Chapter 16141 Expansion

Inside the room, there was a large desk. Behind the desk sat a man dressed in a dark red robe, his hair jet black and shiny. He held a pen in his hand, writing something on a piece of paper.

Fan Ying bowed to the man and said, “Greetings, Sect Master.”

The Blood Demon Sect Master didn’t even raise his head, only nodding and saying, “Wait a moment.” Fan Ying responded and stood there obediently. After a while, the Sect Master put down his pen, then looked at Fan Ying and smiled, saying, “Elder Fan, what is it?”

He was very handsome, appearing to be in his forties, with three long wisps of beard on his face. He gave off a very gentle feeling, but his eyes were somewhat narrow and curved when he smiled. This didn’t make him look more gentle; instead, it gave him a sinister air.

Fan Ying hurriedly bowed to the sect leader and said, “Reporting to the sect leader, Fan Hui, a disciple of our Enforcement Hall, reported to me today that the traitor Yin Hongwei is dead.”

Upon hearing this, the sect leader was taken aback, then a hint of joy appeared on his face. He immediately asked, “Are you sure?”

Fan Ying nodded, took out a glass bottle containing Yin Hongwei’s blood, and presented it with both hands, saying, “It’s confirmed.”

The sect leader waved his hand, taking the glass bottle. He examined it carefully and saw three characters inside—Yin Hongwei. The sect leader nodded and then said, “Someone, bring me a backup of Yin Hongwei’s blood.” A disciple responded and immediately went to fetch the backup blood.

In the Blood Demon Sect, every disciple must leave a portion of their blood with the sect. This portion of blood is not just a single drop; it is a considerable amount. This portion of blood is divided into two parts. One part is used, like Fan Hui did before, to track the blood’s owner. The other part is sealed away and will only be used at the very end. Of course, now is the end, since Yin Hongwei is already dead.

A flash of red light appeared in the sect leader’s hand and entered the glass bottle. A deathly black mist rose from the bottle once more. The sect leader nodded, placed the bottle on the desk, and then looked at Fan Ying, saying, “Elder Fan, is this Fan Hui a disciple of your Fan family?”

Fan Ying replied, “Yes, he’s an ordinary disciple of the Fan family. He was ordered to investigate Yin Hongwei. He first discovered Yin Hongwei’s Blood King Divine Curse, but when he was about to find Yin Hongwei, the Blood King Divine Curse disappeared. He had no choice but to ask the sect for Yin Hongwei’s blood and then use his natal blood guide to finally find Yin Hongwei.”

The sect leader nodded. At this moment, the disciple entered, approached the sect leader’s desk, holding a glass bottle in both hands, and placed it on the desk.

The sect leader picked up the newly acquired bottle. He glanced at the words inside—Yin Hongwei. A flash of red light appeared in his hand, and the blood in the bottle emitted a burst of red light, pointing towards the bottle Fan Ying had brought. Fan Ying knew this was confirmation that the blood in both bottles belonged to the same person, and the red light signified that both bottles of blood indeed came from the same individual.

After confirming that the two bottles of blood were from the same person, the blood in the bottle in the sect leader’s hand once again emitted a black mist—a deathly black mist.

The sect leader nodded, put down the glass bottle, and then said, “Good, he is indeed dead. Very well done. The sect’s reward has already been decided; distribute it directly. But don’t publicize this matter. After all, those mad dogs of the Shadow Guard are not to be trifled with; we shouldn’t provoke them further.”

Fan Ying responded, and the sect leader waved his hand. Fan Ying bowed to the sect leader before leaving the room. The sect leader glanced at the two glass bottles on the desk, then coldly snorted, “Shadow Guards, even if you know we killed them, so what? As long as we don’t admit it, you can’t do anything to me. Someone, go and dispose of these two bottles of blood.” A disciple responded, picked up the two glass bottles, and turned to leave.

The disciple took the two bottles to the blood pool in the room, opened the bottles, and poured the two drops of blood into the blood pool. The blood immediately merged into the pool and disappeared. Then the disciple left the room with the two glass bottles.

Meanwhile, Fan Hui had already returned to his room. He knew very well that he would gain a lot of benefits this time. With the support of the Blood Slaughter Sect, his strength would definitely improve significantly. Fan Hui couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation. He wanted to see how far he could go in the Blood Demon Sect.

Meanwhile, the Blood Slaughter Sect launched an attack on several smaller sects in the surrounding area. Their method was the same as when they dealt with the Sand River Sect: they started by targeting the markets of these smaller sects, turning the disciples there into Blood Slaughter Sect members. They then extracted intelligence from these sects and used it to attack them. These smaller sects didn’t even have a single Kingdom-level expert, so they were no match for the Blood Slaughter Sect’s attacks. They were quickly captured. After

taking over the smaller sects, they also seized their markets. All of this was done silently and without anyone knowing.

Chang Jun had been keeping a close eye on the surroundings, especially the Beast Town City. Many of the rogue cultivators who had joined the Blood Slaughter Sect had already entered the Beast Town City. These rogue cultivators, like other rogue cultivators, would do missions every day. However, because there were so many rogue cultivators in the Beast Town City, they would act in batches. When some rogue cultivators went out to do missions, others would stay in the Beast Town City to monitor the garrison. If the garrison in the Beast Town City made any unusual moves, Chang Jun would immediately receive the news.

Chang Jun wasn’t afraid of the sects. Any sect in the Divine Kingdom could easily defeat the Blood Slaughter Sect. What Chang Jun truly cared about was the Divine Kingdom’s reaction. He knew perfectly well that once the people of the Divine Kingdom learned that the Blood Slaughter Sect was an opponent eyeing them covetously, they would definitely do everything in their power to eliminate it. Of course, the Blood Slaughter Sect wasn’t afraid of them either, but if they really did that, the Blood Slaughter Sect would be forced into a prolonged and high-intensity war, which wouldn’t necessarily be a good thing for them.

Although the disciples of the Blood Slaughter Sect could all be resurrected indefinitely, surely no one wanted to be resurrected forever? After all, while people can be resurrected, no one would willingly experience the pain before death or the feeling of dying. Furthermore, Zhao Hai worried that resurrecting his disciples too many times would affect their mental state and their natal runes. If too many resurrections caused them to become mentally ill or damaged their natal runes, it would be too late for regrets. Therefore, although theoretically those disciples could be resurrected indefinitely, Zhao Hai didn’t want them to die if possible.

It was precisely because of this thought that Chang Jun and his group acted so cautiously. They wouldn’t easily risk the lives of their disciples. And if they could gradually bring all the sects in the Divine Kingdom under their control, why would they necessarily wage war against the entire Divine Kingdom? That’s why Chang Jun and his group were so careful.

Chang Jun and Wen Wenhai were both veterans who had followed Zhao Hai for a long time, and they had been helping him manage the Blood Slaughter Sect. They were arguably the people who understood Zhao Hai best. They knew that Zhao Hai didn’t want a full-scale war with the Divine Kingdom, which was why Chang Jun was acting so cautiously.

During this process, they also discovered some Shadow Guards in some markets. Strangely enough, small sects like the Jade Sun Sect didn’t have Shadow Guards, but they were present in those markets. It was unclear what those Shadow Guards were thinking.

However, now all those Shadow Guards have become members of the Blood Slaughter Sect. Without anyone knowing, the Blood Slaughter Sect has secretly controlled three medium-sized sects and eight small sects. The three medium-sized sects have a total of ten kingdom-level experts, including five from the Changchun Sect and two from the Shahe Sect. The other medium-sized sect, called the Hundred Beasts Sect, has three kingdom-level experts. As for the markets they control, the number has long exceeded one hundred, approaching two hundred markets. The area they control is even larger. However, the area they control lacks strategic depth because the small sects are all located near the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain. In other words, the area controlled by the Blood Slaughter Sect is a long and narrow area adjacent to the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain, but outsiders are unaware of this.

After taking control of all the markets controlled by these smaller sects, Chang Jun didn’t rush into expansion. Instead, he summoned all the newly joined Kingdom-level experts to his office. Once the ten of them arrived, Chang Jun said, “Everyone, you should all know the current situation of the sect. We have taken control of all the sects in the Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain area. Of course, we can continue to expand outwards, but this will create a problem. We will inevitably come into contact with the areas inhabited by civilians. Although we can use teleportation arrays to bypass those areas, this will create a power vacuum in those areas. This is not necessarily a good thing. If the Divine Kingdom leaves a few teleportation arrays in those areas, then if someone comes to attack us in the future, they can simply emerge from those arrays and launch a surprise attack. This is absolutely unacceptable. So, how to deal with those areas inhabited by civilians is a problem. Let’s all think of a solution.”
