1137. Chapter 1132 A Hundred Years Ago (Two in One)

Qiao Sang turned to look.

The man speaking was wearing a headset and a loudspeaker at his waist. Surrounded by a group of tourists, he looked like a tour guide.

Qiao Sang pricked up his ears.

The man continued,

“A hundred years ago, a fireball struck, severely damaging the land. This was followed by a global drought, the scale of which was unprecedented in nearly ten thousand years. The Meteorological Administration, the Underwater Administration, and the Water Beast Association successively dispatched water pets to bring rain across the country. For the next eleven years, water pets were the sole culprit.”

“Without natural rainfall, the rivers gradually dried up, and the water pets gradually lost their strength. While some insect-type pets increased in number, the number of grass-type pets dwindled. The water pets, originally providing rain nationwide, later began providing rain based on the importance of each city.”

“Gaozhou wasn’t within the range of a major city at the time, so for a long time, no water pets came to bring rain. Most of our beastmasters with water pets were dispatched to other cities to provide support. The remaining water pets could only occasionally provide for everyone’s daily drinking water needs, but they couldn’t solve the fundamental problem.”

“Later, the area became barren, the water pets dwindled, and both people and pets grew increasingly thin and irritable. But then, one day, the mythical beast, Shallala, appeared!”

The man’s tone grew heavier, his voice slightly more agitated.

“It made everything grow, bringing back a green oasis! Disappeared grass-type pets are even reappearing one after another!”

“That same day, heavy rains fell, ending a severe drought that had lasted eleven years. It was during that period that this area became a valley filled with flowers and plants, later renamed the Valley of Flowers.”

After hearing this, a tourist couldn’t help but ask,

“What happened next? Where did Shalala go?”

The man shook his head. “Shalala disappeared, and no one knows where she went.”

She’s here… Qiao Sang couldn’t help but glance at the “Fresh Cattail” floating in the wind not far away.

Something didn’t seem right. This Shalala wasn’t very old, and the Shalala the tour guide had mentioned was from a hundred years ago. The age didn’t match… As

the thought flashed through his mind, the tour guide, who had just spoken, walked away with the group of tourists.

Michaela approached, looking at the “Fresh Cattail” happily floating in the air, and said,

“You heard everything.”

Ah, what did you hear? Qiao Sang was stunned for a moment and hesitated:

“Are you talking about what the tour guide just introduced?”

Mikaela said “hmm”, her tone full of memories: “I was on Yantian Star at that time and witnessed the oasis reappearing on the dry land. It was really shocking. I think I will never forget that scene in my life.”

After a pause, she said regretfully:

“It’s a pity that I didn’t see Xia Lala with my own eyes at that time.”

Teacher Mikaela licked Xia Lala so much, could this be the reason… Qiao Sang gathered his thoughts and smiled:

“Now you see it with your own eyes.”

“Yes.” Mikaela sighed: “I didn’t expect that I would have such an opportunity.”

Qiao Sang said with a smile: “But this Xia Lala should not be the same one you saw at the beginning.”

Mikaela glanced at her and said:

“Who said it’s not the same one.”

Qiao Sang was stunned for a moment and didn’t react: “The drought was a hundred years ago, and the age of this Xia Lala is obviously not right.”

Mikaela was silent for a few seconds and sighed:

“Although I didn’t see Shalala myself, I have plenty of information. At that time, besides the severe drought, most grass-type pets were practically on the verge of extinction. After Shalala appeared, not only did the vegetation regrow, but the grass-type pets were also saved one after another. A senior from the Beast Tamer Alliance mentioned to me during a chat that Shalala had since reverted to egg form.”

“It takes a century for a mythical beast to re-emerge from its egg form. Calculating the date, it’s roughly around now.”

So, the Shalala of the past was the Shalala before me… Qiao Sang took a deep breath, silently digesting the news.

She couldn’t help but glance again at the wind-blown “Fresh Cattail” not far away, feeling both shocked and inexplicably sad.

For a moment, it was hard to connect this shy Shalala before her, who claimed to be very young, unable to remember exactly how old she was, and who couldn’t even learn another species’ language, with the Shalala the tour guide and teacher Mikala had described as having brought life back to life a century ago.

After a few seconds of silence, Qiao Sang asked,

“Does it still remember things from the past?”

“No,” Mikaela said gravely. “The basic memory inheritance is just something the race needs it to pass on. It won’t recall past lives. You can think of it as a newborn Shallala.”

Qiao Sang fell silent again.

Suddenly, Shallala floated over on the wind and cried out happily,   ”

Shallala…”

Just as it uttered a word, it seemed to remember something and covered its mouth.

Qiao Sang looked at it, suppressing his mixed emotions. “Do you like it here?” Shallala covered her mouth and nodded repeatedly.   ”There’s something even more interesting here. I’ll take you there,” Qiao Sang said as he walked towards the Giant Garden. “I hear there are some taller plants and pets there…” Qingbao, like a gust of wind   , followed beside her.   Yabao also followed, occasionally looking up at Shallala.   Although it didn’t understand some of the words, it understood the general meaning.   Lubao glanced at Shallala, then looked away and quietly followed beside his beastmaster.   Little Thunder Dragon remained clung to Lubao as always, paying no attention to the conversation or the guide’s words.   High in the sky, Gangbao gave Shalala a complicated look, flapping his wings and catching up with his beastmaster.   Little Xunbao, who was happily enjoying himself, saw everyone else walk away and called out,   ”Xunxun!   Wait for me! ”   Then, he dived into a black hole that appeared out of nowhere and reappeared beside his beastmaster.   Mikala watched this scene with a smile on his face, subconsciously turning to look in the direction of Peng Jiamei and the Dragon King.   Peng Jiamei was still asleep.   The Dragon King was picking his nose, seemingly digging out a large piece of food and flicking it to the side.   Mikala was silent for a moment, too lazy to call out to them, and walked on.

“Don’t be afraid when you see larger pets. They’re staff members. They’ve grown in size after taking Giant Powder.”

“Xunxun?!”

“You can’t use that. It only works on Grass-type pets.”

“Xunxun…”

“Ya Ya…”

Ya Bao sighed, expressing his feelings that size didn’t affect strength at all. That tiny True Bird was still easily defeated.

“Xunxun~”

Little Xun Bao called out.

But the others’ true forms were enormous, even Emperor-level.

Amidst their casual conversation, Qiao Sang led Ya Bao and the others across the long bridge and into the Giant Appreciation Garden.

The flowers and plants they saw suddenly grew dozens of times taller, and the weather felt much cooler under the shade of the plants.

“Ting Ting…”

Little Ting Long glanced curiously to the side. The first time Lu Bao walked ahead, it didn’t follow.

But soon, sensing the temperature, the little Ting Long quickly moved to catch up.

Dozens of pets, each about twenty meters tall, with heads shaped like yellow flowers and brown roots split into two, like legs, marched past in formation.

“Xunxun…”

Little Xunbao slowly raised his head. “

So big…”

Suddenly, one of the pets, with a head shaped like a yellow flower, stopped and looked at Xia Lala floating in mid-air. An inexplicable attraction surged within him. He reached out his leaf-like hands, lifted Xia Lala up, and placed her on his head, continuing forward.

Xia Lala was stunned for a moment, then looked around in curiosity.

“Qingqing!”

Qingbao appeared beside his beastmaster, pointing at the grass-type pet that had lifted Xia Lala and calling anxiously.

“This is the strange-branched flower from the Giant Appreciation Garden. It’s a staff member, and they can take tourists on a high-angle tour of the Giant Appreciation Garden. It’s very safe,” Qiao Sang explained.

This was clearly written on the detailed blueprints for the Flower Valley.

“Qingqing…”

Qingbao gave a look of “I see!”

“Xunxun~”

Little Xunbao’s eyes lit up when he heard that. He floated over to one of the strange-branched flowers and called out.

“Weird branch.”

The strange-branched flower glanced at him, smiled, pointed to a petal on its head, and called out.

Little Xunbao looked over and found a QR code.

“Xunxun…”

Little Xunbao shook his head, indicating he had no money.

Weird Flower’s smile faded, and he walked forward.

“Xunxun…”

Little Xunbao’s expression was lost.

Then, Qiao Sang called out, “How much? I’ll pay!”

“Weird Branch!”

Weird Flower paused, crouched, and lowered its head, displaying a QR code.

Qiao Sang scanned the code and asked, “Two people, nine pets…”

At this point, Mikala interrupted, “Don’t count Meimei and Dragon King; they didn’t come with us.”

Qiao Sang glanced back, and sure enough, Pengamei and Dragon King were nowhere to be seen. He then asked, “Seven pets, how much in total?”

“Weird Branch!”

Weird Flower called out, naming the amount.

“Gang Chief,”

Gangbao translated in his mind.

Qiao Sang scanned the money, looked at Yabao and the others, and said, “Come on up, since we’re here, let’s experience it. Weird Flower knows the terrain well.”

“Xunxun!”

Little Xunbao cried happily, floating above Weird Flower’s head.

Then, his eyes flashed blue, and he guided Qiao Sang, Mikala, and Yabao to the head of the strange flower.

“Tingting…”

The little Thunder Dragon surveyed his surroundings with curiosity.

Xia Lala, perched on the head of the strange flower in the back row, looked at the group sitting together in front and couldn’t help but call out,

“Xia…”

Just as she uttered a single word, she covered her mouth.

“Weird branch.”

The strange flower carrying her, perceptive and aware of something, called out, picked up Xia Lala and placed her on the head of the strange flower in front.

“Xia Xia,”

Xia Lala was startled at first, then turned to the strange flower that had just carried her and smiled gratefully.

“Weird branch,”

the strange flower smiled back, oblivious to the problem.

And so, Qiao Sang, Mikala, and Yabao sat on the head of the same strange flower, observing the surroundings, occasionally pausing to interact with the other giant grass-type pets that passed by.

These staff pets seemed to enjoy Xia Lala’s fresh-flowered appearance, frequently stopping to interact with her and offering her flowers.

Just over ten minutes later, Qiao Sang and the others were engulfed by a sea of giant flowers.

“Xia Xia…”

Xia Lala struggled to poke her head out from among the giant blossoms.

“Everyone seems to like you,” Qiao Sang said with a smile.

“Xia Xia…”

Xia Lala scratched her head, looking sheepish.

“Xun Xun~”

Little Xun Bao poked his head out and called out, expressing his appreciation for everyone’s love, having just received two flowers.

“Yes, yes, everyone likes you too,” Qiao Sang said with a smile.

As they were talking, a frog-like water pet from a giant tree suddenly sprayed a stream of water, precisely aimed at Lu Bao.

Lu Bao was nimble, dodging with a slight sway.

The water sprayed down on the little Thunder Dragon.

“Ting Ting…”

The little Thunder Dragon was stunned for a moment, then an angry expression flashed across his face, arcs of electricity crackling from his body.

However, before his lightning could strike, a frog-like pet from a nearby giant tree revealed a heartbroken expression. Wiping away tears, it jumped down from the tree and leaped away.

Little Thunder Dragon: “???”

“When water-type pets here spray you with water outside of battle, it’s a gesture of friendship and affection,” Qiao Sang explained.

“Tingting…”

Little Thunder Dragon was stunned again.

So it likes me…

Lu Bao remained silent, observing the surrounding scenery.

Suddenly, a group of butterfly-like pets with transparent wings passed by, carrying flower baskets and continuously scattering shimmering pollen from the baskets.

The falling pollen made Ya Bao sneeze.

Qiao Sang explained,

“They’re called Jiao Mang butterflies, and they’re also staff members here. The powder they scatter helps grass-type pets grow better.”

“Ya Ya,”

Ya Bao called out as he sneezed.

But they weren’t grass-type pets.

Qiao Sang was silent for a moment, looking at the Jiao Mang butterflies smiling at Xia La La, and said,

“Maybe they’re just spreading pollen on the Fresh Fresh Pu, and we’re just passing by.”

“Ya Ya?”

Ya Bao called out, a puzzled expression on his face.

Who is Fresh Fresh Pu?

Qiao Sang gestured in Xia La La’s direction with his eyes.

“Ya…”

Yabao was even more confused.

That wasn’t Xia…

Before he could finish his words, little Xunbao covered his mouth with a claw:

“Xunxun!”

Don’t tell anyone!

Yabao, remembering this, nodded.

Little Xunbao finally released his claws.

Qiao Sang couldn’t help but laugh at this.

Little Xunbao would never dare treat Yabao like this before.

Really, he’s grown up…

Qiao Sang pulled his legs out, leaned back, and lay on the flowers. He took a deep breath, breathing in the fragrance around him. He felt a sense of extraordinary relaxation, and sleepiness also came over him.

“What’s wrong?” Mikaela asked.

“I suddenly feel like taking a nap…” Qiao Sang said sleepily.

Mikaela: “…”

No, this is the Flower Valley, not the Pet Spa. You’re actually feeling sleepy?

Mikaela was silent for a few seconds, then said,

“Go to sleep. I’ll call you when the strange branch flower completes its circuit.”

Qiao Sang didn’t respond; she had already fallen asleep.

At the same time, an invisible area in his brain began to surge.
