Chapter 15838. Chapter 15838 confirmed.

“How is this possible? This is absolutely impossible!” Qin Luo stared at the Demon Blade Sect disciple in disbelief. He even began to doubt whether he had misjudged the situation. Otherwise, why could the Demon Blade Sect disciple still speak? A person who had truly become a corpse and been refined using corpse-refining techniques would be unable to speak. But the Demon Blade Sect disciple could speak. Could it be that he had misjudged the situation, and the disciple hadn’t been injured at all?

Impossible, absolutely impossible! Qin Luo still had complete faith in his eyes, but what was going on with the Demon Blade Sect disciple? Thinking of this, he immediately left his room and the inn, chasing after the Demon Blade Sect disciple. What

Qin Luo didn’t notice was that as he pursued the Demon Blade Sect disciple, the inn’s staff and guests all glanced at him, a glint of cunning in their eyes.

Qin Luo followed the Demon Blade Sect disciple from a distance, watching him return to his room. The disciple’s residence was in an ordinary area of the city, a small courtyard. Qin Luo noticed that only the disciple lived there; no one else was present. Reassured, Qin Luo noted the courtyard

‘s location before returning to the inn. He waited until midnight, then opened his window and jumped out, rising less than a foot into the air before slowly flying towards the disciple’s dwelling. He quickly arrived at the courtyard and

listened carefully. There was no sound. Looking around, he discovered there were no defensive formations. Clearly, after so many years of peace, the Demon Blade Sect no longer used defensive formations in the market.

Qin Luo then landed in the disciple’s courtyard and slowly floated to the door. He listened carefully to the sounds coming from inside and could clearly hear snoring.

Qin Luo let out a long breath, then reached for the door and felt a bolt. He used his spiritual energy to control the bolt and slowly opened it without making a sound. Qin Luo

didn’t doubt that the disciple’s house didn’t have any defensive formations. In fact, not only that disciple of the Demon Blade Sect, but even he himself, in his house at the Hell Gate, didn’t have any defensive formations. A defensive formation cost many spirit stones, and he didn’t have the spirit stones to buy one. This was the reality of life for a low-level disciple.

After opening the bolt, Qin Luo carefully pushed open the door and entered the room. Inside, he saw a small living room with an eight-immortal table and four benches; nothing else.

There was a door on each side of the living room. The snoring was coming from the left-hand door. Qin Luo slowly flew towards the left-hand room. Once there, he took out an incense stick, lit it, and then used a gentle breeze spell to send the smoke directly into the room. Soon, the snoring in that room became even louder.

Qin Luo extinguished the incense, opened the door, and went inside. He saw a wooden bed in the room, and a person was lying on it, fast asleep. This person was none other than the disciple of the Demon Blade Sect that Qin Luo had seen during the day.

Qin Luo walked over to the disciple of the Demon Blade Sect, picked up his arm, and examined it closely. He noticed a wound on the arm, but it wasn’t completely healed; it was simply closed up, as if something had been used to hold it in place. Qin Luo examined it closely and confirmed that the wound was indeed held in place, and there wasn’t a drop of blood. Qin Luo then observed the disciple; he noticed a heartbeat and breathing (otherwise, he wouldn’t be snoring). However, upon closer inspection, he realized the disciple was lifeless, completely devoid of vitality, and his skin was ice-cold, lacking any normal human temperature.

Qin Luo’s expression completely changed. He scrutinized the disciple for a moment, then left the disciple’s room and courtyard, his face still showing disbelief. He frowned, pondering the matter, convinced that something was amiss.

As he flew toward the inn, a sound suddenly came from behind him. Qin Luo’s expression changed, and he immediately hid himself in the shadows. Because it was dark, he almost blended into the shadows.

Soon, a group of Demon Blade Sect disciples walked past him on the street. It seemed they were on patrol. Qin Luo breathed a sigh of relief. Just as he was about to return to his inn, his eyes suddenly lit up. He glanced at the Demon Blade Sect disciples and murmured, “If everyone in the Demon Blade Sect has become like that, does that mean something has happened here that I don’t know about? And this change might not necessarily be a bad thing for us.”

Thinking this, Qin Luo immediately returned to the inn and went to his room. He rested for the night, and the next morning, he got up early and sat in his room, staring intently at the Demon Blade Hall. The Demon Blade Hall was constantly being observed by Demon Blade Sect disciples. Soon, all the disciples arrived for their shifts. Qin Luo stared intently at them, and he saw the disciple from the previous night… The disciple arrived at work as usual, without any apparent problem, and Qin Luo breathed a sigh of relief. He then kept an eye on the Demon Blade Hall until almost evening, when everyone there had left. Only then did Qin Luo leave the room. This time, he changed his target, following another disciple of the Demon Blade Sect. After finding out where the disciple lived, he observed him carefully for a while and discovered that the Demon Blade Sect disciple shared a relatively large courtyard with three other disciples. Qin Luo didn’t care. After finding out where the Demon Blade Sect disciple lived, he left immediately. That evening, he returned to the courtyard. This time, he lit an incense stick and used a gentle breeze technique to blow the smoke into the courtyard. He waited until the incense burned out before entering the courtyard.

The incense he used was a kind of sleeping incense. Once lit, anyone who smelled it would fall into a deep sleep and remain asleep for two hours. That’s why Qin Luo felt safe and bold enough to enter the courtyard of those Demon Blade Sect disciples. After entering the courtyard, he first found a room and went inside. He entered the Demon Blade Sect disciple’s bedroom, and sure enough, the disciple was already fast asleep. Qin Luo carefully examined the disciple, and just as he had thought, the disciple was breathing and had a heartbeat, but his body had no vitality or temperature, truly like a living dead person.

He then examined two more disciples of the Demon Blade Sect. Their condition was the same; their bodies were lifeless and cold. Upon seeing this, Qin Luo was certain that these Demon Blade Sect disciples had truly become living dead. This news was extremely important to them. These disciples still possessed memories, could speak, and retained their cultivation levels; only their bodies had mutated. It was unclear whether this mutation was voluntary or involuntary. Regardless, this matter had to be reported to the sect. If the Demon Blade Sect members had acted voluntarily, it meant they

possessed a method to turn themselves into living dead, and there must be some benefit to it. Whatever the benefit, it would be useful to the Hell Gate. If they had acted involuntarily, then it was necessary to find out who had turned them into living dead and how. Therefore, in any case, this matter had to be reported to the sect.

Qin Luo was somewhat excited. He knew that when the disciples of the Hell Gate were training outside, if they discovered anything unusual and reported it to the sect, the sect would investigate and confirm it was true, and the rewards would be very generous. Qin Luo felt that if he reported this matter to the sect, they would definitely give him a generous reward. Qin

Luo returned to the inn, too excited to sleep all night. The next morning, he originally wanted to leave, but remembering that he still had his longsword to retrieve, he stayed. He also wanted to observe the people of the Demon Blade Sect more closely and confirm this matter.

In the following days, Qin Luo continued to observe the disciples of the Demon Blade Sect. He discovered that the disciples of the Demon Blade Sect had indeed all become living dead. So, after retrieving his longsword and settling the final payment, he immediately left the Demon Blade Sect and took the teleportation array back to the Hell Gate.

The name “Hell’s Gate” sounds terrifying, and the continent they inhabit appears quite nice, with mountains and rivers. However, perhaps because their continent is far from the sun, the entire continent is filled with eerie winds, and the yin energy is heavier than on other continents. This is why disciples of Hell’s Gate cultivate yin-attribute techniques; in such an environment, cultivating yin-attribute techniques is twice as effective.

The continent of Hell’s Gate is quite large and appears more solid than ordinary continents. Many disciples of Hell’s Gate actually live underground, because the yin energy underground is heavier, which is more beneficial to their cultivation.

Qin Luo lives in a relatively remote place; after all, he is only a low-level disciple and cannot live in a very luxurious place. However, they do have an outer affairs hall here.
