Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World - Chapter 16541
Chapter 16539. The Golden Buddha
Of course, the God of Creation couldn’t focus all his attention on dealing with Zhao Hai. He had other things to do. Like now, he came to Buddha City to exchange for supplies. His divine kingdom was still too small, only able to house about a thousand people. Plus, he had suffered significant losses there. So, what he needed were magical artifacts. He planned to continue his missionary work in the area where his divine kingdom was located, as finding a suitable place to spread his teachings wasn’t easy.
So why did he need magical artifacts if he just wanted to spread his teachings? It was simple. Even the worst magical artifacts in the divine realm would be considered divine weapons in the mortal world. If he wanted to develop enough followers quickly, he needed to make them believe he was incredibly powerful. And nothing was more direct than giving them one or two more powerful magical artifacts.
He had preached in the divine realm, so he knew very well how to quickly convert people into his devoted followers. That’s why he was going to the Buddhist city to buy some magical artifacts.
The divine realm did have magical artifacts, and many of them at that. However, many of these artifacts were crudely made and unacceptable in the divine realm. Using them to attack gods might not even break through their defenses.
But if these artifacts were taken to the mortal realm, they would at least be considered treasures of a sect, and such artifacts would allow one to roam freely in the mortal realm. Giving such artifacts to people in the mortal realm would quickly convert them into his followers.
Zhao Hai had already discovered this situation. Ordinary magical artifacts were largely useless in the God Realm. Only sect-protecting treasures had some use, but even that was limited. Artifacts like the Underground Palace Flower were usable in the God Realm because they were used as temporary shelter, not for offense or defense. It was like setting up a tent in the ground; you could live in it, but it offered no defense, so it couldn’t even be considered a house.
However, having a tent was still far better than living in the open. Many people in the Black Sea were essentially living in the open, and they lacked the materials to build houses or tents. So, when someone offered them tents, they naturally bought them immediately.
The magical artifacts used in combat are completely different from those in the underground palace. Combat artifacts are meant for face-to-face battles with enemies. Artifacts brought from the lower realms are almost entirely unusable in the divine realm; only the most treasured artifacts are barely usable, essentially like wooden swords with some offensive power, but of little use to the gods.
So why are these artifacts still sold in the Buddha City? Because they are sold to beings like the God of Creation, specifically to bestow upon their followers. These gods are very experienced in this regard.
As for where the metal in Buddha City comes from, it’s simple. The city lord of Buddha City, the Buddha himself, has a large and numerous following. If he didn’t have enough followers, he could never have built Buddha City. It’s incredibly easy for him to have his followers offer him metal. This metal, brought from the lower realms, is unusable in the divine realm without purification and refinement. However, it’s perfectly fine for crafting magical artifacts to be given to his followers in the lower realms—no purification or refinement is needed; it can be directly crafted into artifacts.
The metal that Buddha City itself needs doesn’t require offerings from his followers; the Buddha can create it himself. Don’t forget, he’s a primordial god, and such gods can create things from nothing.
What is creating things from nothing? It’s essentially a form of energy conversion. They can transform the omnipresent spiritual energy in the divine realm into other substances, various kinds of resources, including metal. The metal they create is the metal of the divine realm, which can be used directly there without further purification or refinement.
Of course, this kind of metal is rarely sold outside of Buddha City. Even though Buddha can create metal himself, he can’t produce it indefinitely; the amount he can create each day is limited. Because of this, he doesn’t even have enough metal for himself in the divine realm, let alone sell it.
Of course, he will sell metal offered by believers, but at an extremely high price. The God of Creation is well aware of the importance of this magical artifact, so he plans to buy some to reward his followers when he develops new ones.
As for where the God of Creation will preach, it will still be in the divine realm. Although the divine kingdom has disappeared, the divine realm contains more than just that landmass. Originally, the God of Creation preached in the divine kingdom and its surrounding cities, but he only preached there and didn’t spread too far. Now that the divine kingdom and those cities have all disappeared, he can only preach in other smaller realms.
Although the Blood Slaughter Sect had previously taken over many small domains in the Divine Realm and incorporated all the continents within them into the Ouroboros body, there were simply too many small domains in the Divine Realm, and many of them remained intact. These small domains also contained continents, and the God of Creation could easily go there to spread his teachings.
Although finding those smaller domains and preaching within them would be extremely difficult, it was still simpler than searching for new interfaces in the void. Therefore, the God of Creation’s goal remained to preach in the divine realms. This time, he was experienced and, of course, made thorough preparations before preaching. In
fact, this was largely thanks to Zhao Hai’s reminder. When he had previously caused trouble for Zhao Hai, Zhao Hai had told him that instead of constantly bothering him, he should develop new followers. At the time, the God of Creation seemed dismissive, but after returning home, the more he thought about it, the more he realized Zhao Hai’s reasoning made sense, so he prepared to develop new followers.
In fact, around the Buddha City, there were many small divine kingdoms. These small divine kingdoms were all small and had not yet been equipped with magical artifacts. This meant that if these small divine kingdoms were to be moved, it would require the gods themselves to propel them, or their followers to do so. Of course, under normal circumstances, such small divine kingdoms would not move.
The reason these small divine kingdoms were built here was because they were very close to the Buddha City. The Buddhas in the Buddha City wouldn’t bother to seize these small divine kingdoms, as there was no need. Their divine kingdoms were too small for the Buddhas to care about, and since they were so close to the Buddha City, no one dared to wage war around it. This meant that small divine kingdoms like the God of Creation were actually receiving protection from the Buddha City in a disguised form, though the Buddhas simply didn’t care.
The God of Creation arrived at the city gate of the Buddha City. The Buddha City was enormous, circular in shape, with a diameter of about a thousand miles. It had four main city gates, and next to each main gate were four smaller gates. The God of Creation arrived at the east gate of the Buddha City, where three large characters were inscribed: Dongguang Gate.
The city is called Dongguang Gate because the city lord of this Buddhist city, the Buddha, is named Golden Light Buddha. Since his name contains the character for “light,” all four gates of the city are named with this character: East Light Gate, West Light Gate, South Light Gate, and North Light Gate.
Actually, in the divine realm, there is no distinction between east, west, south, and north, but since the Buddhist city is named after these directions, no one objects.
Before entering Dongguang Gate, the God of Creation glanced outside the city. Many large magical artifacts were parked there, each with a different shape, all obediently parked outside the city. These weren’t just parked there for free; they required payment.
The God of Creation looked at those large magical artifacts with envy, and then a trace of hatred flashed in his eyes again. He was almost finished completing his own magical artifact, but because of Zhao Hai, he hadn’t been able to complete it. How could he not hate him?
Despite his resentment, he said nothing and turned to enter the city. Upon entering, he found it to be just like any other city in the lower realms, with all sorts of shops and many people strolling through the streets. Some of these people were gods, while others hadn’t reached the god-level.
However, the God of Creation dared not underestimate those cultivators who hadn’t reached the god-level. These individuals either came from the divine kingdoms of those large magical artifacts or were cultivators from the Buddhist kingdom. Some gods, having arrived in the Buddhist city, didn’t want to enter directly but instead sent their followers to buy things. Furthermore, the Buddhist city already had many cultivators, all followers of the Golden Light Buddha, so they all stayed there.
Don’t assume that believers can freely enter the divine kingdom. There are high requirements for a believer to enter. First, the believer must be a fanatical follower of that deity. Second, they must voluntarily relinquish their physical body. Only then can the deity guide them into their divine kingdom. If the deity’s kingdom is too small to accommodate so many believers, the believer’s soul will reside within the deity until the kingdom is large enough to house them. Of course, during this process, the believer’s soul will suffer some damage, requiring the deity to help replenish it. In this process, the believer may lose things such as memories or emotions.
If a deity has believers, and one believer is killed, will the believer’s soul imprint return to the deity? Yes, the believer’s soul imprint will return to the deity’s side, but it will be very difficult for him to enter the divine realm again. Of course, this is not absolute; if the deity wishes, he can still place the believer into the divine realm, but he will need to expend much more effort to repair the believer’s soul.
