“I am the Venerable Sakyamuni of the Western Paradise, Namo Amitabha. I heard that you are very rampant and have repeatedly rebelled against the Heavenly Court. Not only where are you from, where did you practice Taoism, why are you so violent?”

Sun Wukong pressed the golden hoop and said loudly: “I am a spirit mixed immortal born from heaven and earth, an old ape in the Flower and Fruit Mountain, and my family business is in the Water Curtain Cave. I worshipped friends and sought a teacher to understand Taixuan. I have practiced many methods of longevity and learned to change endlessly. Because I feel that the place is too small in the mortal world, I am determined to live in Yaotian. The Lingxiao Palace is not his for long. It has always been passed down by human kings. The strong should be respected and I should be the hero. Only this time dares to compete for the first place.”

“Oh, your writing is quite good.” Jia Zhengjin chuckled on the side.

Sun Wukong took a look and thought he was just a little arhat beside Tathagata, and didn’t care.

After listening to this, Tathagata sneered, “You are nothing but a monkey who has become a spirit, yet you actually want to seize the throne of the Jade Emperor! He has practiced freely and hard, and has experienced 1,750 calamities, and each calamity lasted 129,600 years. Calculate how old he has to be to be able to enjoy this infinite great way. Sun Wukong laughed and said, “Although he is old, he should not occupy the throne of the Jade Emperor all the time. As the saying goes, the emperor takes turns, and it will be my turn next year. As long as he moves out and gives this heavenly palace to me, it will be fine; otherwise, he will definitely turn the world upside down and there will never be peace!”

“Besides the method of immortality and transformation, what other abilities do you have that dare to occupy this holy land of heavenly palace?” asked Tathagata.

“I have many tricks! I have seventy-two transformations, eternal life, and can ride the somersault cloud. With one somersault, I can travel a great distance of 18,000 miles. How come I can’t be the Jade Emperor?”

“Oh?” Tathagata thought for a moment, “In that case, how about I make a bet with you? If you are really capable, and can fly out of my right palm with one somersault, you win, and there is no need to fight anymore. I will invite the Jade Emperor to live in the West Heaven, and I will give you this heavenly palace! If you can’t fly out of my palm, then you should be a good monster in the lower world, cultivate a few more calamities, and don’t make trouble again!”

When Sun Wukong heard this, he was secretly happy in his heart: This Tathagata is really stupid. With one somersault of mine, I can travel a great distance of 18,000 miles, and his palm is only one foot wide. How can he not jump out?

So he shouted loudly: “If that’s the case, can you make the decision?”

Tathagata nodded: “I can, I can!”

He stretched out his right hand, which was the same size as a lotus leaf, and motioned Sun Wukong to stand on it.

Sun Wukong did not hesitate, and jumped directly into Tathagata’s hand, looked up at him and shouted: “I’m going out now, watch me!” He

somersaulted out, and in an instant he didn’t know where he was flying to.

Sun Wukong kept flying far away, and suddenly saw five huge pillars in front of him. He thought to himself, could this be the end of the sky? He couldn’t go any further!

He was about to turn back, but then thought: “No! I have to make a mark, lest Tathagata refuse to pay me.” He

then pulled out a hair and blew it, and it turned into a hair brush, and wrote “The Great Sage Equaling Heaven was here” on one of the pillars.

After writing it, he thought it was not enough, so he urinated on the first pillar and somersaulted back to the Heavenly Palace.

When he arrived in front of Tathagata, he said loudly: “I have been there and back again. You can ask the Jade Emperor to give up his throne and hand over the Heavenly Palace to me!”

Tathagata scolded: “I will kill you, you piss monkey! You haven’t even flown out of my palm yet!”

Sun Wukong laughed and said: “You don’t believe it. I flew to the end of the sky with a somersault. There are five flesh-red pillars there, leaving a green gas. I left a mark there. Do you dare to follow me to see it?”

Tathagata said: “No need to go, just look back!”

Sun Wukong turned around after hearing this, and his fiery eyes swept over. He saw that Tathagata’s right middle finger was written with “The Great Sage Equal to Heaven was here”, and there was a smell of monkey urine on the thumb.

He was shocked: “Is there such a thing, such a thing? I wrote this word on the pillar supporting the sky, how did it return to his middle finger? Is it a magic of foresight? If you don’t believe it, wait for me to go and see it again!”

Seeing that Tathagata had successfully subdued Sun Wukong, the gods in the heavens, the arhats, and Kasyapa all put their hands together and said, “Good, good!”

Pressing Sun Wukong under the Five Elements Mountain, Tathagata turned around and was about to leave.

An envoy came to him quickly and said, “Please wait a moment, Tathagata, my master is coming!”

It turned out that several of the highest-ranking celestial masters had arrived, and Tathagata’s status was not as high as theirs at the moment. Although these celestial masters had not achieved sainthood in the current world, they were only one step away from sainthood, and Tathagata was older. Tathagata did not dare to neglect it, so he followed the envoy to the Heavenly Palace.

“It seems they want to host a banquet for you!” Jia Zhengjin glanced at the gods who were heading to the Heavenly Palace, and whispered to Tathagata, “Now Sun Wukong has been pressed under the Five Elements Mountain, and he will have to wait for at least five hundred years. I will not go to the Heavenly Palace to accompany you to the banquet, and will come back when it is almost time. Let’s leave first!”

Tathagata smiled and nodded to him, and saluted with his hands clasped together.

Jia Zhengjin turned around and disappeared directly, returning to the mortal world.

However, Sun Wukong soon sensed the sacred breath emanating from Jia Zhengjin, so he looked up at the empty space and shouted: “Tathagata! Is that you? You dare to deceive me, it’s really abominable! If you have the guts, let me out and fight me in an open battle! Do you dare?”

It seems that Sun Wukong only felt the existence of a powerful force, but could not tell who it was. And he had only seen Tathagata when he was making trouble in the Heavenly Palace, so he mistakenly thought it was him.
