Chapter 16134 Alchemy

Previously, the Shahe Sect did not have this order. This order only came into effect after the Changchun Sect announced the merger of the Yuyang Sect into the Changchun Sect. The reason was quite simple: when Feng Wuya wanted to go to the Yuyang Sect, he was stopped by the Shahe Sect. After a fierce battle, Feng Wuya and his group still managed to go, but many of Feng Wuya’s subordinates were injured. Originally, the Shahe Sect only intended to make things difficult for Feng Wuya; he was just a rogue cultivator, and although he was a Kingdom-level expert, the Shahe Sect was not afraid of him. However, they did not expect that… After the Jade Sun Sect merged into the Changchun Sect, the Changchun Sect, which originally had five Kingdom-level experts, now added Feng Wuya, bringing its total to six. The Sand River Sect, on the other hand, only had two. This is why the Sand River Sect is so cautious. They understand that offending a rogue cultivator like Feng Wuya is entirely different from offending a Grand Elder of the Changchun Sect. Therefore, the Sand River Sect is extremely careful; they must first ensure there are no traitors within their sect.

Don’t assume that sects are immune to traitors. In fact, traitorous incidents are quite common. Although all sects place restrictions on their disciples, these restrictions are not as sophisticated as those of the Blood Slaughter Sect. The Blood Slaughter Sect’s restrictions are trigger-based; any act of betrayal will trigger them. Their restrictions, however, are not trigger-based. Only after discovering a disciple’s betrayal can they use the restrictions to kill that disciple, which is no easy task.

Therefore, to prevent disciples from betraying their sects, various sects had to resort to surveillance. Today, Sheng Yihuai’s visit to Zhang Long was discovered by the managing elder of Tiesha Market, who then sent Li Yihong to test Sheng Yihuai. Upon hearing that Sheng Yihuai had only bought Seven-Colored Orchids, he was relieved. It was common for sect disciples to buy medicinal herbs from independent cultivators, so he didn’t take it seriously.

Meanwhile, Sheng Yihuai returned to his room and immediately wrote down all the information about the Shahe Sect in a report, which he then sent directly to the Blood Slaughter Sect. This report was quickly seen by Chang Jun.

Chang Jun initially came to the Divine Kingdom alone, but now he’s no longer alone. He has a team of secretaries to help him handle various matters. Only important matters are presented to Chang Jun directly. This is standard practice for powerful elders in the Blood Slaughter Sect. Generally, any elder in charge of affairs within the sect has such a team of secretaries, though the number varies depending on their rank. The lowest-ranking elders typically have two secretaries, while higher-ranking elders have more. Elders like Chang Jun have a team of over a hundred secretaries.

The reason the Blood Slaughter Sect provides secretaries to all elders isn’t because they want to waste time, but because these secretaries are essentially a talent pool. You wouldn’t think that a cultivator who has never managed disciples before could successfully manage a group of disciples, would you? Impossible. The elders dispatched by the Blood Slaughter Sect are usually drawn from their secretarial teams. These secretaries have been with the elders for a long time, handling many sect affairs, making them highly experienced managers. They can be deployed immediately when needed.

This is why the Blood Slaughter Sect was able to accept so many new recruits without any problems. The Blood Slaughter Sect has a formidable talent pool; they can readily provide a large number of experienced managers, and new recruits immediately fill in when secretaries are transferred. Therefore, the Blood Slaughter Sect never lacks talent. So,

although Chang Jun has many responsibilities, he can manage them all thanks to the secretarial team. However, this particular matter concerns the attack on the Sand River Sect, which is why this intelligence was delivered to him.

After reviewing the intelligence report, Chang Jun immediately sent a letter to Feng Wuya, asking him to come to his office. Not long after the letter was sent, Feng Wuya arrived. After exchanging greetings, Chang Jun said to Feng Wuya, “Wuya, take a look at this.” He then handed him the intelligence report. After reading it, Feng Wuya immediately asked

, “Are we going to attack the Shahe Sect?”

Chang Jun nodded and said, “Yes, we’re going to attack the Shahe Sect. You have a grudge against them, so for this operation, I plan to have you lead the team and assign you ten alien cavalrymen. What do you think?” Feng Wuya’s face lit up

with joy. He immediately stood up and said to Chang Jun, “Great! Excellent! I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time!”

Chang Jun smiled and said, “Sit down, don’t be so excited.” Feng Wuya responded and then sat down.

After he sat down, Feng Wuya asked Chang Jun, “When do you think would be a good day to act?”

Feng Wuya said in a deep voice, “Do we have the coordinates of the Shahe Sect now? If we do, we can act anytime.”

Chang Jun replied, “We do have the coordinates of the Shahe Sect, but only the outer perimeter. How about this, in a few days, our person in the Shahe Sect will be returning. He’s a disciple of the Shahe Sect and can enter the central area. Once he gets there, we’ll have the coordinates of the central area, and he can also help us set up some magic arrays. Then we can launch a full-scale attack on those people.”

Upon hearing this, Feng Wuya nodded and said, “Alright, let’s wait a bit. A few more days won’t make a difference.”

Chang Jun nodded and said, “Alright, then wait a few more days. You go back and prepare. We’ll attack in a few days.” Feng Wuya responded, then stood up, bowed to Chang Jun, and turned to leave.

Meanwhile, Sheng Yihuai also received orders from the Blood Slaughter Sect. The sect also gave him a magic array and told him to take it with him when he returned to the Sand River Sect. Once he was back, he could release the array at night, or in a secluded place. He didn’t need to do anything else; he just needed to release the array.

Sheng Yihuai naturally didn’t object. He had already mentioned that he would be returning to the sect in a few days, so he didn’t even need an excuse. He stayed in Iron Sand Market for a few days, did his shift, and then reported to the managing elder before returning to the Sand River Sect.

He was originally a disciple of the Shahe Sect. Although he was stationed in the market town, this stationing was actually a sect task. They were stationed there for a few years and then had to return to the Shahe Sect. They weren’t exiled there, so he could return to the sect at any time. However, he couldn’t stay in the sect for too long. If he stayed in the sect for too long without returning to the Iron Sand Market Town, he would be punished. So, there was no problem with him returning to the Shahe Sect.

He also had his own residence in the Shahe Sect. After returning, he first went to check on his residence. There was nothing wrong with it except for some dust. Everything was normal. He used magic to clean his residence before going to the Shahe Sect’s alchemy hall.

Most sects have both an alchemy hall and a weapon-refining hall. Of course, the skill levels vary, but the alchemy hall of the Shahe Sect is quite good. Sheng Yihuai arrived at the alchemy hall, where there were receptionists. He went directly to one and said, “I want to refine pills.”

The receptionist asked, “Will you provide the medicinal herbs yourself, or will the sect provide them?”

Sheng Yihuai replied, “I will provide the main medicinal herbs myself, and the sect will provide the remaining auxiliary herbs.”

The receptionist nodded and then asked, “What medicinal herbs do you want to use for refining pills?”

Sheng Yihuai took out the box containing the Seven-Colored Orchid, placed it on the table, and said to the receptionist, “Seven-Colored Orchid.”

The receptionist picked up the box, opened it, glanced at it, and his eyes lit up. He then nodded and said, “A high-grade Seven-Colored Orchid.” He then closed the box again and… He noted this down, then turned to Sheng Yihuai and said, “If the sect provides the medicinal herbs, you’ll need to pay a total of five hundred spirit stones.”

Sheng Yihuai nodded, then took out a spatial bag and placed it on the table. The receiving disciple picked up the spatial bag, glanced at it, and found that there were indeed five hundred spirit stones inside. He then took the spatial bag aside and poured all the spirit stones into a cabinet, which was also a spatial magic artifact, but much larger than the spatial bag. He then returned the spatial bag to Sheng Yihuai and said, “Take a look at this. If there are no problems, just sign it.”

Sheng Yihuai nodded, picked up the papers, and looked at them. He found that the papers listed what medicinal herbs he had provided, what kind of pills he wanted to refine, the auxiliary medicinal herbs provided by the sect, how many spirit stones he had paid, and how long it would take to collect the pills, etc.

After confirming there were no problems, Sheng Yihuai signed his name. The receptionist tore off the bottom half of the paper and gave it to Sheng Yihuai; this was his proof of collection for the pills. Sheng Yihuai carefully put the paper away before turning to leave.

He quickly returned to his room and stayed there until nightfall. He then released the magic array given to him by the Blood Slaughter Sect, met up with some friends from the sect, went out for drinks, and then returned to his residence. After sleeping for a night, the next morning he used the teleportation array to return to Iron Sand Market. His mission there wasn’t over yet; he had to come back.
