1243. Chapter 1238 Confession (Two in One)

There was no need to compete with the people from Yantian University. If they only knew Qiao Sang’s age, his level as a Beastmaster, and the color of the star array, they would know how arrogant they were.

Mikaela, reflecting on the scenario two weeks from now, cheerfully took a sip from the drink on the coffee table.

Jacqueline was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, “With Qiao Sang around, that arrogant guy will definitely question his life.”

She added,

“Even if you don’t go, I believe the students participating in the Interstellar Elite Beastmaster Competition can win.”

Although Yantian University was ranked first in the interstellar world, that was based on a comprehensive ranking based on various data. In certain areas, the Imperial Beastmaster Academy was actually more powerful than Yantian University.

Although Yantian University’s Beastmaster Academy was recognized as the top-ranked interstellar school, it wasn’t uncommon for students from the Imperial Beastmaster Academy to defeat their counterparts, but the number of times was extremely rare.

Jacqueline spoke from the perspective of a teacher at the Imperial Beastmaster Academy.

Mikaela nodded slightly, “Of course I believe in the strength of our students.”

While she said that, she also understood that others were proud of their strength.

Yantian University’s Beastmaster Academy consistently holds the top spot, having produced numerous prominent figures who have competed in the Interstellar Cup. While it might not excel in mechanics or specific research areas, everyone knows Yantian University’s undisputed supremacy in beastmastering.

Naturally, she wouldn’t go out of her way to provoke a junior. However, many of the Imperial Beastmaster Academy’s students, after competing in the Interstellar Elite Beastmaster Competition and encountering Yantian University students, have lost some of their confidence. Qiao Sang’s presence might boost their confidence.

Most importantly, it would be an opportunity for open communication with Yantian University’s Beastmaster Academy, potentially introducing some of the Yan Class’s members.

These members of the Yan Class are the true rivals Qiao Sang needs to surpass in the future.

Qiao Sang is still young, and shouldn’t be exposed to complex matters. Her most important task right now is to improve her skills and diligently study beastmastering. Explaining this to her would only make her overthink things.

So, she didn’t say it directly.

…

That evening, Qiao Sang returned empty-handed.

She returned to her room, sat at her desk, and began to ponder her next steps.

The chances of finding a genuine Sun Crystal were slim, so I couldn’t place my hopes on the wind. The only legitimate way I knew to obtain one was through the Master Challenge Cup.

My brain had already reached the level of an A-rank Beastmaster. If any of Lubao and the others evolved to the Royal rank, I could take the exam to become a full-fledged A-rank Professional Beastmaster and qualify for the Master Challenge Cup.

Compared to established A-rank Professional Beastmasters, my chances of becoming the champion were slim, but this was the only way I knew to obtain Sun Crystals, and it was better to try than not.

Lubao had already accumulated a considerable amount of points and a cache of Ice Crystals and Ice Souls, making her the fastest among the Little Treasure Hunters to reach the King rank cap.

However, Lubao’s next evolutionary path required absolute solitude in an oasis environment to trigger evolution.

While this condition might not sound as extreme as the previous ones, achieving it was still a challenge.

The oasis itself was a relaxing environment for both humans and pets. Lubao had already experienced all sorts of extreme emotions, so experiencing another extreme was difficult.

She couldn’t imagine the circumstances under which Lubao felt so completely alone.

She used to jump into her backpack and follow her when she went out, but now she didn’t, running off to train.

Sometimes, she even thought, Lubao might actually enjoy being alone at certain times.

Little Xunbao needed a lot of energy to reach the Emperor level.

He had already collected all the necessary evolutionary items, but unlike Lubao, Little Xunbao had a vast supply of resources to absorb, allowing him to quickly increase his energy.

Little Xunbao also didn’t enjoy prolonged battles, so it would likely take quite a while for him to reach the King level.

Speaking of which, Gangbao might be the fastest to evolve to the Emperor level…

Qiao Sang’s mind flickered, and the more she thought about it, the more likely it seemed.

Gangbao’s next evolutionary path was also bond evolution, which would require only the strength of their bond to increase.

A few days ago, Gangbao overheard her thinking about the Gold Finger, something he hadn’t sensed before, suggesting that their bond was growing stronger.

Who knows, one day, through the power of their bond, Steel will be the first to evolve to the Imperial level!

No evolution items needed, no accumulated energy needed, just the deep bond between them!

“Steel Chieftain.”

Just as Qiao Sang was imagining a bright future, Steel’s voice echoed in his mind.

Even if its bond evolved, it could only maintain its Imperial form for a short while. It wouldn’t help you pass the A-rank Professional Beast Tamer exam, nor could it help you win the Master Challenge Cup.

Qiao Sang: “…”

“Can’t you let me think about it for a while?” Qiao Sang said in his mind.

“Steel Chieftain,” Steel called out in his mind. “

Then think about it.

” Qiao Sang stopped his previous fantasy.

Actually, Lu Bao, Little Xun Bao, and Steel Bao could all potentially evolve to the Imperial level first.

He could have Lu Bao absorb those ice-type materials faster, accumulating energy to the King level cap as soon as possible.

Little Xun Bao, like Steel Bao, would focus on accumulating energy.

However, they didn’t have the materials to quickly increase their energy. He could buy some fast-absorbing materials and have them fight more often to accumulate points.

In a pure duel, Little Xunbao probably wouldn’t accumulate points as quickly as Steel Treasure. After all, without someone watching over him, he’d definitely slack off.

“Steel Chief?”

Just as he was thinking, Steel Treasure’s voice echoed in his mind again.

Accumulating what?

“Points,” Qiao Sang said in his mind. “Didn’t you hear me just now?”

“Steel Chief,”

Steel Treasure responded in his mind.

“No, it seems like something is blocking your words. Can you control your thoughts a little so I can’t hear them?

” Huh? Steel Treasure didn’t hear? Qiao Sang was a little confused, then seemed to understand something, and his mind started working.

No, it answered its own question, which means it can still hear its own thoughts. What it can’t hear is the word “points.”

Steel could hear the Goldfinger, but not the points.

Did this mean that the bond between her and Steel had grown, but not yet strong enough for it to sense everything about the Goldfinger?

What if she took the initiative to tell Steel all this?

Qiao Sang’s heart stirred.

It seemed that as the bond grew, her and Steel were losing more and more privacy.

Bonds meant trust. If she confessed her deepest secrets, wouldn’t the bond between them grow stronger?

When the contract had just been signed, she felt she might not be able to be honest because she was too hesitant.

To put it bluntly, it was a lack of trust.

But now, she felt she could.

As the thought flashed through her mind, Steel flew in from the door and called out calmly,

“Steel Chief?”

What are you trying to tell me?

Despite its calm expression, Qiao Sang, having spent so much time with Steel and their bond, knew that it was actually very happy.

It was happy that she was sharing a secret with it.

Qiao Sang’s expression shifted slightly.

“Steel Chief.”

Steel closed the door and called out, reassuring himself that Mikaela, Pengamei, and the Dragon King were not home. “

Steel is the one who knows me best…” Qiao Sang said solemnly,

“I want to tell you a secret about myself.”

“Steel Chief.”

Steel’s heartbeat quickened, and he nodded seriously.

He could sense that this secret was very important to his own Beastmaster.

He felt strangely excited and touched.

“Actually, I traveled through time…” Qiao Sang took a deep breath and recounted in detail how he had traveled through time, awakened the Beast Taming Code, discovered that after contracting Yabao and the others, the relevant data in the Beast Taming Code had appeared, and anything else he could add.

After she finished, she felt a sense of relief.

Gangbao listened silently, his excitement fading. He remained silent for a long moment, then looked at his beastmaster and called out,

“Steel Chief?”

What does it mean to travel back?

“It means coming from another world,” Qiao Sang replied.

Gangbao was silent again for a long moment, then called out,

“Steel Chief?”

Will you travel back again?

His eyes were filled with sadness and fear.

It was a rare emotion Gangbao showed.

Qiao Sang was stunned for a moment, then said gently, “Don’t worry, we will always be together.”

Gangbao looked at his beastmaster, and something surged within him.

But more than anything, it was fear.

He was afraid his beastmaster would suddenly return to the world she’d mentioned.

The atmosphere in the room suddenly became solemn.

Seeing Gangbao’s mood was off, Qiao Sang joked to lighten the mood, “I’ve told you such a big secret, why haven’t you Bond Evolved yet?”

Gangbao: “…”

“Steel Chief.”

Gangbao’s expression returned to normal.

It wasn’t like he could evolve whenever he wanted.

Qiao Sang feigned disappointment and said, “That’s such a shame! I originally thought that after revealing this secret, you would be able to directly bond evolve.”

Gang Bao fell silent, just quietly looking at his beastmaster.

After about three seconds, Qiao Sang couldn’t help but ask, “Why are you silent?”

“Steel Chief?”

Gang Bao called out.

Didn’t you just lose the ability to sense its inner thoughts?

Qiao Sang was stunned for a moment, then asked in surprise,

“You were talking in your mind?”

“Steel Chief.” Gang Bao nodded and called out.

It did, but it just tried to block it out.

Qiao Sang’s eyes lit up slightly. Has this day finally arrived?

“Steel Chief.” Gang Bao called out with a speechless expression.

You haven’t blocked your inner thoughts yet.

“It’s okay if you heard this.” Qiao Sang smiled, “Haven’t you been waiting for this day?”

Gang Bao remained silent, acquiescing.

It seemed the bond between her and Steel had indeed increased. However, while Steel could block out its own thoughts, she might not be able to. She’d have to experiment… While attempting to block out thoughts, Qiao Sang mentally said, “

Steel is the softest, Steel is the strongest.”

Steel didn’t react.

Qiao Sang continued, “Steel is the smartest.”

Steel didn’t react.

Qiao Sang continued, “Steel, don’t worry, we’ll always be together.”

Steel didn’t react.

Qiao Sang smiled and said, “Looks like I can block out thoughts, too. Not bad! Our bond has grown considerably.”

“Steel Chief,”

Steel barked, showing no joy. “

Then I’ll go back to training.

” “Okay,” Qiao Sang nodded.

Steel flapped its wings and turned to leave.

But just as its wings touched the doorknob, its beastmaster’s thoughts echoed in its mind:

“Ah, it seems Steel is still worried about traveling back in time.”

Steel stiffened, stopped moving, and turned, looking at its beastmaster with a complicated expression. It called out,

“Steel Chief?”

Wasn’t it possible to block out thoughts? Why didn’t you block out that thought?

Qiao Sang smiled and said, “Being able to block out thoughts simply means our bond has strengthened. I didn’t say that being able to block out thoughts means you’ll definitely block out your own.”

After a pause, she added, “Actually, sometimes I quite like the feeling of our thoughts being known to each other.”

Gang Bao was stunned for a moment, a faint glint in his eyes.

The next second, Gang Bao’s voice echoed in his mind:

“Steel Chief.”

He sometimes also likes the feeling of having his thoughts known to each other.

Gang Bao… Qiao Sang was deeply moved.

Gang Bao looked over, his eyes flickering slightly.

Their eyes met.

Suddenly, a rich white light emanated from Gang Bao.

This, this… Qiao Sang’s pupils constricted, her heartbeat soaring.

But before she could form more thoughts, the white light vanished.

Gang Bao was still Gang Bao, and the white light from before seemed like an illusion.

Qiao Sang was stunned. After a few seconds, he hesitantly asked,

“Did you just see a white light?”

Gang Bao hesitated, then called out,

“Steel Chief.”

It seemed to have appeared.

“Is it the Light of Evolution?” Qiao Sang asked.

“Steel Chief.”

Gang Bao shook his head, unsure.

Qiao Sang took a deep breath, decisively pulled out his phone, and dialed Teacher Mikala’s number.

After two beeps, the call connected.

As soon as the call connected, Qiao Sang exclaimed, “Teacher! Come quickly! It’s urgent!”

It was the first time Mikala had received such an urgent call from Qiao Sang. Her heart sank, and she asked,

“Where are you?”

“Home,” Qiao Sang said.

“Wait for me,” Mikala said, and hung up.

Then, Qiao Sang sensed movement and presence in the living room.

She quickly grabbed Gang Bao, opened the door, and rushed to the living room.

“What happened?” Mikala asked gravely.

“Just now, a white light appeared on Gangbao’s body!” Qiao Sang said quickly: “It feels like the white light that only occurs when one evolves!”

Mikaela: “???” (End of this chapter)
