1247. Chapter 1242: First Meeting with Guilun Saier (Two in One)

Gathering intelligence on your opponents is crucial in any competition.

The Interstellar Elite Schools Beast Taming Competition is one of the most prestigious interstellar campus events. The results can directly impact the next year’s admissions and even serve as a reference for the ranking of top interstellar universities.

Therefore, every school sends a Guilun Sai’er to accompany the team leader to assist in gathering intelligence on the contestants from other prestigious interstellar schools.

When it comes to gathering intelligence, the Guilun Sai’er has never been outperformed by the mechanical pets of other schools.

“Of course I brought it here,” Aiden said with a smile. “It should be browsing the internet right now.”

He then asked curiously, “What are you trying to find out?”

Although the Guilun Sai’er is an Emperor-level pet, its combat power is far inferior to pets of the same level. In the eyes of beastmasters of their caliber, its primary purpose is to gather intelligence.

“I want it to help me see if there are any Sun Crystals in Yantian University’s resource inventory,” said Mikaela.

Sun Crystals? Guilun Sai’er? Qiao Sang’s heartbeat quickened and her eyes lit up when she heard the key words. She casually answered the questions of those around her, her ears perked up, listening for the sounds from the other end.

No wonder Teacher Mikaela said there was a way to find out about Yantian University’s resources; it turned out Guilunsaier had come too!

She had no doubt about Guilunsaier’s intelligence-gathering abilities.

“Sun Crystal?” Aiden pondered for a moment, then inquired, “Are you talking about the crystals left after the fireball landed?”

Mikaela hummed.

Aiden didn’t ask any more questions, but pulled out his phone and began to operate it.

Aislinn, noticing Qiao Sang’s attention fixed on Teachers Mikaela and Aiden, raised an eyebrow and asked, “Do you need a Sun Crystal?”

As an A-rank professional beastmaster, multitasking was easy. Even if she wasn’t paying close attention, she could easily hear and retain everything going on.

The other five people were similarly impressed.

“Yes,” Qiao Sang nodded slightly, not hiding anything. “This is the evolution material for Fentiduo.”

She was afraid to tell Yabao that no one would know.

“Ya Ya!”

Ya Bao called out from the side, confirming that it was indeed its evolution material.

Aiden looked up and then sped up his phone.

Everyone’s eyes were fixed on Ya Bao, their gazes filled with scrutiny, curiosity, and amazement.

The man with the slicked-back hair pulled out a pet identifier and pointed it at Ya Bao.

Soon, a mechanical voice rang out:

“Fen Di Duo, an Imperial-level pet with both fire and psychic attributes, possessing formidable attack power. Because only one pet has been stored, its specific information is unknown.”

“Only one?” The man with the slicked-back hair looked stunned.

Then, a voice several times louder than his own exclaimed in astonishment:

“Imperial-level?!”

It was Aislin who spoke.

Not only her, but everyone around them shared expressions of shock and astonishment.

They had seen Imperial-level pets before. Some of them were A-level Beastmasters, having personally bred Imperial-level pets, while others were working diligently to raise their own pets to the Imperial level.

They knew firsthand how difficult it was to raise an Imperial-level pet; it wasn’t something that could be solved with resources alone.

But now, to tell them that the Imperial Class student before them was not only a 17-year-old B-rank Beast Tamer, but had also successfully bred an Imperial-rank pet?

Could this really be true?

Before Qiao Sang could speak, Mikaela said in a tone that was almost as nonchalant as a breeze: “There’s only one pet in the database because this Burning Emperor is Qiao Sang’s first pet, and there’s no second one yet.”

Everyone’s eyes widened.

Mikaela continued, “Steel Chief Kane next to them was also Qiao Sang’s first pet, and there’s no second one yet.”

The expressions of the people present changed again, their pupils shrinking as if they were deeply shocked. Some even looked vacant, as if their CPUs had burned out.

Beast Taming society had existed for so long, and pet research was already well established. It was difficult for future generations to make new discoveries in pet research.

Currently, discovering a completely new possibility regarding pet forms and new evolutionary pathways takes a long time.

Those who discovered new pet forms and evolutionary pathways were generally trained by trainers and researchers deeply involved in the field. There were professional beastmasters, but their number was extremely limited, the kind whose appearance would be chronicled in later generations.

If that were all, they, at a behemoth like the Imperial Beastmaster Academy, had faced countless textbook figures and were themselves knowledgeable individuals, so naturally, they wouldn’t have trouble managing their expressions.

However, the beastmaster who had bred this new form was a mere 17-year-old, a B-rank beastmaster who had contracted a legendary pet! And

this new pet was an Imperial-rank pet!

Breeding a low-level new pet form is completely different from breeding an Imperial-rank pet.

Even with all the necessary evolutionary conditions, breeding an Imperial-rank pet is incredibly difficult, let alone a completely new form.

All of this, combined in one person, was beyond comprehension.

Suddenly, as if their brains were starting to work again, everyone looked around, trying to identify the Steel Chieftain Cain that Teacher Michaela had mentioned.

“Steel Chieftain.”

Seeing everyone’s movements, Steel Treasure understood what they were doing and called out, identifying himself as Steel Chieftain Cain.

The man with the slicked-back hair was the first to react, aiming his pet identifier at him.

Soon, a mechanical voice chimed in: “Steel Chieftain Cain, a dual-attribute King-level pet with both Flying and Steel attributes. Extremely strong defense. Currently, it’s the only pet on Super Star to have evolved through its entire chain of bound evolution to the King stage. Because only one pet has been stored, the rest of its details are unknown.”

Everyone’s eyes instantly focused on Steel Treasure, their expressions once again filled with shock.

Mikaela watched the others’ expressions from the side, feeling elated. A surge of pride welled up within her, but she also thought, “That’s right. It’s not that she can’t handle it, but that no one can.”

Suddenly, Aiden announced, “Guilunsael is back.”

As soon as he finished speaking, ripples appeared on the living room television, and a complex, black iron-colored claw emerged from it.

Then, a black, spherical mechanical head appeared, its face covered in a handsome mechanical mask, revealing a pair of calm yellow eyes.

Soon, Guilunsaier’s entire body emerged from the television screen.

“Guigui,”

Guilunsaier called out to Mikaela, then nodded to Qiao Sang as a greeting.

As an imperial-level pet whose primary function was to gather intelligence, it possessed all the secrets of the Imperial Beastmaster Academy’s faculty and students, and naturally could recognize everyone on campus.

Even pets belonging to teachers and students could be identified with a single glance.

Guilunsaier! Qiao Sang’s eyes lit up as she watched the pet emerge from the television.

She still remembered the shock Guilunsaier had given her when she received the Imperial Beastmaster Academy’s acceptance letter.

“Xunxun!”

Little Xunbao recognized the pet by its claws, his eyes suddenly lighting up. He floated over and cried out happily, “Finally, I see you. Do you remember me? I gave you some sunflower seeds.”

As he spoke, he raised his paw and made two “clicks” with his mouth, imitating the action of cracking sunflower seeds.

“Guigui?”

Guilunsaier called out with a puzzled expression.

Qiao Sang remembered something and reminded him, “There are two Guilun Sai’er in school. The one you gave me the melon seeds last time might not be this one.”

“Xunxun…”

Little Xunbao looked disappointed, but quickly cheered up, took off the ring, fished out a handful of melon seeds, and handed them over.

“Guigui.”

Guilun Sai’er stared at the melon seeds for a moment, then waved his paw, indicating that he didn’t want to eat.

Seeing this, Aiden smiled and explained,

“Mechanical pets basically don’t need to eat. They just need to charge or bask in the sun.”

“Xunxun…”

Little Xunbao looked at him with regret and cried out. “

You’re so unlucky! “

As he spoke, he began to eat some melon seeds.

“Teacher Mikaela wants you to go to Yantian University and help find any information about the Sun Crystal.” Aiden explained why he had called Guilun Sai’er back.

Is this the treatment of students in the Imperial Class? To find a prop, they actually asked the Imperial-level pet Guilun Sai’er to sneak into Yantian University to help… Everyone recovered from their previous shock and looked at the scene before them, but they felt no jealousy at all.

If they were students of similar age, newly enrolled in the Imperial Class, yet to make a name for themselves in international or interstellar competitions, they might have felt a bit unconvinced, thinking, “It’s just a few years apart; with the same resources, they could do it too.”

But the person before them was Qiao Sang, a 17-year-old who had not only contracted a legendary pet but also cultivated two new forms, one of which was even an Imperial-level pet, and was a B-rank professional beastmaster.

All these auras combined made it impossible for them to feel the slightest bit of comparison.

As everyone’s thoughts raced, Mikaela said, “Trouble.”

“Gui Gui,” Gui Lun Sai’er called out.

As it finished speaking, a row of virtual subtitles appeared before it:

[There are no Sun Crystals in the Yantian University resource library.]

Qiao Sang was stunned for a moment and quickly asked, “How did you know?”

“Gui Gui,”

Gui Lun Sai’er called out.

At the same time, a virtual subtitle appeared: [Because on my way here, I stopped by Yantian University’s online network.]

Qiao Sang was deeply disappointed when he saw this line of text.

If even Yantian University didn’t have Sun Crystals, then only…

Just as she was thinking this, Aislin said, “I remember Yantian Star will be holding the Master’s Challenge Cup this year, and the champion prize for the Master’s Challenge Cup has always been a Sun Crystal…”

She paused, giving Qiao Sang a chance to ask a question.

As an A-rank professional beastmaster, she was perfectly qualified to participate in this competition.

Regardless of whether she could win the championship or not, by participating in the competition under the guise of helping to obtain Sun Crystals, she could give this Imperial Class prodigy a piece of her mind.

Just as Aislin was trying to figure out how to smoothly convey her willingness to participate in this competition to help secure the prize, Qiao Sang sighed,

“I know. If I really can’t find Sun Crystals, I’m going to participate in the Master’s Challenge Cup.”

Aislin: “???”

Everyone looked at her in confusion.

“Isn’t this a competition for A-rank professional beastmasters?” Aiden asked, stunned.

“She means she’ll sign up after becoming an A-rank beastmaster,” Mikaela explained.

“Yes,” Qiao Sang nodded.

For some reason, everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief.

But it takes a long time for a B-rank Beastmaster to become an A-rank Beastmaster, and even becoming an A-rank Beastmaster doesn’t guarantee victory in the Master Challenge Cup… Aislin hesitated.

“Are you planning on staying on Flame Sky Star for a long time?” Aiden asked.

Mikaela hummed, “There are some things I need to do,”

she said without further explanation.

Aiden tactfully avoided further questions and changed the subject: “When the Interstellar Elite Schools Tournament takes place the day after tomorrow, you must attend.”

“I will,” Mikaela said.

Qiao Sang remained silent. After learning that Flame Sky University didn’t have Sun Crystals, her interest in going there had waned again.

…

Ten-thirty in the evening.

Suite 6707.

Qiao Sang sat cross-legged on the sofa, a notebook on her lap, checking the Imperial Beastmaster Academy’s points redemption column.

Currently, Gangbao and Xiaoxunbao needed potions and items that quickly accumulated energy without side effects. The Imperial Beastmaster Academy had a batch of these items on the points redemption column a while ago, but they had already been redeemed and used up. New items and potions should have appeared by now.

“Xunxun~”

As he was checking, Little Xunbao floated over, staring at the computer and chirping, suggesting he check out Yantian University for quick energy boosts.

Qiao Sang chuckled, “Of course there are, but Yantian University is a top-ranked institution after all. How could they possibly leak out?”

“Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao chirped.

But Michaela had previously said he could get Sun Crystals from Yantian University.

“That would come at a price,” Qiao Sang said. “And we only thought of Yantian University because we had no other choice. We don’t need Yantian University for energy boosts and potions; the Imperial Beastmaster Academy already has them.”

He pointed to an energy boost on the screen.

“Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao glanced at it, waving his paw and chirping.

However, there were limits on how many items could be redeemed, and the energy boost didn’t seem to be very significant.

After that, he leaned over and chirped softly, “Xunxun~”

He knew Yantian University had an item that could directly increase the level of a King-level pet by a small step.

Qiao Sang was stunned for a moment: “How did you know?”

“Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao took out his phone, opened a dialog box, and called out.

My fans told me. (End of this chapter)
