1413. Chapter 1408: The Top Ten Opponents

As the host finished speaking, a virtual screen appeared out of thin air, displaying photos of all ten finalists, which then rapidly moved back and forth.

In the villa’s living room,

Josang, Michaela, and Ya Bao all looked at the television.

“Ya Bao, Ya Bao…”

Ya Bao clenched its paws, its expression a mixture of tension and anticipation, barking twice, insisting it had to be Lai and Se, it had to be Lai and Se…

Josang’s lips twitched slightly, but he didn’t say anything.

Judging by Ya Bao’s luck, since it wanted to face Lai and Se, it probably wouldn’t be in the next match.

“Gang Quan.”

Just then, Gang Bao’s voice suddenly appeared in his mind.

It felt the same way.

Sure enough, the matchups for the five groups of contestants were announced, and Josang quickly saw his team:

[Josang VS Feng Fu]

“At this point, the list of contestants advancing from the top ten to the top five is complete!” the host announced loudly. “Have you all seen the team assignments for your favorite contestants?!”

The entire audience erupted in cheers.

“Ya Ya?”

In front of the TV, Ya Bao stared at the photo next to its Beastmaster for a long time, then turned its head and asked with an expectant expression, indicating who its next opponent was.

“Xun Xun~”

Little Xun Bao put down its toothbrush and helped answer.

This human’s name is Feng Fu.

“Ya Ya…”

Ya Bao’s eyes instantly dimmed, and its tail drooped.

If it’s not Lai something or Se something, then it can’t fight to the end…

“Qing Qing…”

Qing Bao looked thoughtful beside it, indicating that the name sounded familiar.

“Xun Xun~”

Little Xun Bao waved its paws, indicating that everyone had been competing together for so long, how could it not be familiar?

“Ting Ting.”

Ting Bao suddenly called out, indicating that this human’s teacher had sent a pet to monitor them a while ago, and even made them change their training location.

Qiao Sang heard this, turned its head and glanced at Ting Bao, thinking to itself: Although I knew Ting Bao was intelligent before, I hadn’t paid much attention, but now I found that Ting Bao was not only intelligent, but also had a really good memory.

“Qingqing!”

Qingbao exclaimed with a look of sudden realization, indicating that it remembered the name.

“Xunxun!”

Little Xunbao also realized.

It was her!

It remembered that the other teacher’s pet was suspected to be a true fan of its own.

After saying that, it subconsciously started brushing its teeth again.

Michaela laughed, “I didn’t expect that in your first interstellar competition, you would have fought against students from the other three top universities.”

Although interstellar competitions generally involve students from the four top interstellar universities, it is still rare to encounter students from the other three top universities in the same competition. After all, participants in interstellar competitions are outstanding talents from all over the interstellar space, and unless it is an interstellar academy competition, it is not easy to meet them.

“I didn’t expect it either,” Qiao Sang said, “but everyone is quite strong, so it is normal to have a higher probability of encountering them later.”

Michaela said, “That’s because you have already dealt with the two from Yantian University. If you hadn’t won against them before, Feng Fu from Yuanzhou University might not have survived until now.”

Jo Sang wasn’t smug: “The fact that she’s made it this far speaks volumes about her strength.”

Michaela was unimpressed. She had watched Feng Fu’s matches, and in her opinion, both Xia Huo and Jerome, whom she had previously faced, were stronger than Feng Fu.

Luck played a large part in Feng Fu’s success; if Jo Sang had faced any of those opponents, Feng Fu wouldn’t have advanced to the top ten so easily.

However, she didn’t say this aloud.

Thinking an opponent was weak was one thing, but one should never have the mindset of winning casually. In past interstellar competitions, there had been many renowned professional Beastmasters who lost due to underestimating their opponents. Jo Sang did this very well; even against players clearly inferior to her, she thoroughly researched their information. As these thoughts

flashed through her mind, the live broadcast on TV showed the match times for each group of players.

With only ten players remaining, the match times were ample—one group in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening—and the competition would be completed in two days.

Jo Sang checked her own match time:

the day after tomorrow afternoon, the last group.

Michaela suddenly thought of something, glanced at Tingbao, and smiled,

“Tingbao’s evolution timing is quite good. Feng Fu happens to be one of the few remaining contestants who still possesses a General-level pet.”

In the Master Challenge, pets below the Royal-level are basically useless. Whether someone can win or not is usually known after the Royal-level pets have finished their matches. Although Feng Fu possesses a General-level pet, like Tingbao, it has never been used in a battle.

Upon hearing this, Tingbao was first stunned, then its eyes suddenly lit up.

It could finally compete!

But she remembered that the data for Feng Fu’s pet said it had already reached the late General-level stage. If it weren’t for finding S-level evolution materials, it probably would have evolved long ago. Tingbao had only recently evolved, and it probably wouldn’t fare well against this pet… Qiao Sang was about to speak when suddenly, Tingbao twisted its body, flew into the air, and with a serious expression, looked at its Beastmaster and called out,

“Tingting.”

It was going to train now.

Qiao Sang instantly swallowed back what she was about to say. Her first thought was: Tingbao really wanted to compete; it would never have chosen to train extra hours before.

Then came her second thought:

although Feng Fu’s general-level pet had reached the late general-level stage, this was indeed the only competition Tingbao might participate in next…

Thinking this, Qiao Sang gathered her thoughts, stood up, and said,

“I’ll go with you.”

“Tingting.”

Tingbao nodded vigorously.

…

Meanwhile.

River View Hotel.

The room with the best view.

Feng Fu glanced at the match list and time on the TV, then suddenly picked up her phone and opened an app.

“Knowing your next opponent, you still have the mood to play on your phone?” Li Chaoyuan sat on the sofa, giving her a dismissive glance.

“I’m checking if there are any starship tickets back to Tianyuan Star the day after tomorrow,” Feng Fu said while operating her phone.

Li Chaoyuan paused for a moment, then said, “Good for you. Don’t forget the school’s expectations of you.”

“I know,” Feng Fu said, checking the starship tickets. “I’ll try my best to get one or two points from Qiao Sang.”

“Cun Cun,”

Cun Zhupa exclaimed, indicating that if Qiao Sang had sent Xiao Xunbao first and fought to the end, Feng Fu might not have gotten a single point.

Feng Fu didn’t understand and continued checking. Li

Chaoyuan took a sip of tea and slowly said, “Don’t look at the day after tomorrow, look at ten days from now. Even if it’s the top ten, there will be encouragement awards and prize money.”

Feng Fu: “…Okay.”

PS: I had a dream this afternoon that I had a stockpile of drafts and could sleep peacefully, then I woke up. (End of Chapter)
