Chapter 16504 Transfer

“Liu Rong, congratulations! The sect recently established a new branch, and you’ve been transferred there as an elder, this time as a managing elder,” a managing elder of the Blood Slaughter Sect said with a smile to Liu Rong.

Liu Rong was the sect leader of a large sect in a small domain. Of course, this “large sect” referred to only within that small domain; it couldn’t compare to the Blood Slaughter Sect. Precisely because of this, after their small domain was conquered by the Blood Slaughter Sect, Liu Rong naturally joined the sect, becoming just an ordinary elder, not even a managing elder.

The huge disparity made Liu Rong feel extremely unbalanced, but he also knew the power of the Blood Slaughter Sect and dared not rebel. He was well aware that if he rebelled, only death awaited him. Therefore, since joining the Blood Slaughter Sect, he had always been very obedient and low-key, as if he had truly integrated into the sect.

That’s why no one ever doubted him. Even after the Blood Slaughter Sect established the Rune Cult, Liu Rong was among the first to join. Moreover, he did his morning prayers very well every day, and everything seemed perfectly normal. He was confident that no one would notice anything amiss.

That’s why he had no doubts about the sudden transfer order; on the contrary, he was overjoyed. He thought his performance had finally impressed the sect, and now they were finally going to give him power. So he was very happy and immediately bowed to the elder in charge, saying, “Thank you, Elder. I will definitely not be late.” The

elder in charge nodded, smiled slightly, and then said, “Alright, then pack your things and report for duty the day after tomorrow.”

Liu Rong responded, and the elder in charge gave him a coordinate before turning and leaving. After the elder in charge left, Liu Rong put away his excited expression. He glanced at the coordinate and a smile appeared on his face. He was truly happy. He knew very well that he had finally taken a step forward. He would advance step by step and eventually become one of the people at the center of power in the Blood Slaughter Sect.

Of course, Liu Rong quickly suppressed his true intentions. He had to continue pretending; he couldn’t let anyone discover his ulterior motives. If they did, he was finished. The incident with Wan Hai and the others had served as a wake-up call. He had better keep his thoughts hidden; once discovered, he was doomed.

For the next two days, he prepared diligently, never missing a single morning prayer. He needed to make everyone believe he was extremely devout, only then would the sect not suspect him.

Finally, the day arrived for him to report to the new branch. He made a point of first going to the managing elder to say goodbye, and also to those sitting around him. Then he activated the teleportation array and went to the coordinates. He still knew nothing about this new branch and was eager to see what it was all about.

When he appeared, he was taken aback. He found himself in a large courtyard, seemingly the center of a complex of buildings, which appeared to be on an island. He judged this by the sound of waves and the smell of seawater. Just as

he was about to look around, a voice called out, “Hello, are you the new elder?”

Liu Rong looked in the direction of the voice and saw a cultivator standing not far from the teleportation array, watching him. He had been so focused on his surroundings that he hadn’t noticed the man. He quickly bowed and said, “I am Liu Rong, the new elder.”

The man immediately returned the bow and smiled, “I am Deng Wei, also an elder here. Since this is a newly established branch, not many people have arrived yet, so the sect gave us the task of receiving people here.”

Liu Rong immediately smiled and said, “Thank you, Elder Deng.” He stepped out of the teleportation array and approached Deng Wei, asking, “Elder Deng, how many people are here now?”

Deng Wei smiled and replied, “Only a few elders have arrived; they’ve all gone to familiarize themselves with the surroundings.”

Liu Rong immediately smiled and said, “I feel like we’re on an island. Elder Deng, do you know what our branch is all about?”

Deng Wei shook his head, saying, “I don’t know yet. The sect told me they’d send someone to inform us; it seems there’s some special mission.”

Liu Rong’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately asked, “A special mission? Is it dangerous?”

“I don’t know either, but generally, special missions seem to be dangerous. I wonder what the sect is thinking? Why would they give us such dangerous missions?”

Upon hearing this, Liu Rong was taken aback. Normally, Blood Slaughter Sect disciples wouldn’t complain like this, which made Liu Rong glance at Deng Wei a few more times.

Deng Wei seemed to realize his slip of the tongue and smiled awkwardly, saying, “I meant that the sect shouldn’t have any dangerous missions right now. Maybe it really is just some special missions.”

Liu Rong nodded, then said, “Then let me check the surroundings.” Deng Wei nodded, and Liu Rong clasped his hands in a fist salute before taking flight. Once airborne, he discovered he was indeed on an island. The island was quite large, and they were on the highest mountain, their courtyard located atop the peak.

The scenery on the island was quite nice, covered in trees and featuring a beach, but there were no other islands in sight; it seemed like an isolated island.

Just then, he suddenly saw several figures flying towards them from all directions of the island. Liu Rong immediately guessed that these must be the elders Deng Wei had mentioned earlier, who had gone to check the surrounding area and were now returning.

Sure enough, the group soon arrived at his side. They all clasped their hands in a fist salute to Liu Rong, and one of the elders smiled and said, “I am Lin Gu, greetings. You were also transferred here?”

Liu Rong immediately smiled and replied, “I am Liu Rong, I was just transferred here too. Greetings, everyone.” They all exchanged greetings, each appearing extremely polite.

At this moment, Liu Rong suddenly noticed that more people were arriving at the teleportation array below, and this time there were quite a few. More and more people arrived, exchanging a few words with Deng Wei before taking flight. Liu Rong greeted them as well.

But this wasn’t the end. More and more people arrived, and soon the number exceeded ten thousand. Looking at the growing crowd and then at the manor—though large, it was still somewhat difficult to house so many people—Liu Rong noticed that the people arriving seemed to be quite powerful. So many experts had been gathered here; what did this mean? Was the sect planning some major operation?

Just then, a person suddenly appeared in the teleportation array. Everyone was stunned upon seeing the newcomer, because they all recognized him, or at least had seen his projection before. This person was none other than Ding Chunming, one of the highest-ranking members of the sect.

Upon seeing Ding Chunming, everyone’s hearts tightened, and they all stood respectfully at attention, bowing to him and saying, “Greetings, Elder Ding.”

Ding Chunming nodded, his face expressionless. He simply moved, flying directly up and landing in front of them. He then looked at them and said, “Everyone’s here, that’s good. I’ve brought you all here for one thing: why have you never treated the young master like a god? Can you give me a reasonable explanation?” Upon hearing

Ding Chunming’s words, Liu Rong and the others were all shocked. In an instant, over ten thousand people fell silent; no one spoke, and the entire area was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Ding Chunming’s eyes swept over the crowd like lightning, then he said, “What? Can’t anyone give me a reasonable explanation?”

Liu Rong, quick-witted, immediately reacted and bowed to Ding Chunming, saying, “Elder Ding, we are innocent! We are utterly loyal to the Sect Master! We pray every day, and we’ve never missed a morning prayer. We are loyal to the Sect Master! We absolutely regard the Sect Master as our only god!” The others all nodded

, pleading their innocence. Ding Chunming looked at them, then waved his hand, and they stopped, all looking at Ding Chunming. Ding Chunming looked at them and then said in a deep voice, “So, it seems the young master has wronged you?”

Liu Rong and the others fell silent instantly. They truly hadn’t expected that this matter was related to Zhao Hai. Could it be that Zhao Hai personally gave the order? Thinking of this, Liu Rong’s heart sank. He knew his own situation well; he was fully aware of how much reverence he held for Zhao Hai. He had never truly regarded Zhao Hai as a god. His daily prayers and morning rituals were merely for show. If they had indeed been personally transferred by Zhao Hai this time, it meant that Zhao Hai knew everything they had done? If that were the case, then they were truly doomed.

Ding Chunming looked at them and continued, “Aren’t you curious why Young Master knows about this? It’s actually quite simple. Because Young Master truly possesses god-like strength. Every day you pray to his statue, and Young Master senses it all. Your prayers transform into strands of faith power, which Young Master uses. So, Young Master naturally knows who is truly praying and who is just pretending. Don’t think that with so many people in the sect, Young Master wouldn’t know what you’ve done. You are completely unaware of Young Master’s strength. I’m truly curious why you think Young Master wouldn’t know what you’ve done. Can you tell me?” (End of Chapter)
