1297. Chapter 1292: Searching for the Hidden Grass (Two in One)

“Good morning,” Qiao Sang said calmly, then asked, “How was your search last night?”

With her current strength and experience, now that she understood what was going on, she wouldn’t be intimidated by a dozen or even a hundred Ghost-type pets looking over at her.

“Xunxun…”

Little Xunbao sighed and barked, indicating that he hadn’t found anything.

“Did you ask your Ghost-type pets for help?” Qiao Sang asked again.

“Xunxun…”

At this point, Little Xunbao sighed again and barked, indicating that he had looked, but those little creatures had been scared away by Jiubugu.

Qiao Sang was silent for two seconds, then glanced around and asked, “Where’s Jiubugu?”

“Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao barked, indicating that he was still out there looking.

That’s quite thoughtful… Qiao Sang got up and said as he headed to the bathroom, “I’ll go look outside with you today.”

He possessed clairvoyance and could also spot the Hidden Ghost Grass. As for finding a reliable ghost-type pet, besides the one Gangbao had left behind last night, he’d also posted related quests on the Beast Taming Center’s website, so there was no need to make another trip to the center.

“Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao nodded.

The next second, a ghost-type pet’s voice rang out:

“Nannan…”

Alas, if our own Beast Tamer goes along, it won’t be able to play…

Qiao Sang paused at the bathroom door and looked in the direction of the voice.

The ghost-type pet that spoke was about thirty centimeters tall, with a mouth on each side.

A Nannan Spirit, a low-level ghost-type pet that likes to speak out what everyone keeps secret… Qiao Sang’s mind flashed to the pet’s information.

Little Xunbao looked at Nannan Spirit in surprise.

“Nannan?”

Nannan Spirit’s right mouth opened and barked again.

Strange, why did it say the same thing I thought?

Qiao Sang: “…”

“Xunxun!”

Little Xunbao was stunned for a moment, then, realizing what was happening, his face changed drastically. He pounced forward and covered the Murmuring Spirit’s mouth.

“Xunxun!”

He then quickly called out to his beastmaster, confirming that what he had just said was definitely not his own.

Qiao Sang was silent for a moment, then said,

“This pet is called the Murmuring Spirit. It speaks out what everyone keeps hidden.”

Little Xunbao’s body suddenly froze.

“Murmur…”

At this moment, another Murmuring Spirit nearby cried out.

It’s over, it’s over…

“Xunxun!”

Little Xunbao’s face changed again. He used his Stand to cover the other Murmuring Spirit’s mouth.

The commotion in the room was so loud that Yabao and the others woke up one after another.

“Qingqing…”

Qingbao rubbed his eyes.

“Ya Ya!”

Seeing the many ghost-type pets in the room, Yabao instantly woke up, baring their teeth and showing a wary expression.

An invisible sense of oppression filled every corner of the room.

All the ghostly pets were simultaneously filled with fear. With the exception of the two mumbling spirits whose mouths were covered by Xunbao, the other ghostly pets huddled together, trembling.

“Yabao, these pets are here to help,” Qiao Sang said.

“Yabao…”

Yabao suppressed his aura.

In fact, by the time his beastmaster spoke, he had already realized that these little creatures meant no harm and were too weak to pose any threat.

“Qingqing?”

Qingbao looked at Xunbao and his double with curiosity, and called out, “What are you doing?

” “Xunxun…”

Xunbao called out with a wry smile, suggesting that this creature would speak its heart out.

Qingbao was stunned for a moment, then realized something. His eyes lit up, and he showed interest, calling out,

“Qingqing.” “

Don’t cover its mouth, let me hear what it has to say.

” “Xunxun…”

Xunbao ignored him, looking at his beastmaster and calling out, asking if he could seal the mumbling spirit’s mouth.

Before Qiao Sang could say anything, Qingbao called out,

“Qingqing.” “

Why seal it? Others have the freedom to speak.”

As he finished speaking, a Whispering Spirit by the window called out,

“Whims.” “

Why seal it? It’s better to speak out whatever’s on your mind. That’s what’s interesting. “

Qingbao was stunned, his face changing slightly.

“Whims?!”

the Whispering Spirit by the window called out again. “

That’s what I just thought?”

“Qingqing!”

Qingbao’s face changed drastically. Huafeng vanished, reappearing next to the Whispering Spirit by the window, covering its mouth and shouting, indicating that it also agreed to seal it.

Xiao Xunbao gave a look of “I’ll tell you what I said.”

The three Whispering Spirits blinked innocently. “

You finally understand the feeling of having your privacy exposed. I think she’s been there before…” Qiao Sang blocked out his thoughts and glanced discreetly towards Gangbao’s position.

He saw Gangbao staring at him.

Qiao Sang quickly averted his gaze, coughed, and said,

“First, loosen the left mouth of the Whispering Spirit.”

The Whispering Spirit has two mouths. The left mouth is used to speak its own language, and only the right mouth is used to speak everyone’s inner thoughts.

“Xunxun…”

“Qingqing…”

Little Xunbao and Qingbao glanced at each other, showing hesitation.

“Only the right mouth can speak everyone’s inner thoughts,” Qiao Sang explained.

“Xunxun…”

“Qingqing…”

Xiao Xunbao and Qingbao both breathed a sigh of relief and released the left mouth of the Murmuring Spirit.

“You can choose to leave or stay. If you stay, I might need to seal your right mouth,” Qiao Sang said.

Despite their gentle nature, Murmuring Spirits often speak their minds, earning them some shunning. Even with a Beastmaster Contract, when they’re taken outside, their right mouth is usually sealed.

There are even tools available specifically for sealing their mouths.

The three Murmuring Spirits exchanged bewilderment, quickly nodded, and cried out in unison.

Knowing they couldn’t control their mouths, they weren’t opposed to having their mouths sealed; after all, their left mouths could still be used for talking and eating.

“Xunxun~”

Xiao Xunbao quickly released his claws, removed the ring, and found some tape inside, applying it to the Murmuring Spirits’ mouths.

He then glanced around the room, seeing no sign of the fourth Murmuring Spirit, and replaced the tape in the ring.

After a quick wash and breakfast, Qiao Sang spoke to Teacher Mikaela. After arranging training for Lubao and the others, she took Xiao Xunbao and the ghost-type pets out in search.

She first went to a shop to buy a map of Zhangjia Kingdom and the city they were currently in. Then, riding the wind, she flew overhead, opened the map, and said,

“Let’s split up and search. We’re in Dunte City now. Start by searching the surrounding area, then slowly spread outward. Hidden Ghost Grass can’t be cultivated artificially. It usually grows in forests, streambanks, or in grassy hillsides with strong yin energy, so there’s no need to search in the city center…”

Qiao Sang assigned the search areas.

The ghost-type pets around listened attentively, nodding occasionally.

After about five minutes, Qiao Sang finally finished her explanation and said,

“That’s about it. Okay, everyone, search separately. If you find it, bring it back directly. As a reward, I’ll agree to any terms you offer.”

The ghost-type pets immediately beamed with joy, chirping one after another.

“Gang Quan,”

Gangbao suddenly called out nearby, signaling that they were getting lost.

That’s right, these ghost pets were left behind by Gangbao because they got lost… Qiao Sang looked at Xiao Xunbao and said,

“Take out a pen.”

“Xunxun~”

Xiao Xunbao took out a ring and took out a pen from it.

Qiao Sang took the pen and wrote her number on each of the ghost pets.

After she’d finished writing down all the names, she put away her pen and added, “If you find the Hidden Ghost Grass but can’t find our hotel, call me at this number.”

The ghost pets chirped and scattered.

“Xunxun?”

Little Xunbao chirped, asking, “Why don’t we all just search together?

” “Let’s split up,” Qiao Sang said. “That’ll be more efficient.”

“Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao chirped cheerfully, then realized it was being too happy and quickly restrained its expression. A hint of reluctance appeared, and it chirped,

“Xunxun~”

Then I’ll be leaving.

With that, it turned and floated off in the direction its beastmaster had previously assigned it.

“Wait,” Qiao Sang called.

“Xunxun?” Little Xunbao paused and turned to look at her.

“Let Gangbao go with you,” Qiao Sang said.

She hadn’t forgotten what Nan Nan Ling had said that morning: if little Xunbao went out searching alone, he’d be tempted to play. While he could find it, he’d waste a lot of time.

“Xunxun…”

Little Xunbao stiffened, trying to refuse.

But the fourth brother couldn’t see the hidden grass…

Before Qiao Sang could reply, Gangbao called out,

“Gangquan.” “

Boss, let me accompany you.

” “Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao was stunned for a moment, then couldn’t help but raise the corner of his mouth and call out, indicating that it was okay.

With that, he hummed “Xunxun, Xunxun” as he flew in the direction his beastmaster had directed him.

“Don’t let him play,” Qiao Sang said in her mind.

“Gangquan,” Gangbao called out in her mind, understanding, and then flapped his wings to catch up with little Xunbao.

Qiao Sang turned and flew in the opposite direction.

“Ya Ya,”

Yabao called out as he followed, indicating that it would be faster if he didn’t sit on it. “

No need,” Qiao Sang said with a smile. “I can speed it up.”

As he spoke, his heart moved slightly, connecting with the connection with the wind.

The next moment, the wind surged, and her speed suddenly increased.

“Ya Ya!”

Ya Bao’s eyes lit up, and she quickened her pace, following.

…

Somewhere on a hill, amidst clumps of tender green grass.

“Xun Xun~Xun Xun~” Little Xun Bao hummed as she searched through the grass.

Suddenly, a red insect-type pet emerged from the ground and met Little Xun Bao’s eyes.

Little Xun Bao stopped singing, looked at it, and smiled, greeting it:

“Xun Xun~”

“Re Re!”

The red insect-type pet screamed, as if witnessing something terrifying, and scurried away.

“Xun Xun?”

Little Xun Bao was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at Gang Bao and called out.

Is it scary?

“Gang Quan…”

Gang Bao looked at it, his face grim.

You’re covered in black energy.

“Xun Xun…”

Little Xun Bao was stunned for a moment, then took off the ring and pulled out a mirror from inside to look at himself.

As expected, he saw that his entire body was radiating black energy.

“Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao, struck by something, placed the mirror back into the ring and called out nonchalantly, saying it was nothing, just a little overflow of curse power. It would be fine in a moment.

“Gangquan,”

Gangbao called out, saying, “If you can’t control the urge to curse, we’ll go back.

” “Xun…”

Little Xunbao called out, his expression reassuring, but he paused mid-sentence, frowning.

Meanwhile, the black energy surrounding him spread a little further.

A few seconds later, Little Xunbao raised his head, pouting, and called out,

“Xunxun…”

Old Four, how about you curse me first? It seems I can’t help myself anymore…

Gangbao: “…”

“Gangquan,”

Gangbao called out in his mind.

Two seconds later, he and Little Xunbao vanished from the spot they had been.

…

by the stream.

Qiao Sang formed hand seals, and two mysterious, deep purple star arrays illuminated simultaneously.

Soon, Little Xunbao and Gangbao appeared in their respective star arrays.

“Xunxun…”

Little Xunbao, seeing his own Beastmaster before him, suddenly realized something and looked at Gangbao beside him.

“Gangquan,”

Gangbao called out calmly, indicating that the Boss’s curse power seemed to be getting out of control.

Hearing the word “Boss,” Little Xunbao felt a surge of relief, sighing and calling out,

“Xunxun…”

It truly felt like it was losing control and wanted to curse someone.

Qiao Sang observed the increasingly dense black aura surrounding Little Xunbao, pondered for a moment, and said,

“Yabao, accompany Little Xunbao on the search.”

There was only a month left, and a day had already passed. The search for the Hidden Ghost Grass could not be stopped.

After absorbing the Curse Crystal, a ghost-type pet would lose control for a period of time. Forcing control without releasing the curse power would be detrimental to its health. At such times, it was best to unleash the curse power.

Yabao was the perfect choice.

“Yaya?”

Yabao was stunned for a moment before calling out.

It?

To be honest, it didn’t really want to follow; it wanted to stay by its Beastmaster’s side.

“Right,” Qiao Sang nodded. “Xunbao, in this situation, it’s best to have a target for your curse. If it curses you, the sacred fire within you will purify it directly. You’re not afraid at all.”

“Ya Ya,”

Ya Bao said with an “all right,” looking at Xunbao and barking, indicating that he’ll accompany you to find that grass.

“Xunxun…”

Xunbao looked at Ya Bao, then at Gang Bao, and barked, indicating that he could still hold back a little longer.

Honestly, he preferred having Lao Si accompany him. If Ya Bao were with him, he wouldn’t be able to play at all…

“Ya Ya?”

Ya Bao frowned and barked.

You don’t want me to accompany you?

“Xunxun!”

Xunbao quickly shook his head.

“No, no! “

“Ya Ya!”

Ya Bao barked. “

Then let’s go.

” “Xunxun…”

Xunbao knew the matter was settled, and stopped struggling. His eyes glowed blue, and he disappeared with Ya Bao.

With Ya Bao watching, Xunbao probably wouldn’t be lazy… Qiao Sang thought.

Just as he was thinking, his phone vibrated. (End of this chapter)
