Chapter 15947. The Elder Transmitting Skills

“What did you say? Ran Wen became an inner disciple? This is impossible, absolutely impossible!” Ge Wei’s face was filled with disbelief, a mixture of fear and madness. He didn’t truly disbelieve the words; he simply couldn’t believe it. He knew perfectly well how he had treated Ran Wen before. He was well aware that once Ran Wen truly became an inner disciple, even his brother would likely have little recourse. At that point, if Ran Wen wanted to deal with him again, it would be incredibly easy. Even if his brother intervened to protect him, his future would be bleak.

Most importantly, Ran Wen was still so young. Becoming an inner disciple at such a young age meant his potential was immense. Such a person would find it far too easy to deal with him.

Wait, there was something else he had overlooked: Ran Wen’s speed in advancing to the Throne level. Only a few months had passed since he became a Power-level cultivator, and now he had become a Throne-level cultivator? How could this be? Did anyone in this world truly possess such a cultivation speed? As far as he knew, none of the inner disciples seemed to have such a cultivation speed. Could it be that he used some secret technique?

Thinking of this, Ge Wei’s eyes lit up. He immediately thought of a way to deal with Ran Wen. He immediately walked out, saying as he went, “I’m going out for a bit.” The disciple who delivered the message looked at Ge Wei’s retreating figure with a disdainful expression. He knew what Ge Wei was going to do. In his eyes, Ge Wei was a good-for-nothing. With an inner disciple behind him, he still hadn’t reached the power level. What else could he be but a waste? He only dared to act arrogantly in the outer sect. What would he do when he reached a certain age? Even if his brother was an inner disciple, he couldn’t be allowed to remain an outer disciple forever. He might be assigned to an outer branch, and his life wouldn’t be easy then.

Meanwhile, Ran Wen had arrived at the Inner Disciple Management Office. The building for the Inner Disciple Management Office was much larger than that for the Outer Disciple Management Office. This wasn’t to say that the Outer Disciple Management Office was less important than the Inner Disciple Management Office—that was one reason, of course. Another reason was that there was more than a dozen Outer Disciple Management Offices within the Seven Emotions Sword Sect. Each office was responsible for managing the outer disciples within its own area. This meant that each Outer Disciple Management Office managed a relatively small number of outer disciples, as they only oversaw those in their designated area. Outer disciples residing in other areas were managed by other offices.

However, the Inner Disciple Management Office was different. It managed all the disciples of the Inner Sect, so the number of people under its management was much larger. Furthermore, Inner Disciple disciples were indeed considered more important than Outer Disciple disciples, hence the larger size of the Inner Disciple Management Office.

However, the functional areas of the Inner Disciple Management Office are quite similar to those of the Outer Disciple Management Office. The first floor is the mission hall, where inner disciples also perform missions. The second floor and above are for handling matters related to inner disciples; for example, disciples applying to join the inner sect usually do so on the second floor.

Ran Wen arrived at the second floor of the Inner Disciple Management Office and found a room with a sign on the door that read “Inner Disciple Registration Office.” He took a deep breath in front of the door and then gently knocked.

“Come in!” a voice came from inside. Ran Wen then pushed the door open and went in. Upon entering, he saw a room of about several dozen square meters, but it was divided in two by a wooden counter. Behind the counter sat four cultivators, each of whom looked to be around fifty years old, sitting leisurely.

Ran Wen immediately went over to them and said to one of them, “Hello, I’m here to apply to join the inner sect.” He then handed over his credentials.

The man nodded, took Ran Wen’s application form, glanced at its contents, and then his eyes lit up. He looked at Ran Wen and said, “You’ve reached the Throne level. Release your sword intent.”

Ran Wen looked up and realized the room wasn’t very tall, which made him hesitate. He looked at the man and asked, “Here?”

The man understood Ran Wen’s meaning and smiled slightly, “Just release it. This room has a special magic array set up, so your sword intent won’t be that strong.”

Ran Wen was taken aback; he’d never heard of such a magic array before. But since the other party told him to release it, he did. The next moment, two swords, one red and one green, appeared above his head. However, just as he released the swords, he was startled because he felt a force compressing his sword intent. His sword intent was forcibly compressed to the size of a normal sword. He was certain that this wouldn’t affect his sword intent; in fact, it might even strengthen it. He breathed a sigh of relief.

The man glanced at the two swords and then said, “The sword intent is very solid, very good. It seems your realm has stabilized quite a bit, that’s remarkable. I see this certificate says you only reached the Qi level three months ago? Is that true?”

His words immediately attracted the attention of the other three people in the room. They had been chatting quietly, but upon hearing this, they all stopped talking and looked at Ran Wen.

Ran Wen nodded and said, “Yes, three months ago, I just reached the Qi level.”

The man looked at Ran Wen and said, “Alright, wait a moment, I need to report this matter.”

Ran Wen nodded and stood there quietly waiting. He didn’t know if this was the proper procedure, but since he was already there, he would do as the man said.

The man then took out a piece of paper, wrote something on it, and with a flick of his wrist, the paper transformed into a paper crane, which then flew away.

After the paper crane flew away, the man looked at Ran Wen and said, “I can process your paperwork now.”

He then took out a notebook and began registering information. After completing the registration, he took out a jade token, entered some information into it, and then turned to Ran Wen, saying, “Take out your identity token.”

Ran Wen did as he was told and took out his identity token. It was an iron token with the character “seven” on the front, but this “seven” looked very special, like a sword. The back had Ran Wen’s name on it.

Ran Wen gave the identity token to the man, who then gave him the jade token, saying, “This is your new identity token. From now on, you are an inner disciple.” Ran Wen

responded and happily accepted the identity token. He was now an inner disciple, something he had never dared to dream of before. He was truly happy, as this identity would bring him many conveniences, and his family could also be taken care of by the sect.

Just then, the door to the room was pushed open again. Ran Wen immediately put away his identity token, then turned around and saw that a cultivator who looked to be around sixty years old had entered. Upon seeing this cultivator, Ran Wen immediately bowed and said, “Greetings, Elder.”

He addressed the old man as Elder because he recognized him; this old man was an elder of the Seven Emotions Sword Sect’s Transmission Hall. He knew the old man because he had lectured the outer disciples once, though only once. The elder

looked at Ran Wen and then said, “You are Ran Wen? You reached the Throne level in just three months?” As he spoke, he scrutinized Ran Wen from head to toe; he didn’t recognize him.

Ran Wen quickly replied, “Yes, Elder.”

The elder nodded and said, “Your situation is somewhat special. Come with me.” Ran Wen was taken aback, then quickly agreed and followed the elder out the door. As he walked, he kept thinking about what was so special about his situation. Was it because his cultivation speed was too fast? Weren’t there supposed to be some genius disciples in the sect whose cultivation speed was also incredibly fast? Some could even advance from the Power Level to the Throne Level in just one month. His three months, while not long, weren’t exactly the best either, were they?

The reason Ran Wen registered immediately after his advancement was because he was very clear that he might still have an enemy in the inner sect: Ge Ying. If he didn’t perform well and attract the sect’s attention, even if he became an inner disciple, Ge Ying would still target him, and he might die at any time. Therefore, for his own safety, he had to appear as a genius. That’s why he rushed to register; he wanted to attract the sect’s attention so that even if Ge Ying wanted to harm him, he probably wouldn’t dare. Harming an ordinary inner disciple and a genius inner disciple are completely different things.

However, Ran Wen hadn’t expected the sect’s reaction to be so strong. This was somewhat unexpected. He hadn’t anticipated such a strong reaction; if he had known, he would have waited a while longer.

Now he could only take it one step at a time, not knowing what the sect would do to him.

Lost in thought, he followed the Transmission Elder out of the Inner Disciple Management Office. The Transmission Elder then took to the air, and Ran Wen quickly followed. He dared not run; he knew very well that this Transmission Elder’s strength was at the Royal Palace level. Even though he had now reached the Throne level, he was still two levels below this elder. It would be too easy for the elder to deal with him; he wouldn’t be able to escape even if he wanted to. So he could only follow.

Soon, the two arrived at a five-story building, landed, and entered. They walked upstairs and quickly reached the top floor. The area was large, with a square hall in the center. In the center of the hall was a stone table surrounded by several stone benches and potted plants, giving it an antique feel.

Beside the hall were four doors. The elder leading the transmission of skills led Ran Wen directly to one, pushed it open, and went inside. Ran Wen quickly followed.

Upon entering the room, Ran Wen was stunned. He hadn’t expected the room to be so large; it was probably around 100 square meters. Most importantly, this vast space was completely open-plan, which was truly unexpected. (End of Chapter)
