Chapter 291 Infiltration

Thor didn’t know if his guess was correct.

Logically, the Principality of Kerma and the Wizard Tower were allies, and they shouldn’t plot against Thor.

But sometimes the relationship between allies can be so complicated that it’s hard to imagine.

Thor packed up his important things, but didn’t clean the entire laboratory.

He deliberately left traces of use, and then sat quietly at the laboratory table, as if he was studying witchcraft.

But before he sat down, he casually supported the wall. There was a small and inconspicuous crack there.

From day to late at night.

The Black Castle did not have the habit of keeping candles lit from morning to night like the Wizard Tower.

In fact, in order to save lamp oil, or just for convenience and trouble, not many lighting equipment were prepared here.

At night, the Black Castle was as its name suggests, and the whole house was pitch black. The silhouettes under the moonlight were dimly reflected on the top of the treetops, making the civilians who occasionally looked up below think that they were dazzled.

In the equally dark warehouse, a gray-white hemisphere suddenly appeared at the bottom of a huge wooden box that had not been completely disassembled.

The solid wooden box did not pose any obstacle to it. It stretched a little bit, revealing a pair of eyes in a hemispherical shape.

It turned out that this was not a ball, but a head without hair.

The pupils of its eyes were extremely small, and the white of the eyes occupied most of the area of the eyeball, and the color could almost blend into the skin.

At first glance, it seemed that the only two black bean-like pupils of the entire head were its eyeballs.

It slowly emerged from the gap at the bottom of the box, revealing its nose, mouth and chin, followed by its long neck.

It was always a neck.

There was no body.

Its tiny pupils swayed left and right, observing the entire room in the dark.

Then, it stared at the door.

The neck continued to stretch, pushing the bald head towards the door of the warehouse.

The gap in the door was narrow, but it could not stop the head from coming out.

It easily left the warehouse and looked around.

The warehouse was at the end of the first floor of the Black Castle, and a circular corridor appeared in front of it.

The head looked around, then opened its mouth. A grayish-white tongue, the same color as its skin, emerged from the gap between its teethless lips.

The tongue was very thin, but the tip was a ball. After leaving the lips, the tongue expanded and grew. Especially the tip of the tongue, which was as big as a head.

The tip suddenly split into two cracks, revealing a pair of eyes with very small pupils.

Then, the tip split into a third crack, located below the eyes, like a mouth.

The mouth also opened, and a thin, round-topped tongue stretched out. After the tongue emerged from the mouth, it also grew eyes and a mouth.

At this time, the first head stretched out a second tongue, followed by the third, the fourth…

and each tongue would grow eyes and a mouth, and then the next tongue would stretch out from the mouth.

Countless heads split and began to move deeper into the corridor.

They continued to stretch along the ground and walls, their tiny black pupils trembling slightly, and they were extremely excited, but they did not make any sound.

Soon these heads covered the entire corridor and gradually came to the lobby on the first floor.

The front hall, which was not visited by any guests, was also dark. Those gorgeous chandeliers and exquisite wallpapers seemed to have changed their theme under the dim moonlight.

The first head came to the front hall and explored forward, but it suddenly found that it could not move forward.

Its pupils trembled and turned to the corners of its eyes, and it saw a black vine entangled with it.

“Devil… Devil… Vine…”

The grinning mouth finally said the first word.

Then, it ignored the entanglement of the vine, just stretched out its tongue again and released the next head. In

this way, every head that was entangled by the devil vine did not resist, allowing the devil vine to entangle it tightly.

But they took advantage of the devil vine before it blocked its mouth, released the next tongue, and continued to move forward and explore the entire Black Castle. The

devil vine that did not feel resistance may have regarded these strange long-necked heads as snakes, insects, rats and ants sneaking in from the forest, and did not issue a warning to its temporary owner.

In the laboratory on the third floor of the Black Castle, Thor was writing furiously.

Suddenly, his movements paused for a moment. “You encountered an unknown invasion, but you didn’t send out a warning?”

He tilted his head and whispered, “The other party came prepared, and broke the most sensitive enemy detection method of Black Castle in one encounter. Then the other defense capabilities of Black Castle may not be reliable.”

If Thor’s control over the devil vine was far beyond the perception range of the temporary owner, he might not be able to detect it even if someone came to his door.

But now…

“If I fight my way out, can I defeat the enemy lurking in the shadows?”

The diary in his mind slowly unfolded.

[On September 5, 316 of the New Moon Calendar,

a bad visitor knocked on your door.

The enthusiastic host wanted to keep him forever.

The guest gave him a bouquet of flowers, and

the host cooked fresh seafood.

After a lot of exchanges, you

asked the guest to stay forever.

Unfortunately, you

missed the second guest because of this. 】

Seeing the content of the diary, Thor was stunned for a moment.

He just gave the diary his own ideas about how to deal with the enemy, wanting the diary to judge whether he would encounter a death crisis.

When the diary appeared just now, he thought he was no match for the visitor and might die in the hands of the other party.

This prediction really surprised him. After all, Thor thought that a person who needed to sneak attack him could not be a formal wizard, and he was not afraid of ordinary third-level apprentices.

But when he saw that the content of the diary was not a death ending, he was even more surprised.

As the diary said, he did defeat the enemy. But this also means that the diary’s warning is no longer limited to death this time!

He only subdued the first guest and frightened the second guest, causing him to not dare to enter.

“Has the diary’s warning been upgraded? In the future, it will not only issue warnings when there is a death crisis?”

In order to prove what he thought, Thor immediately changed his mind.

“What if I hide?”

A few lines of text appeared in the diary again.

Still not a death warning.

“Sure enough…” Thor smiled, “This is the first warning after the diary became a locator, so I only realized now that the way to trigger the warning has changed.”

As Thor and the diary deepened their connection, the diary also brought Thor more feedback.

“If I follow the inertia of the diary, I’m afraid that the fact that I missed the second guest will have an adverse impact on me in the future. I still have to find a way to catch him.”

“Knock, knock, knock!”

At this moment, the door of the laboratory was suddenly knocked.

Sol glanced at the door, and there seemed to be some shadows swimming in the crack of the door, trembling slightly.

“An uninvited guest has arrived.”

Sol smiled slightly, ignored the knocking sound late at night, turned his head, raised his left hand to put the hood of his cloak on his head, and continued to write.

“Swish, swish, swish…”

The room was very quiet, with only the sound of the pen tip and paper rubbing against each other.

Outside the door, the visitor gently knocked on the door with his forehead. Every three knocks, he would pause for a moment, grinning and waiting for the owner to open the door.

Around the door, on the ground, walls, and ceiling, there were dozens of heads that looked exactly like the visitor, also sticking to the crack of the door with an expectant look on their faces.

They pushed and shoved each other, crowded around the crack of the door, their big white eyes with black pupils trying to look inside the house, through the crack they vaguely saw a figure with his back to the crowd, covered in a cloak.

Their eyes kept trembling, waiting excitedly.

Waiting for the owner of the house to open the door for them.

Sorry, I have been running to the hospital these two days, and I really don’t have any drafts saved, so I can only post it now, and try to return to normal time tomorrow.
