowly on the ground.

“Gurgle.”

Thor seemed to hear the sound of swallowing saliva.

The monster behind the door finally couldn’t hold back, and one hand loosened the door and reached out to the last of the seven people.

He grabbed the man’s upper body and tried to lift him up.

But as soon as he raised his arm, the shackles connected to the seven people’s feet began to rattle.

The captured man was panicking, but he opened his mouth but made no sound. He just kept shaking his legs, which were still able to move, trying to make the sound of the shackles louder.

“Snap!”

Suddenly, a long whip stretched out from the darkness and hit the monster’s head hard.

“Don’t touch my things!”

The voice of an angry old man sounded.
