Chapter 15950. The Experiment Begins.

“You mean, Elder Jia from the Transmission Hall took Ran Wen to your place today and selected ten people from you, saying it was for some kind of experiment?”

“Yes, brother, it was Elder Jia. I know him; he gave a lecture there. He’s the one who took Ran Wen. I don’t know what task they completed, but I think it must be something good, because Ran Wen selected several disciples he was previously close to.”

“Alright, I understand. Go ahead. I’ll have someone investigate this matter.”

Ge Wei responded, then bowed to Ge Ying and turned to leave. After Ge Wei left, Ge Ying frowned. He had thought that Ran Wen becoming an inner disciple was a significant threat, and he had prepared several methods to deal with Ran Wen once he entered the inner sect. However, to

Ge Ying’s surprise, although Ran Wen had entered the inner sect, he had disappeared. He hadn’t seen Ran Wen at all. How was he supposed to deal with Ran Wen now that he hadn’t seen him? He was also searching for Ran Wen, and finally found out that Ran Wen seemed to have been detained by the Transmission Hall, apparently to be subjected to some kind of experiment. There was nothing he could do; he couldn’t very well go to the Transmission Hall to deal with Ran Wen, could he? If he did, the Transmission Hall would punish him.

However, he didn’t believe Ran Wen would stay there indefinitely. Once Ran Wen returned, he would have a way to deal with him.

But he hadn’t expected that Ran Wen would now be going on a mission with the elders of the Transmission Hall, and had even taken several outer disciples with him. This made him even more uneasy. He realized that things seemed to be completely out of his control. He now had to find out what Ran Wen and the people from the Transmission Hall were doing.

With this in mind, Ge Ying immediately mobilized all his connections to investigate the matter. He wanted to see what Ran Wen and the others were up to.

He quickly received news that the Transmission Hall, acting on the sect leader’s orders, was conducting some kind of experiment, and Ran Wen was participating. However, no one knew what the experiment was about; all that was known was that the area they were in was a secluded zone, designated as a restricted area—a forbidden zone.

Upon hearing this, Ge Ying immediately dared not inquire further. The sect leader’s direct order and the establishment of a restricted zone indicated that this matter was far from simple. If he continued to inquire, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Although Ge Ying stopped asking questions, his mood worsened. He felt that what Ran Wen and the others were doing must be extremely important, but the more important it was, the more frightened he became. If Ran Wen and the others succeeded, Ran Wen would rise to great heights, and he and Ge Wei would likely face dire consequences. But what was most terrifying was that he had no way to stop it—this was Ge Ying’s greatest fear.

Regardless of Ge Ying’s thoughts, Elder Jia and Ran Wen had already led the disciples to the area where they were conducting their experiments. It was actually a large courtyard that could easily accommodate over a hundred people, but only a dozen or so of them were staying there, making it seem quite empty. There was a large open space in the courtyard, which was used for martial arts practice. Elder Jia had specially chosen this courtyard, and all kinds of facilities were quite complete.

Elder Jia landed directly in the courtyard on his flying sword. After everyone had disembarked, Elder Jia addressed the disciples, saying, “I brought you here today for an experiment. You all know about Ran Wen. He was originally just an ordinary disciple, but suddenly he reached the Power Level, and then in three months, he reached the Throne Level. All of this was because Ran Wen had a fortuitous encounter; he received the blessing of the God of Gluttony. Now, the sect wants you to also receive the blessing of the God of Gluttony and see if your cultivation speed will be as fast as Ran Wen’s. If your cultivation speed is as fast as Ran Wen’s, then the sect will promote this method throughout the entire sect. So, you’ve come here to participate in this training. What do you say? Any questions?”

The disciples exchanged glances, then looked at Ran Wen standing to the side. Their eyes lit up, and they all shook their heads, indicating no problem. They had always dreamed of becoming inner disciples, and now that such an opportunity was presented to them, how could they give it up? So, they all agreed.

Seeing that they all agreed, Elder Jia walked to the stone table in the courtyard, took out the statue of the God of Gluttony, and placed it on the table. He then said to the disciples, “Come, all of you, come and pay your respects to the statue.”

The disciples all responded and stepped forward, bowing three times to the statue of the God of Gluttony. After they finished bowing, Elder Jia said, “Alright, now all you have to do is eat.” He then took out a spatial bag filled with cooked demon beast meat. This demon beast meat was all prepared by the people of the Seven Emotions Sword Sect, and it would be delivered every day for this experiment.

When Elder Jia mentioned eating, the disciples were taken aback, unsure of his meaning. Elder Jia looked at them and explained, “The reason for this is that what you eat will be converted into energy, which can be transformed into spiritual energy and divine consciousness without any side effects. So, what you need to do now is eat and see how long it takes you to reach the Qi level.” As he spoke, Elder Jia took out some demon beast meat and handed it to the disciples.

After hearing Elder Jia’s words, the disciples understood why he wanted them to eat. Although they were still somewhat skeptical, they immediately accepted the demon beast meat and began to eat.

After they finished eating the meat, they immediately felt an energy spreading from their stomachs throughout their bodies. Elder Jia then pointed to the rooms, allowing them to choose one and begin their cultivation.

The disciples responded and each selected a room, entering directly inside. These rooms were almost all identical, essentially small suites with a living room outside and a bedroom inside. The bedroom was relatively larger, as it would also be used as a meditation room.

The disciples had no complaints about the rooms, as their original dwellings were not much different. They were quite satisfied with the rooms and immediately went to cultivate, eager to see the effects of their practice.

Elder Jia gave Ran Wen some beast meat. After Ran Wen accepted the meat, Elder Jia smiled and said, “You should eat some too. You haven’t been cultivating this way for days, are you feeling a little unaccustomed? This time, the sect is including us in this experiment, so we all have to participate. Come on.”

Ran Wen was taken aback when he heard Elder Jia say this, then replied, “Okay, thank you, Elder.”

Elder Jia smiled and nodded, then took the spatial bag and returned to his room. He also ate some beast meat and began cultivating.

An hour later, Elder Jia came out of his room, followed by Ran Wen and the ten disciples. Seeing them all come out, Elder Jia immediately asked, “How are you feeling?” The

ten disciples were all beaming with excitement. One disciple exclaimed, “It’s wonderful! The increase in spiritual energy we gained this time is equivalent to more than ten days of cultivation before!” The others all nodded, indicating that they felt the same way.

Seeing this, Elder Jia nodded in satisfaction. He then said, “Come back to me for more meat. After you’ve eaten, continue your cultivation.” The disciples responded, and Elder Jia distributed meat to each of them. After eating, they returned to their rooms to cultivate, including Ran Wen.

Elder Jia, of course, also cultivated with them. As he cultivated, he calculated that he had given each person at least a hundred catties of meat that day. However, judging from their appearance, they seemed to be able to eat it all. Elder Jia understood that they could indeed eat it, because he could eat it all too.

Since receiving the blessing of the God of Gluttony, their stomachs seemed to have become bottomless pits. No matter how much food was consumed, they could eat it all. However, they not only had to eat, but also convert the energy into spiritual energy. Although this process could be completed automatically, a portion of the spiritual energy would be wasted. Guiding the energy with spiritual energy would greatly increase the conversion rate, minimizing waste. Therefore, they needed to guide it.

Elder Jia wanted to determine the optimal conversion rate for his disciples each day, to see how much beast meat they could convert without waste—that was the most important thing.

After the day’s experiment, Elder Jia had a general idea of what to expect. The next day, he gave each of his ten disciples 100 jin of meat to eat and refine the spiritual energy to see if they had any left over. He gave Ran Wen a full 300 jin of meat, because Elder Jia had discovered that the stronger one’s strength, the more beast meat one could refine. So he gave Ran Wen 300 jin to see if he could manage it.

The next morning, Elder Jia asked the ten disciples, and they had all refined all 100 jin of beast meat without wasting any. It had taken them about eight hours to refine that 100 jin of meat. Considering they needed rest, eight hours of refining time was not short.

Ran Wen, however, had refined all 300 jin of meat, but it still wasn’t enough. That day, Elder Jia gave each of the ten disciples another 100 jin of meat. After receiving the meat, the disciples immediately returned to their rooms to prepare for cultivation. When he went to give Ran Wen some meat, Ran Wen refused to take it. (End of Chapter)
